@Lavendar83 ya i wasnt on lupron for my er so this is my first time taking it and when i did my er meds i had noo headaches what so ever i will keep hydrated for sure im nervous
@Hoping4Success I see you are on Folgard...do you have MTHFR? I am on it as well for it. During my initial screening last Sept, my RE told me about it, but we really haven't talked about it since then.
Hey everyone! Been MIA for the past week drowning in work,
see I've missed quite a bit…
@Lavendar83 Great
news that your b/w and u/s were good and you get to start estrogen today! Sorry
your husband won’t be around for the transfer and PIO shots, that does stink. I freaked about
injecting myself with PIO at first but it wasn’t bad at all. I iced the area
for a couple minutes first while warming the syringe on a heating pad, and even
though I moved the syringe around a lot while I was injecting, I didn’t feel
anything. Afterwards I applied a heating pad to the area for a while.
@Hoping4Success Happy
belated birthday and glad to hear you have your schedule and FET date, very
exciting!
@jodes727 Glad your b/w and u/s looked good! That’s amazing your acupuncturist will treat
you at your clinic so you don’t have to travel to his office!
@monica54321
Thanks for creating the tracker! So sorry for your BFN. We didn’t do PGS either
and I’ve been worrying about that. It’s why we can’t decide whether to transfer
2 or 3. Since our embryos were frozen on day 4, we’ll prob wait to find out their
quality once thawed and cultured to blasts to make our decision, which means
the day of transfer.
@kjplaza
Very sorry for your losses. Your positivity and hopefulness are inspiring! Glad
to hear your schedule is in place and is shorter this time around!
@tiffanyw1783
Sorry to hear about the outcome of your first cycle and having to cancel ET last
cycle. I was on Lupron for a little over 3 weeks for my IVF cycle. I
experienced quite a few side effects but nothing major – similar to
progesterone side effects for me.
AFM, I had my baseline u/s yesterday and everything’s
looking good – ovaries are back to normal size! I took my last BCP yesterday
and start Estrace and Medrol tomorrow. My lining check on 10/22 will be my only
appointment between now and transfer. Super excited!!
Also, in the spirit of positive thinking, we bought a
minivan. Our 3 little doggies love the space but I’m definitely experiencing an
urgency to fill it with human babies – fast!
this is a questions for everyone, after my last transfer i took about 10 days off from work- i work per diem and was able to make my schedule very flexible around the transfer and just didnt want to take any chances as i work in a hospital constantly lifting patients. This time around our transfer is 2 days before we were scheduled to fly out of town for a wedding. Part of me feels like the embryo will stick if its meant to and traveling wont affect it but the other half of me is all about laying down and relaxing for a few days. Are you guys taking time off after the transfer or going back to normal everyday activities fairly quickly?

@kjplaza My RE does not recommend bed rest. He says to rest day of and go back to normal activities next day but with no lifting or strenuous exercise. He says most of the recent studies show no difference in success rates b/w those that were on bedrest and those not on bedrest. I am a nurse practitioner in a very busy neurosurgery clinic, I can't take off more than the day of and day after transfer.
TTC for 8 years. Started in 2008 with timed intercourse, ovulation testing, no official monitoring. OB-GYN recommended Clomid and timed intercourse, attempted for 6 straight months. First surgery June 2009 (OB-GYN): diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and large hydrosalpinx on right tube. Second surgery (July 2009, RE performed this): Right tube had to be removed, lots of adhesions removed. Attempted "trying on our own" as per RE recommendations, unsuccessful 5-6 months. HSG performed December 2009: left tube open. February 2010: started Femara and timed intercourse, attempted 6 months, no BFPs. Took a break for a while. January 2011: started IUI process, ovaries never properly responded to medications, 6 failed attempts, never actually completed an IUI. Took 2012-2014 off due to depression and frustration (side note: did complete grad school to become a nurse practitioner- great distraction). 2015: started seeing RE again, went through tons of testing and HSG, left tube now blocked, only option is IVF. September 2015: Started first official IVF cycle, cancelled in October due to large cyst on left ovary. October 2015: started on birth control for 2 months. December 2015: attempted to start another IVF cycle, cysts on both ovaries on initial ultrasound, left was huge, cancelled to aspirated cyst. January 2016: Cyst back, surgery for ex-lap, cyst and adhesions removed. March 2016: Attempted second IVF cycle, estrogen way too high, cyst back, cancelled again. April 2016: Third attempted IVF cycle, 7 eggs retrieved, 2 mature (but not great) embryos made to fresh transfer, neither implanted. May-Sept 2016: Break to regain sanity. Sept-Oct 2016: Attempted fourth IVF cycle, very successful, cyst still on left but we ignored. 7 mature "great looking" eggs retrieved, 4 mature embryos made it to day 5 transfer. Transfer aborted due to large amount of endometriosis fluid in uterus. FET of 2 embryos completed on 12/12/16. 12/22/16 1st Beta 179 BFP!!! 12/24/16 2nd Beta 449!! EDD 8/30/17 with two girls!!!!!

