  • Has anyone heard of a correlation between dairy intake, cradle cap and spitting up?
  • I've been trying to follow the WW leap charts, but they don't seem to be lining up with anything I'm seeing. He's 10 weeks today so supposedly out of leap 2 and 9 days away from leap 3, but this week he has been so fussy (which is not normal for him at all, he's been a pretty content and easy to read baby most of the time up until now. He got his shots on Tuesday, could those still be affecting him? A rash showed up on both of his thighs where he got the shots and they had me bring him in yesterday to check on it, but they said it was probably just a reaction to the alcohol swab before the shot. Idk, but I haven't gotten more than 20 min in a row of not fussing today and he just now finally fell asleep in his boppy....time to try to get a shower before he wakes up again!!!!

My pediatrician recommended giving up dairy if my daughters spitting up didn't get better. I can't say if it's made a difference because I haven't yet. But there must be a correlation if he recommended it.
  • Back to work Monday....ugh
While I am actually looking forward to going, nothing is ready to prepare me for daycare and not seeing my son after all these weeks together...I'm so sad but I know it's for the best

  • @DachshundMomma My daughter is the same way. It's absolutely terrible lol. At times you can hear her from across the room and I'll think it's my husband. I guess go big or go home, right?
  • @shaylalr I just recently downloaded it and haven't had enough time to really decide! According to this my son is Still some days away from leap 2 but it sounds like many of the others really like it!
  • @shaylalr we are supposedly in leap 2 but I haven't really noticed a difference. It's nice to be prepared for when it happens. I've spent more on games than I spent on this app so I didn't think it was a big deal to get it.

Well it's definitely been an eventful week for LO one and us. Wednesday she developed a rash all over her face and upper back. We made our way to urgent care and sat in a waiting room with a ton runny noses. The urgent care doctor ended up taking a look at her for a minute and declared it was heat rash and that it was itchy and uncomfortable but that it was my fault for letting her sweat. She ended our conversation with "if you don't believe me then talk to your doctor." Needless to say that did not go over well with me. (Her doctor ended up seeing her and stating it was a form of cradle cap and that it would clear up.) Fast forward two days, she has a cold and is super congested. The ER showed me how to flush out the mucous to give her some relief, but at six weeks old it breaks my heart to hear her like this and to have to do that at all. I blame the dumb urgent care visit on this and it wasn't even worth it
  • I hate to hear that @babycakesday! I hope she is feeling better. I've had some mix up between my LO switching doctors so in the mean time if anything is wrong he goes straight to the hospital. I hate urgent cares. I've had nothing but bad experiences.
  • @babycakesday I'm sorry! Ugh that's a way to reassure a scared new mom!!! Seems like they would know by now that we need to be put at ease and helped out, not shamed and blamed! Even if it's something we did without knowing it. We dealt with a rash this week too and it freaked me out! Regardless of what urgent care said, you did the right thing by taking your baby in. I hope her cold gets better soon :(

  • I just went to a music festival in my city tonight. I took LO out because he was getting hot. Literally a minute later a woman and her daughter approached us. We were talking about him and I  was looking down when her daughter reached out and tickled his arm. Commence the rush to find the antibacterial wipes.
  • @setosh @winnie1122 Thanks! As horrible as it feels to have to flush her little nose out, she slept 4.5 hours straight last night, woke up and ate and slept another 4 hours. It helped me feel better about having to do it. She seems more content and less congested today.
  • Good luck today @setosh

  • 9.5 weeks and I'm having AJ nap in his crib for the first time today...he's growing up so fast
  • 7 and 1/2 weeks old and he's in daycare and I'm at work....I thought I'd be beside myself but it's not as bad as I thought even though I'm missing him TONS right now. DH actually got emotional last night thinking about it. I just want to hold my baby :pensive:

  • @schaze I'm so jealous!! We're trying to transition L from the RnP to the PnP in our room. Not having any luck. Ugh!! However she seems to like the bassinet attachment that comes with her stroller. I'm wondering if it's because the PnP "mattress" is so crappy. I tried putting a fluffy blanket beneath the fitted sheet as well as rolled up blankies to box her in. Still not having great luck. Maybe straight to naps in the crib would be better?! Has anyone else struggled with the PnP?
  • @tiffrox81 my LO doesn't like the PNP but sleeps in the crib at night. I think it's because the pack n play mattress moves a little bit when he does and it wakes him up.
  • Well done to the ladies transitioning their LO's to their cribs. We had our first successful night last night! I won't expect the same for tonight though :)
I'm having the weirdest period. I started to get a few cramps Friday and had a small bit of spotting. Since then Ive had hardly any blood but still have all the cramps and crappy period feeling. I don't know what to make of it.

  • Anyone have tips on healing cracked nipple? My one side just won't heal I put breast milk after every feed and tried a nipple cream
  • @john5111 You could try using a shield for a day or two to give it a chance to heal, if your LO doesn't mind it.

My LC gave me a "recipe". Equal parts monistat, hydrocortisone OINTMENT, and bacitracin. I did 2 tablespoons of each and keep it in a tiny Tupperware container. It's amazing! I got everything at Walgreens for it.
  • Thanks y'all! I had a good first day at the job, but the LO gave my BF problems all day. He wouldn't nap and he kept spitting up bad. He's super cranky right now so I hope he finally gets some sleep!
  • @setosh So happy to hear your first day went well! It'll take your BF a few days to get LO on the same page as him. I know my DH had a really tough time the first few times he stayed with LO and I ran some errands and that was only a few hours at a time. Now a few weeks later, he's a pro a staying home with her plus she does a lot better too.
  • Polysporin worked wonders for my torn up nipples when we first started breastfeeding. Just be sure to wipe it off before baby nurses.
  • We have started having LO nap in her crib. She will sleep but not as long as her RnP. I think she's not a fan of the openness of the crib and it doesn't help that she throws a fit if I swaddle her arms. Hopefully naps start getting better in the crib and then we can transition to nights in the crib in the next couple weeks.

Yeah I agree! I will admit that LO isn't even sleeping for me. I can usually dream feed him and get at least 4 hours from him. It's 2 am right now and I've only slept for 30 mins at the most. He's finally quiet now so I hope I don't jinx it.
  • We had success in napping in the crib! He actually seems to like it. Now if o
  • I know some of you had some type of surgery following birth. I have to get my wisdom teeth out immediately, so I have a last minute appointment tomorrow. They told me I can't nurse for 24 hours after because of the general anesthesia. I can't find any information to support that! Anybody with experience? I don't want to pump and throw away perfectly good milk.

I'm no help, but I'd double check or confirm that with a LC and my OB. That's a long time!
  • She has her 2 month appointment today, thankfully. I am going to ask the pediatrician then. When I did a search about it all I could find were medical journals saying that it was perfectly fine to breastfeed as long as the mother was awake and could hold her baby. So I don't understand why they would tell me 24 hours when I am only going to be under for 10 minutes!
