Re: September Randoms
My Dh is doing every thing "right", he is just not me. My poor baby, and my poor Dh.

I literally was in tears a few days ago because DS wouldn't nap and only sleeps in (max) two hour stretches at night after his first 4 hour hour one. Like, literally cried, handed him to my husband and said " I give up. This kid hates sleep. " After another sleepless night, at 5am, I Amazon Primed the Zen Swaddle from nested bean. Hopeful, but not expecting much, i tried it last night/this afternoon. Last night, he slept from 8:30-2:30, then 3-5:30, and 6-7:30ish. Basically adding at the very least 1-2 hours per stretch and eliminating at least one total waking, not to mention being asleep early enough for me to watch a movie with DH before we went to bed. Today, he took a short morning nap in it (~1 hour on hubby) and then I put him down again around noon. It is now 4pm and he is still asleep. And he's asleep in the family room with the lights, the tv, the lawn mower, me in the kitchen...I'm mean, dead asleep for FOUR + hours....I've had to check to see if he's alive more than once. Bottom line: try it--I'm currently considering marrying it and it already has my first (and only) born son.
Long story short, we opted for the full size floor bed! He loves it, he naps there no problem most days and I've been able to put him down there around 8 every night and he'll sleep until I bring him to bed around 11.
@winnie1122 yeah I'm definitely not ready for him to not be sleeping with me at night, but I figure if I can get him sleeping the rest of the time in his own bed then when I am ready, it will be a smooth transition
At 18 months we transitioned DD to a full size mattress on the floor after she almost fell head first out of her crib. Luckily I was in the room getting her clothes ready to wear and caught her! It was a hard transition because she stopped sleeping through the night and started coming into our room 2-4 times per night. @stellaluna14
She does great at night in her bassinet so I'm hoping that continues to the crib in a few months.

@john5111 I had been doing coconut oil but was advised to switch to olive oil. Put on 30 mins before bath time and in the bath, brush the hair with the soft bristle baby brush after you have shampoo in. This has been working really well! His is almost gone. Although watch your babies hands- Elijah touched his head with the olive oil on it and smeared it in his eye. He was soooo unhappy.
Edit: to fix typos
