  • @JESSABER0414 yes i just saw my re yesturday ive heard frozen is better success they can have time to prepare the uterus for implantation. Where r u in the process now?
  • I'll join you ladies too. I'll have my FET on 11/3 and we will transfer 1 out of our 2 embryos.
  • @jodes727 i dont know the exact date yet im getting my hsg/shg done in two weeks and then if all is clear i start estrogen patches all the good stuff i have 3 embryos i cant decided how many to transfer?
  • @Hoping4Success I would have chosen to transfer both, but because they are pgs tested, my clinic only will transfer one at a time.  Do you get to pick how many?

  • @jodes727 yes i get to choose
  • Hi ladies! New to this board and just found out my FET will be Nov 1... hopefully! Last month was my first IVF cycle after several failed IUIs. My ER was Sept 14. We had planned to do a fresh day5 transfer but it turned into a freeze all cycle b/c I developed OHSS. It was the worst pain I can remember ever experiencing, and I've cracked my head open and broken many bones, 2 of which were the result of being hit by a car - YIKES! I had 15 eggs retrieved, 11 fertilized, and 5 made it to freeze. My clinic freezes embryos on day 4 and cultures them to day 5 blasts at thaw. I'm on BCP till Oct 12, which is the day of first U/S. I start estrace and medrol Oct 14. Lining and ovary check on Oct 22, and as long as ovaries are back to normal size from OHSS my Nov 1 date will hold. FX'd for us all, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
  • My date just got moved to December :-( good luck here ladies!

  • @Hoping4Success I have PCOS and even using low dose follistim,  ganirelix early and Lupron with low dose hcg, I had mild OHSS. I also did poorly recovering from the er, nausea for days and passed out. They retrieved 24 eggs last Monday.  While I feel mostly back to normal the RE thinks my ovaries will still be too large for comfort by first of November.  We got 12 embryos to freeze and I'm ok with waiting another month for me to be as healthy as possible.
Going to start BCP tomorrow until Nov. 11  then period then estradiol and a gel. Then ultrasound to check lining and pio shots.  December 5th transfer of one embryo. Phew feels good to have a plan in place, helps my control freak calm down. Ha!

  • @JESSABER0414 oh ok makes sense i still have to do my sono and possibly hysteoscopy then mock transfer snd then go from there im so anxious
  • Hello, ladies
i have a projected embryo transfer day of Nov, 3. I go in for an ultrasound this Tuesday. I am on Lupron and took my last bc on Friday. Good vibes to everyone! Time is going by fast for me but it still seems like a long wait. We have had a few bumps along the way. We have 5 frozen from an IVF cycle from 2013. This is my first FET.

  • Welcome @Lavendar83!  Looks like we are on the same schedule. I ended bc on Thursday and go in on Tues/Wed for u/s and FET on 11/3. We have 2 frozen embryos. How many will you transfer?
  • Thank you❤️ Jodes727.  Wow! We really are on the same schedule. We are planning on transferring just one. It is tempting to transfer two but I think for us this is what we feel the most comfortable with. When do you start Estrogen? I believe if things go good at the ultrasound, I start on Thursday.
  • @Lavendar83 I will call tomorrow am to schedule my day 2,3, or 4 u/S and b/w. When I go for that they will give me my new caendar that will include decreasing Lupron (I'm at 20 now) and adding in estrogen and pio. GL with your u/S!

    Hi Ladies,
I am doing FET (hopefully) Nov 3, also. I originally was set to transfer on Sept 1st but got cancelled the day before bc my thyroid levels were too high. It was very upsetting to have to cancel.  I have one PGS normal embryo on ice, only one of five was normal. I just did another egg retrieval and am waiting for PGS results to know if any of those 4 are normal. Because it's PGS I will only be transferring one anyway.
Today, Oct 9, I had my FET baseline ultrasound to make sure my ovaries had recovered (they had) and today is the last day of my BCP.
I will start 2x estrogen on day one of my period and increase to 3x on day 10.
My next appointment is for a sono on Day 10, then ultrasound day 17 to check lining. They know I react well to estrogen and don't need to check my levels sooner.
Looking forward to following you all. Looks like some of us will be on very similar schedules. GL and baby dust to all!
    PS: I'M 39
  • Howdy - just got my BFN from my first IVF fresh transfer.  Totally sucks - we transferred 1 day 5 AA hatching blastocyst and I had a great lining, but we didn't do PGS, so no idea what was really going on in that embryo. FET scheduled for 11/8.  We've got 6 blasts on ice just waiting for their chances to thaw!  I'll get a tracker going for us here soon too.

