Does anyone feel like they've hit the 3 month sleep regression?! Maybe it was just an off night...but she was up every 2-3 hours. Not unhappy and necessarily hungry (as I assumed) but up!! Now sleeping like an angel in the swing. Fantastic now that I'm two cups of coffee into my morning, lol.
I promised myself that I would enjoy and look positively on every aspect of parenting. Love every stage of childhood, knowing that they each have their own ups and downs. HOWEVER, DS' new habit of eating and/or crying (sometimes simultaneously) from 7-9 is very much getting old.
@theshannondee Yeah I'm thinking that's it. My neighbor called it 3-4 but I think you're right...more 4 than 3. Probably just a spurt. Hoping it doesn't happen back to back. This momma is tired!!
To the ladies who haven't gone back to work, what are you doing to keep yourself from going crazy? I know looking after you're LO's are taking up a lot of time but does anyone feel like you're about to lose your mind from doing the same thing every day? Orrrr is that just me?
@lf93 I try to do one thing outside the house every day. Either schedule a walk with a friend, go to the doctor, target or anything else really. I still get a little crazy though.
@LF93@sboston06 Yes stir crazy is something I battle. I'm happy the weather is cooling. I've been trying to get walks in daily. Go to a store even if it's just cruising the aisles. I've found wearing her in the ergo has allowed me to be able to do more around the house and keep up on chores which keeps me busy. Not going to lie tho, it is tough!! I'll be happy when her schedule is more predictable. That sometimes makes leaving challenging.

I've been tackling some projects like going through my clothes and cleaning out my closet and doing some fun cooking. These are things that I can start/stop as I need to tend to M. They're also things I can wear her to do. We also have been going for lots of walks, running errands, sitting on the patio, and as of this week, we had our first library visit and I got books for her. In the last couple weeks I can actually play with her too, which has been fun. For the days that's she's extra needy or I'm stuck on the couch I've been working my way through a couple different shows.
Omg yes - but my LO also hates her car seat and therefore any errands or her stroller. She does like her carrier so I try to take a lot of walks but I am losing it a little.
Yes for sure! I've got a scheduled girls night with my best friend every Thursday that gets me out of the house and with other adults for a few hours (even though I bring P with me, it still feels like a break!) I also try to do something productive and something enjoyable every day while I'm at home to feel like less of a milk machine/couch potato. Though I have made it through 8 seasons of Friends in the last week....in my defense I work on my tablet and feed the baby while it runs the background but still...

I was just saying today how L is drooly, which I find weird for an 8 wk old. My older daughter didn't have teeth till 9 months and am hoping this one is the same. It was so much easier when she was older! My sister's kids get them around 4 months!!! Shoot me!
Transitioning to the crib tonight. Normally she goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up at 3-4am. Then sleeps until 7am. Nope. Working on every 2 hours right now. I hope she adjusts soon!
Anyone do Just Fab for shoes? I just signed up. You get your first pair of shoes for $9.99 as a new member. So naturally I got my monies worth and picked $74 boots. They'll charge you $39 a month for the VIP membership (you get store credit) if you don't go in and hit skip month or cancel it by the 6th of the month, so I just set an alarm on my phone to remind me to skip it on the first. But absolutely worth it for $10 boots. Just thought I'd share.
I think I'm going to do a list of things that need to be done in the house and do them to keep myself occupied. A date night is definitely needed, I need to have a couple of hours of adult time. I'm hoping it'll get easier before I lose my mind haha
@shaylalr We're working on crib transitioning too. My gal wasn't sleeping as long as yours was but I can relate to the constant waking. I did find me staying in the room and helping to get her Binky back to her helped after two of her fidgety times. After that she did pretty well!! I'm just wondering when I'll be able to leave the room!!
I am planning to try and start transitioning C to his crib at night once he hits 3 months in another week and a half and I'm so nervous about how it's going to go! He sleeps pretty well for me in his swing and his RnP most of the time, but I haven't had much luck with his crib, even just for naps. He always ends up flailing his arms around and waking himself up. He's able to roll from back to belly now too, and although he hasn't been consistent with that I don't want to swaddle him and take that chance, which is the only way I've successfully gotten him to sleep for more than 15 minutes in his crib up to this point.
I know I've said this before in the past, but I was just looking at all of the 2 & 3 month pictures and the show me a baby thead and DANG we all made some cute little peanuts. Everyone toot your own horn and give yourself a pat on the back
@LDSJM123 I do enjoy your IG cooking stories! Everything always looks delicious!
I was so excited because we got E to nap in her crib a couple times last week. Fast forward to this week, and she absolutely hates it. I'm not sure what to do to help her get used to it. She hates being swaddled, the only things that soothe her are white noise and her pacifier, both of which we've tried. It's not a huge deal yet, but I'm getting nervous for when we want to transition to her own room.
We do a coffee run almost every day... Lots of playing on the floor... Running errands as needed... We got for a lot of walks in the neighborhood. Plus we just joined a mommy and me group. E doesn't love his car seat much though so sometimes its more work than its worth.
Those having trouble transitioning to the cribs.... does anyone's LO sleep in a pack n play in their room? We so and did the same with our other daughter and don't remember the transition being hard around 3 months.
@mrsmommya we went from RnP to PnP to now the crib. The PnP didn't work well because the mattress moved around so much which woke E up. I expected E to sleep in it for several more months in our room but in the end the crib was a much better option. We moved him to the crib right around 3 months.
I haven't tried to transition as my LO is only turning 2 mo on Sunday but any time we try to put him down in his crib he screams after 10 mins so I'm sure it's going to be hell.
We've started to put R in his crib for midday naps. It's very hit or miss. At first we were just laying him in the crib in whatever he was wearing and he wouldn't sleep long. So then I started putting him in his sleep sack and that has seemed to help. I consider it a success if I get an hour nap out of him. I'm dreading transitioning him to the crib full time. He just started sleeping one 4-5 hour stretch at night and he's 11.5 weeks. I don't want to go backwards!
Have any of you found toys/gadgets your LO really likes? We were thinking of getting Camille one of those piano mats where she kicks the keys cause she seems to like that at daycare. Ideally we'd want something she could sit up in and play but I have no idea what would work at this age. She's almost 12 weeks.
@Heathereaddy We have one of those mats. The one with the piano at the end and the bar dangling above right? My guy is 13 weeks and will kick it but I don't think he's made the connection yet, I think he's just kicking to kick. That said, you can adjust the piano so it's upright when your LO can sit up and they can use their hands for it and it also detaches completely so it can be carried around when they're walking age. I did a bunch of research before I bought it looking for toys that could grow with him and it got great reviews. It may just be a little old for them yet. If you've seen she likes it at daycare then it's probably worthwhile.
My baby is 12 weeks. She loves her play mat the most. She also loves the soft lovies that jingle, her teething ring, and the oball. They are easy to grab and she puts them in her mouth. She will also suck on her blanket for a long time and be happy.
My kid laughed today for the first time!!!!!!!! I thought I heard wrong and then he did it again for DH...now I'm going to be trying to get him to laugh all.the.time.

