My mom came over yesterday and we painted the nursery - walls, trim, and door. It needs to cure a few days before we can stripe the accent wall, so hopefully doing that next weekend. In the meantime, it looks so nice already! And I can finally start moving furniture and clothes in and act like there'll be baby here before long.
I've gotten in this weird nesting mode where if it's anything organization or baby related, all over it. But basic cleaning of the house? Not happening
Finally getting the nursery done this week. Painters come tomorrow, furniture comes Friday. DH and I just plotted out the furniture layout and decided to also get a bookshelf. We had been planning to leave the guest bed in there, but it's so cramped and can go in a downstairs room instead. I am salivating in anticipation of my glider.

I think I'm finally nesting, too. But we have So. Much. Stuff. And I want to get rid of all of it. I HATE stuff. Throw it all away!! H is not on the same page...

I hate stuff too! I regularly have a goodwill pile. My in-laws don't understand and keep bringing me more crap.

Ugh! I dropped some stuff at Salvation Army the other day (you know Goodwill isn't really a charity?? Hate that) and put another big box in my car today to GO. Making progress!

It's funny because I'm kind of the opposite right now. I'll clean the house, but if it's anything to do with getting ready for baby I all but shut down. I still feel oddly overwhelmed when I walk into places like Babies R US, I need to get over myself.
@BeckS13, I don't find it odd to be overwhelmed going into BRU at all. That place is like sensory overload for moms! Don't worry about feeling weird for shutting down when it comes to preparing for the baby. Everything will work out and fall into place and you figure it out as you go in a way that works best for you. There is no "right way" to plan and organize for the baby's arrival.
@BeckS13 I completely shut down in baby stores. I'm so thankful for online shopping, I'm fairly certain I'd be putting baby in a box if I didn't have the option to order shit off websites. I highly recommend doing baby shopping from the couch.
+1 to being overwhelmed in baby stores. When I got KU we went to Buy Buy Baby and it was so bad I had a panic attack and refused to go back for 3 months. Now I've realized we don't need 99% of that crap.
We bought a box of newborn diapers today at Sam's Club. Everywhere we go, DD1 keeps saying "I need to get something for the baby" so we keep buying little stuff every time we're out lol!

That's cute! DD freaked out at walmart about a month ago and she yelled at me saying, "MOM, we don't have a bike for my little baby sister!! We need to go get one!". It was adorable.

I've been doing most of my baby shopping at Target just because the smaller baby section gives me less anxiety! I have three BRU gift cards, so I'll have to venture in there at some point unfortunately!

I have literally been doing this since july, went to start washing baby stuff the other day and got a lecture from my mum & sister about how much stuff i have as i forgot about a lot of it & it was just building up. But my mum is no better! Lol
Yesterday I decided to finally refinish the bedframe and nightstand that goes in the 2nd bedroom. We've got a 2bd/2ba house but thankfully the rooms are huge and give plenty of extra space! Our second bedroom is our son's playroom/ guest room, but he sleeps in our room as will DS2. Regardless, I still feel the need to rearrange and spruce up the "boys room" even though DS2 obviously won't be playing in there for quite some time.
I also find myself wanting to perfect my bedroom and living room decor. Stop the madness!!
I think the only reason I feel so bad about shutting down in baby stores is because in every other aspect I am excited as all hell for baby. I've dreamed of being a mom for as long as I can remember so it seems so backwards. I feel like my appropriate actions would be to run through the stores in glee and snatch up what I can gets. I will note though that looking for things online has made my life vastly easier, and because Costco(well in Canada at least) has axed a huge portion of their baby stuff, including the travel system I was going to get, I have been forced to look at other stores online for alternatives, and have actually found better ways of saving money. So hooray that things haven't panned out thus far I suppose? Lol!
@MommaBean I'm with you on wanting to get rid of all the extra junk/stuff! It's crazy how much needless stuff we have. I'd be so happy to box it up & have it gone! But my husband is the total opposite, always wanting to keep everything because who knows when we might need it. I try to get rid of something and he tries taking it to "find a spot for it" aka packing it in an overstuffed closet or putting it right back where I found it.
@fourPsinapod yesterday I barely slept and felt like a zombie all day. Seriously no energy to do anything. I couldn't imagine working a full day how I felt. Best wishes that Starbucks works for you!
@fourPsinapod yummmm do it. I made sure to set up my coffee maker before bed! I discovered over break that I still get migraines if I miss that AM cup
Caffiene never did anything to me if I missed it before pregnancy. I also found out over the long weekend that if I miss that morning cup of coffee, I will have a headache all day. No matter how much water and chocolate I have. Ugh!

Definitely loving the coffee after the long weekend.
+1 to online shopping because it's SO much more comfortable. And because we don't have any big baby stores near us, so a trip to one is an all day thing.
I want to get so much done every day but I can't do a lot by myself anymore. I get home from work and I'm tired or H works at night so I usually end up just chilling on the couch. We need to put the bookcase together for the nursery and the glider will be delivered this weekend. I've done the baby laundry so at least she has some clean clothes, I just have to organize and put them away. I have the diaper bag packed and my stuff in the hospital bag, H needs to get his stuff together lol. I seriously want to reorganize my kitchen but I'm really thinking that's not going to happen before she gets here.
Just popping in with a dose of cuteness. Bilirubin is in check for now, so Harrison is happily checking out his environment since he doesn't have to wear the goggles that protect his eyes while he was under the infrared light. He is still working on his breathing so we can't start bottle/bteastfeeds until his O2 is down to 1 liter( he's at 4). But he is gaining weight and they've upped his feeding volume 4 times already. Pumping is going so well they are freezing my excess milk. So ready to have him home but he is making good progress and he loves snuggling Mom and dad.
Oh my goodness @chef'swife he is just too cute! I'm glad to hear he is making progress and that your supply is good! That's the one thing I was afraid of when DD was in the NICU that I wouldn't be able to establish/keep supply up, but our bodies do amazing things! Lol
Omg when DS was in the NICU I pumped myself into such an oversupply! When he finally came home, he would get my leftdown started and move out of the way to let the initial burst spray out, then latch back on. And I leaked so much at night! Not to alarm anyone -- my supply settled in to match his needs quickly
