@PghMom412 we live at the beach and we don't plan on taking little one until they are probably 4 months old. We will take DD when my parents can watch baby, or I'll stay home. For one, it is so stinking hot for a baby and the sand gets everywhere. Plus we tried to stick to the rule of no sunscreen on babies skin for the 1st 6 months.

I really want to go climbing today. I'm thinking I could top rope and would just avoid bouldering. I saw a badass woman toproping at, like, 7 months pregnant but she had a special harness. Honestly, I probably won't do it because my harness goes across my stomach, but I wish I could.

Oh my! Lots to catch up on! Let's see if posting on my phone works this time!

H has gone to all of the appointments so far (FTparents). I really like sharing that with him, plus he always remembers to ask questions!

H's work told him he basically gets the day the baby is born off and that's it. I told H hthats not right and if you have vacation and sick that you haven't used they can't tell you no, even my HR guys said that! So crazy! Thinking he may take a few days at first and then go back and take whatever is left later when I got back to work. My mom and MIL will be here to help so that should work.

No sex drive and it kind of freaks me out even though I know it's safe! I'm just a weirdo! Im hoping it picks up and I get out of this funk.

Lastly, I have so much sinus congestion right now! Ugh it's horrible! I can't breathe and have no idea if I can take anything for it??? I already take Zyrtec every day but that's not cutting it. Using a Neti pot, Vicks, and sometimes the saline spray between Neti pot uses...feeling like crap

Is anyone including May Baby in the wording on their Christmas card? If so, how did you say it? I call the baby "Lamb Chop," but my husband rolled his eyes when I mentioned printing that. This was what I had in mind...

Today, I started to ask a few close fam/friends for any baby clothes they could spare. In my opinion babies grow so fast, whatever they can spare will surely be put to good use and deff save us a lot of money.

My random question: Do you think I should pay them? Like depending how much it is, I give them something for their help.

I think it depends, sometimes people expect you to give the clothes back. I think you could offer but most people will say, "I want this back, or give to someone else who needs it when you're done."

Help STMs! Last night, my 16 month old woke up in the middle of the night. Changed his diaper and tried giving him a bottle but he refused, which he had never done. He actually put it in his mouth and then took it out and handed it back to me. ??? He just cried and cried and was restless. Me holding and cuddling him didn't help either. He isn't sick... may be teething and is going through leap 10 (stormy week 1-2). I gave him teething crackers and he finally drank some water from his sippy cup. He finally fell asleep next to us for a hours. He woke up his normal self but didn't want a bottle or water this morning. He didn't want solid food at breakfast either. He just wanted puffs, veggie creamies, and teething crackers. All day, still refusing bottle andvtaking sips of water here and there. What's going on? I need your wisdom! Gonna post in STM post too!

@mrsrep123 did you try giving him some Motrin right before bed? If it is teething or just little aches or pains it may relieve the pain enough for him to sleep. We had to do that a couple times with DD and it turned out she was either coming down with something or was teething. I wouldn't do it more than a night or two, if it persisted and I couldn't come up with a reason I'd call the dr.

@BeachMommy2B he's drinking out of his soft spout sippy cup just fine (last night and this morning now - but only water). Hmm... maybe he just weaned himself off of his bottles and milk.

DH may be coming down with dreaded man cold. I have even less sympathy for him because he sat in his tree stand for four hours in below freezing weather this morning. Anyone else wish they could send their hubby to the in laws house so that their Mommy could care for them until well?
My DH got the man cold this past week too and was so dramatic. He kept asking if I thought it was pneumonia or if I thought he had a fever...it was so annoying. I agree and totally wish I could have sent him to his mother's house. But then of course I got it and pregnancy cold sucks a special kind of sucking since I haven't taken much of anything...so payback is a bitch I suppose

So I just need to vet. We got in a car accident with 2 other cars this afternoon :( Black ice is the worst. Thankfully, everyone is fine, and my son wasn't phased. I called my doctor, just to be on the safe side, and she said the baby is super protected at this point, and should be fine. I've been feeling normal, and baby's heartbeat sounds normal (thankful for my home doppler), it's just a stressful situation. Our car was the most damaged, we're hoping it's not totaled.

Anyone experience an accident with a car seat? I've read that, with moderate to severe accidents, they should be replaced. I'm not sure what the bar is there. Does insurance cover it? Our claims representative made a note and will get back to us about it, just wondering if anyone has experience.

@kayemjay2 Sorry you were in an accident. That is one of my biggest fears during pregnancy. I'm glad everyone is ok.

I'm in a local car seat FB group and the specialist says to replace seat after any impact. I would definitely replace. I think you may be able to make insurance claim depending on coverage, but it will likely have to be in the the form of reimbursement. Good luck with with everything.

@kayemjay2 sorry about your accident! How scary and probably something we all fear! So glad you and everyone are ok and Doppler sounded good! Unfortunately I have no official advice about the car seat as a FT pregnancy here but I have heard that they are supposed to be replaced. Hope insurance will reimburse you.

So sorry to hear of your accident and glad everyone is safe! Were you at fault and going through your insurance? All insurance companies should cover the cost to replace your car seat! I've heard most companies send you a check ASAP so that you can purchase one right away.

@rkstro2 and @h&pmomma - Thank you! I hope insurance covers the car seat- it was pretty new! I assume they will. The cop who responded said it was a "no fault" accident, and everyone was insured. We will have to pay our deductible, but I think that's it. My husband was driving, and there was no way to avoid hitting the other cars. It was a 2 lane road, and the car in front of us had swerved into the ditch because of ice. We were sliding, and the only places to go were into the ditch (and into the car right in front of us), into the oncoming traffic, or into the car in front of us, which was further away...so that's what happened. We side swiped the car in the ditch and rear ended another car :( The other drivers agreed it was unavoidable.

@kayemjay2 - Glad to hear everyone is okay! So scary! Whether they cover the car seat or not will depend on the force of impact so damage for both the other vehicles and yours will be part of the consideration. If the impact was more mild where you were sliding slowly and just not able to stop all the way, then the insurance company might not replace it. However, if your car is close to being a total loss, I would definitely push to get it replaced no matter what.

@vrj0522 - Thanks for the info, that makes sense. The damage was mostly to our vehicle, and it was enough that I'd feel more comfortable replacing the car seat, so I'll definitely push for that. We have State Farm, who have always been awesome, so hopefully that trend continues. I'm so thankful for the car seat though- I don't think my son even felt anything! Even if we have to pay for another car seat, I'm grateful everyone's okay- it could have been much worse.

@kayemjay2, so scary but I'm glad to hear everyone is ok! We got into a very minor fender bender a few months ago and insurance (Geico) basically demanded that we replace the car seat. We actually had to turn in the old car seat to have the straps cut and prevent from future use and the auto body shop handed us a check from our insurance company immediately for the replacement. They said even a minor impact can compromise the structural integrity of the car seat so they don't mess with it. Hopefully your experience will be similar!