@kjplaza My RE's instructions are to spend the day of transfer and following 2 days at home but not on bed rest. I asked if I could go back to work the next day since I have a desk job and he said no due to possible work related stress that I should avoid.
Hi everyone. I'm new to this board and wanted to join you guys to have some FET buddies. I am so very nervous! I have my very first FET scheduled for 11/14. We did not do a fresh transfer because we wanted to do PGS. We have 14 PGS tested frozen embryos, which I know is great, but I am still super nervous about it succeeding as I am 35 and have never been pregnant before.
My protocol is to continue birth control until Friday (started when AF came after retrieval), then assuming AF arrives in a timely manner I start with Delestrogen injections every Friday and Monday, then add to that PIO daily starting on 11/7. I'm also taking a prenatal and asprin 81mg every day, then starting on 11/9 I'm to take doxycycline & medrol until transfer. After transfer they have me on just PIO, prenatal & asprin until a positive blood test on 11/24 at which time I would add endometrin caps 3 times a day (not looking forward to those). My RE recommends bed rest on the day of and day after transfer.
@Hoping4Success Oh it will be good to have a buddy. I am already so anxious, I can't imagine how I will be during the 2WW. Are you transferring 1 or 2? We decided 2.
@HopefulLily i know i cant wait either i am aiming for two as well depending on if i have to sdd more money or not my package only inlcuded one embreyo so im not sure how it works if we do have to add extra im not sure what i will do it tough im all oop
@Monica54321 thanks for the chart i still have to figure out how to update it lol but i will ive had headaches from stress and these bcp ugh can seem to go away and i dont want to take anything for it
My clinic is same as @Monica54321 im going to take the day of the transfer off and take it easy. I plan on watching some lighthearted/funny movies and try not to drive myself nuts for the next two weeks
Hi ladies - joining here as I anticipate my first FET will be in early November. A little back story: last month was my first IVF cycle and we did a fresh transfer but resulted in a BFN. We did not do PGS as my doctor didn't feel it was necessary - in retrospect I wish we had. They retrieved 22 eggs, 16 were mature but only 9 fertilized (7 normally, 2 with ICSI), and of those 9 only 5 made it to blast. Transferred 1 (BFN) and have 4 frozen. I am at a loss as to how 22 eggs retrieved only left us with 5 viable embryos but still thankful for the 4 I have remaining as I know plenty aren't so lucky. Holding out hope that it will all result in at least one healthy happy baby. We will be transferring 2.
@Monica54321 I feel better reading your protocol as mine is the same - I started Estrace today then eventually they will add progesterone, but right now not planning on any of the other bells and whistles. Glad I'm not the only one.
I actually have a question for the group - for anyone who has done both progesterone suppositories (e.g. Endometrin) AND also tried PIO - what are the pros and cons? They had be on Endometrin 3x a day for my fresh transfer and I was not a big fan. I hear PIO is scary but I'm curious if anyone who has tried both prefers one over the other? I'm going to ask my nurses about it when I go back next Monday for my scan. I'm not squeamish about needles so I want to at least inquire about PIO but I'm not sure if one is considered to be "better" than the other.
Hello everyone! I'll be joining you all and will try and read back to get caught up! I'll be having my third FET the middle of November. Went for my baseline this morning and all is quiet, so just waiting on the call from the nurse to tell me when to start meds and the exact transfer date. This time I'll be on estrace vaginally 3xday (I think) and then PIO starting 5 days before transfer.
@esperer I've been on endometrin for IUIs and have to say I prefer the PIO. It's just once per day and while it's a bigger needle, it wasn't THAT bad. My clinic does PIO for all transfers (fresh and frozen) as they did a study that PIO is distributed a little bit better than the suppositories.
@kjplaza my clinic said no bed rest required but if you are able to relax and take a day off, might as well! My RE said that they have ppl fly internationally the day following transfer and the only restriction is no lifting anything over 5 pounds and no intercourse the first 5 days of transfer. For my first FET, I took the day following off and for my second took two days off, only because it was a stressful time at work that I wanted to avoid.
For me, PIO wasn't bad at all. I barely felt the needle stick most of the time and had almost no muscle soreness. I would much prefer to do that again, as opposed to suppositories, which just sound like a big hassle & mess. My nurse did say that my progesterone level (taken along with my beta) did come back on the low side (15.6 ng/mL) so they might up my dosage level for the FET. Sounds silly, but I honestly wonder if the PIO was making it into my muscle despite the 1.5" needle... I have quite a bit of padding in that region and never seemed to get sore muscles the way others have.

I'm having a really tough day. Just saw a FB pregnancy announcement from a high school friend I'd been talking with through her first IUI just a few weeks ago. No warning, nothing... just BAM, first thing I saw when opening FB after an 11 hour work day. This announcement hurt more than any of the others I've been surprised by... I felt like I'd found my IF buddy. I should feel happy for her, but I've got nothing.
IF sucks.