  • Hi Knottie1460335159 my FET was delayed because of my thyroid. I have been on BCP since the beginning of July. I am glad to finally be off of that. It sounds like you are off to great start!
@monica54321 The tracker is great! I'm really glad you put that together! I'm sorry about the news, but it sounds like you are moving forward. Here is to the future bfp's!

  • Hi everyone, I have been off the boards for a while. a little bit about my story..I am 28(29 in a couple weeks) and DH is 32. we have been TTC for 2.5 years dx is male infertility severely low count and IVF was given to us as our only option. We did our first round of IVF in January and resulted in 6 frozen embryos. We did our first FET in May and got a BFP we transferred 1 embryo and it split into identical twins and sadly both stopped developing at 8.5 weeks along. I underwent a D&C in July and have been awaiting the last few months to be cleared to start treatment again. Today is Cycle day 1 and i go in tomorrow for blood work and if i follow the same protocol transfer should be Mid Nov.
I dont feel mentally prepared to go through all the appointments and shots all over again but i am so hopeful that this time around will result in my take home rainbow baby.

hopes and prayers for everyone on this board!

  • @Monica54321 thanks for the google doc but I'm sorry for your bfn. I love your outlook and your resilience to keep moving forward!

@kjplaza welcome, and I'm sorry for your losses!!

@Knottie1460335159 sounds like you have a great plan set!  Having a plan and details is what I love and IF can make that hard!

afm, I had my u/S and b/w today and all looked good. I will continue with Lupron and add in estradiol on Sunday and eventually pio prior to the fet. I also found out that my acupuncturist will come right to my clinic for my sessions before and after the transfer instead of going to his office.
  • Sorry to hear of your failed fresh transfer @Monica54321 :(
I see you are transferring 2 this time! That's exciting! Thanks for the google doc. Makes me feel official.

@jodes727 Have you decided how many to transfer? That's great about your acupuncturist! My RE has a list of approved acupuncture clinics and mine isn't on it, so she can't come to the office. But I don't mind.

@kjplaza I'm sorry to hear of your losses. So sad. It's your turn for your rainbow. That will make all the appointments and meds worth it. I've had 3 losses, including one ectopic where I lost a tube.

@Lavendar83 I had never heard of someone being delayed for thyroid levels before. Mine was 5.+ at original transfer time but a few weeks ago we checked & was down to 1.5. Had it tested again today, hopefully its still in the good range. I have to redo my hsg/shg because it's been 6 months.

I got my 2nd batch PGS results back today. 1 out of 4 were good. So, we now have 2 on ice - feels good! Since I had to wait for my thyroid to drop I decided to do another egg retrieval.

  • Hi all been kinda quiet my bday was yesturday so enjoyed that i also got a call from my nurse we have a transfer date of november 16 if sll looks good i still have to possibly do a hystroscopy or sono not sure yet ill know more this week and will have my oficial protocol im on bcp for  a bit i should start meds october 20 im so excited
  • Hi ladies! AF finally arrived late last night so I'm able to get a treatment calendar. I'm starting my patches on Thursday and then my transfer will be either the early part of the first week of November or the early part of the second. Unfortunately, I have 'blackout days' of the 3rd, 4th and 5th as I'm in a wedding. Luckily they can move things around a bit! I won't know for sure until my calendar arrives by EOW (my clinic is close this week and next for a fertility conference/lab cleaning) but looking like my FET will be in November. And this is my one shot so fingers crossed!

  • @byrneme - WELCOME!!!

@Hoping4Success - Happy (belated) Birthday!  There's something about IF that makes birthdays extra hard... I think it's a reminder of the amount of time that's passed since we've been struggling with IF that can really kick your butt. Glad to hear that you got your date though.

  • Hi ladies. I was originally in the Sept-Oct cycle. It was our 2nd IVF cycle. First we only had 2 embryos make it to transfer and neither implanted. This cycle we actually got 4 "amazing looking" embryos and planned to transfer 2, but had to cancel in the middle of the transfer b/c I had nasty endometriosis fluid in my uterus, probably from the really high estrogen levels during stims and from the retrieval). I'm waiting for AF to see what my protocol will be. I wish I had a specific date for FET but my clinic just goes by how the uterine lining looks. I'm really nervous, I've heard bad things about the Lupron side effects (I don't know if I'll even be on that though). I'm super excited but still very cautious about the transfer since one already failed.