Have any of you heard of Fifth Disease? Or slap cheek syndrome? My little guy has a super rosie cheek on one side so I googled it and Fifth Disease came up. It says it's contagious to children but doesn't usually cause issues. It can make them fussy and irritable and can make them sleepless. It would make sense because we have had a few rough nights, but it just seems so weird. I think I'll call my pedi in the morning to be safe, but have any of you dealt with this?
@arhodes6 - Yep fifth disease is super common, but usually would involve both cheeks and typically comes with fever. Can't think of anything else that would do that though. You haven't noticed any swelling or tenderness to that cheek?
@mnkenned hmmm yeah it's just the one cheek. No swelling or tenderness. DH thought it was a sunburn, but that is practically impossible because I'm super diligent about the sun being on him when I go on walks. Not sure what it could be! I'll report back after I talk to my pedi.
Our guys have the sniffles...and I have to say...nose frida....AMAZING
We have one, but haven't used it yet. I did get it out when M had her first little cold last week, but the tip seemed too big for her little nostrils. And real talk... The idea of sucking the snot out freaks me out too. So I was a little happy it didn't seem to fit yet.
@LDSJM123 I felt like the nose frida was too big too, but it worked out just fine when she had her cold a few weeks ago. I like it as much as the bulb. Not to mention by the end of her cold, I was a pro at using both. I got over the sucking aspect of it pretty quick.
How do you guys put your babies down to nap? Mine refuses and will stay up for 6+ hours and just be super fussy. I've tried everything - dark, quiet room, same place that she sleeps, same routine. She just screams. I had given up on naps a few weeks ago when she was going through leap 2, but I'm trying again to get her on a schedule. I try to put her down as soon as I see her yawn or rub her eyes, but it's not happening. Even if I feed her to sleep, she wakes up in 10 minutes screaming (swaddled or unswaddled). She sleeps 6 hours through the night, which is awesome, but I'm about to lose it because her not napping = epic tantrums and me not being able to nap or do anything throughout the day. Help!
@mnkenned I am so sorry!! That is really rough. It sounds like you are doing everything right! Have you tried white noise? Things changed drastically for us when I started using rain sounds. She used to hear me talking and start crying. We still have our good days and bad days with naps
@mnkenned Oh man, we've had days like that in our house too. It's tough! I agree, it sounds like you're doing everything right. What about baby wearing? If she sleeps while with you, maybe wear her so you're hands free. I know that isn't a perfect answer. I've also done a long neighborhood walk and then pushed the stroller back in the house and let her finish out some sleep there. Same with car rides, if we get home and she's passed out.
This was me for at least six weeks he's gotten better I've found if I get him to nap an hour after being up it seems to help so I have a swing? He hated ours till recently but now will take long naps in it inplay the music on it and it has to be on highest setting otherwise before I'd have done luck letting him sleep on me for thirty mins then laying him down