@monica54321 I'm so sorry you had to deal with that today, it's like a sucker punch straight to the gut. For me it's never gotten easier either but I've come to realize it's okay for me not to be happy for others all the time. Hang in there!
I have a TMI question- i started on two estrogen patches today. I don't have an ultrasound until a week from this Thursday. I am also on Lupron to keep from ovulating. I had some EWM today. Is that normal, is the Lupron not working? This is my first FET.
@Monica54321 - sorry, lady I know that feeling all too well and hate it. You WANT to be happy but, and your description is spot on, you feel punched in the gut instead which then makes you angry in general. Does anyone watch the Real Housewives of the OC? Because I about jumped through the TV to punch Meghan at her u/s...

@esperer I did all forms of progesterone in my last transfer, oral pills, suppositories and PIO, none of them particularly gave me bad side effects the suppositories didn't bother me just worn a panty liner the downfall to the injections were the build up of painful knots and it's been almost 4 months and I still have numbness and hypersensitivity in parts of my butt and thighs from the build up of oil in my tissues dispite using heat and lots of massage. I'll be back on all 3 variations again for this transfer just as that's the protocol my dr follows. I think it has to do with how fast and how much they want absorbed into your system

Thanks for all the love! I'm feeling better today, but damn, last night was ROUGH.
My clinic called today and said that I need to come in Thursday for a mock transfer so they can evaluate if they need to put in another stitch in my cervix to help with the actual transfer. For my fresh transfer, they did a mock transfer and decided that they needed to dilate my cervix, put a stich in, and do another mock transfer while I was under anathesia for ER. With all of that my fresh transfer was super easy, so I hadn't really thought about needing to do anything for the FET. Anyone had a stitch put while not under general anathesia? That's kinda freaking me out a bit.

@Monica54321 I have not had a stitch before but I wanted to wish you good luck! I feel like everything in this process is freaking me out lately. Assuming my bloodwork today comes back fine we are starting delestrogen injections on friday, it will be my first intramuscular injection. We had training today with the nurse and my husbands hands were shaking while he did a practice one into a piece of foam, I was like oh boy, how are we gonna do this?!?!
How are all my fellow Nov FETs doing? I had blood work and an injection training for intramuscular injections today. Everything is a go to start delestrogen
on Friday if AF shows up. I'm a little nervous she is going to be late
and throw my whole calendar off! I stopped BC on Friday, and still no
sign of AF. Really was thinking it would start today because I had a
restless night last night and that always seems to happen the night
before AF comes. How long does it normally take for AF to start after
BC? I've never been on it before this IVF stuff.
@MicronesianMamma Thanks! I am already on day 5 since my last BCP, ugh it's driving me crazy! I have never wanted AF to start this bad, haha! Ok maybe when I was about to do the IVF ER cycle, but I don't remember it being this long between stopping it and AF showing up.
@lavendar83 when I did patches last cycle, I had an increase of EWM so hopefully everything is good with you!
@jodes727 hopefully all is well at your appointment this morning!
@hopefullily the last time I was on BCPs, my cycle started about 4 days after stopping, FX it starts soon for you!
I started estrace on Monday night and I'm not sure if I'm still getting caught up from my busy weekend or if it's already kicking my butt - I have been exhausted and have had a dull headache since then. This might be a looooong three weeks until I (hopefully) start the PIO.
@mtpbadger thank you for the reassurance. I went a head and talked to the nurse. I was afraid somehow I might O even though I am on a low dose of Lupron. She said that was normal, which was a huge relief! Tomorrow I start 3 patches of estrogen and I tell ya, just the two have been kicking my butt! I have also had a dull headache...uhhh!! Do you live in Wisconsin? I do and we are badger fans
@Monica54321 I hope everything goes well today for you. I haven't had a stitch put in before. Thinking of you!
AFM- I am just hanging in there until my ultrasound next Thursday. Hopefully, the lining will look good along with the blood work. I did get a surprise this morning... my husband came home from his deployment early. I am really glad he will be here for the transfer and the PIO shots( I really didn't want to have to tell you all how I past out on the first PIO shot I gave myself, lol) which I could totally see happening!
@Lavendar83 so wonderful that your husband came home early!
Since I was so anxious all day about whether AF would get here in time I literally did a google search for how to make your period come sooner (what have I turned into? Haha!). Surprisingly there were some websites that had lists with all sorts of things to try. I drank some ginger tea and sat under a heating pad for like an hour while watching TV last night. And this morning I have some spotting so I think AF is coming, so I'm feeling optimistic that I will be able to start tomorrow!

I have my ultrasound and blood work scheduled for tomorrow morning. Hoping that my lining is starting to grow thick and estrogen is that a good level.
@Monica54321 I hope everything goes well today for you. I haven't had a stitch put in before. Thinking of you!
@jodes727 Good luck today!!!!!
@hopefullily I hope AF shows up soon for you!!
Take care, girls!!!!