    TTC for 8 years.
Started in 2008 with timed intercourse, ovulation testing, no official monitoring.
OB-GYN recommended Clomid and timed intercourse, attempted for 6 straight months.
First surgery June 2009 (OB-GYN): diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and large hydrosalpinx on right tube.
Second surgery (July 2009, RE performed this): Right tube had to be removed, lots of adhesions removed.
Attempted "trying on our own" as per RE recommendations, unsuccessful 5-6 months.
HSG performed December 2009: left tube open.
February 2010: started Femara and timed intercourse, attempted 6 months, no BFPs.
Took a break for a while.
January 2011: started IUI process, ovaries never properly responded to medications, 6 failed attempts, never actually completed an IUI.
Took 2012-2014 off due to depression and frustration (side note: did complete grad school to become a nurse practitioner- great distraction).
2015: started seeing RE again, went through tons of testing and HSG, left tube now blocked, only option is IVF.
September 2015: Started first official IVF cycle, cancelled in October due to large cyst on left ovary.
October 2015: started on birth control for 2 months.
December 2015: attempted to start another IVF cycle, cysts on both ovaries on initial ultrasound, left was huge, cancelled to aspirated cyst.
January 2016: Cyst back, surgery for ex-lap, cyst and adhesions removed.
March 2016: Attempted second IVF cycle, estrogen way too high, cyst back, cancelled again.
April 2016: Third attempted IVF cycle, 7 eggs retrieved, 2 mature (but not great) embryos made to fresh transfer, neither implanted.
May-Sept 2016: Break to regain sanity.
Sept-Oct 2016: Attempted fourth IVF cycle, very successful, cyst still on left but we ignored. 7 mature "great looking" eggs retrieved, 4 mature embryos made it to day 5 transfer. Transfer aborted due to large amount of endometriosis fluid in uterus.
FET of 2 embryos completed on 12/12/16.
    12/22/16 1st Beta 179 BFP!!!
    12/24/16 2nd Beta 449!!

    Audrey (4lb 8oz) and Olivia (6lb 6oz) born 8/10/17!!

  • @Knottie9983816 I'm glad to hear that you have two good embryos on ice.
Yeah, the doctor I see is very particular about thyroid. Luckily, I had my ultrasound and blood work and it all came back good. The bad news is my husband is an insurance adjuster and he got deployed to work the damage from the hurricane. He had to sign the papers today for the transfer, since I won't see him for about 6 weeks. It really stinks he won't be around for the transfer. He would give me the PIO shots when we went through IVF. I tried it once on myself and almost past out
  • @tiffanyw1783 I was on lupron for my er and I am on it again for my fet.  I have headaches, but nothing major from it.  Hopefully you don't have anything too bad either.

  • In concerned about lupron too and headaches i am prone to them i get them around my cycles whi. Is hormonal and im afraid when i start lupron next week that ill get them ugh
  • It's so interesting how protocols for FET can differ so much.  The only med I'm on pre-FET is Estrace (beginning with onset of period and ramping from 2x per day to 3x per day at some point during the cycle).  Then just PIO after transfer, I think (guess it might start a little before xfer, haven't got my complete plan yet).

  • @Hoping4Success Hoping4Success Happy Birthday, hopefully by your next birthday you'll be holding your little one!, my b.day is later this month and that is my wish!

@Lavendar83 That sucks your husband is going to be out of town, i never tried giving myself the PIO last round but i dont think i could do it, just the angle seems so awkward let alone how big the needle is.

@Monica54321 - sorry to hear about your BFN hopefully this time around is a better outcome! youre right about how crazy it is with the varying protocols it always makes me question what im doing or if my clinic is doing everything that works best for my body.

I got my schedule today with transfer planned for Nov. 9th! its a shorter protocol that i followed last time around this one is about 4 weeks where as last transfer the protocol was about 6.5 weeks long.

Currently i am on BCP until the 17th and then later on ill start estrace 2mg 3x/day. last time around i also was on estrogen patches, progesterone pills, progesterone suppositories and PIO. I am not sure what all ill be taking this time around i guess ill find out when i get my pharmacy bill :)

  • @kjplaza aww thank you yes i pray to god that will be the greatest gift ever
  • @Hoping4Success that does seem like a lot of different things to keep track of as far as the different meds you will be taking.  I have been having some headaches with the Lupron, I noticed that if I drink a lot of water it isn't so bad.

@kjplaza that is nice you are on a shorter protocol, Nov 9th isn't that far from now. I'm glad I have been really busy so I don't obsess over it.

AFM I start estrogen tomorrow and get to lower the Lupron...which I'm glad about. The doctor said the headaches would probably go away once I am on estrogen.

  • @Lavendar83 i know i start lupron next week and im soo scared of the headaches ugh
  • @Hoping4Success well, I didn't get them when I went through IVF, so maybe you won't get them. I had an awful headache the second night, I started drinking more water and it went away. I have only had minor ones since that one.
