I had to have a emergency d and c last week and one nurse told me 24 hours but I reconfirmed w ob doc and he said I was fine to feed 4-6 hours after just to pump and dump once I was paranoid and waited about 12 hours I hated dumping my milk
@shaylalr I was thinking about it and after my csection I panicked and they put me completely under while they finished getting the placenta and stitching me up. I breastfed her a few hours later. The nurse did tell me that I had to be fully awake before I could do it. I would just ask the pediatrician when you're there. Maybe the dentist's office doesn't know what is truly safe so they just say 24 hours?
I know when I was pregnant my dentist was SUPER conservative about my care. My OB wrote a letter stating I could have laughing gas when I got a crown, and my dentist still refused to give it to me. So maybe your dentist is being extra cautious too?
My milk supply is crazy for having had a breast reduction. I literally leak like crazy when it's been more than 3 hours in between feedings. LO sleeps roughly 7 hours thru the night and when I get up to change her I'm drenched. I've just taken to not wearing a bra or top because I soak myself lol. I was changing her on the ground this morning and leaned over her to grab the wipes and had to wipe her face because I splashed milk all over and then had to change my pajama pants cuz I soaked an area the size of a grapefruit. I even use pads in the bra when we're out and I can soak them too it's ridiculous.. I feel like a fountain lol. Anyone else have crazy leaky boobs?
@AshGee18 I leak a ton too. I wear a bra 24\7 with nursing pads and I can't stand it, but the thought of my shirt or sheets being wet drives me nuts. It usually happens after 3 hours and I pump every 5 hours (trying to go longer between to make it easier at work and slowly stop pumping all together).
@austinjl I was getting so many cramps and generally felt like crap and only had the tiniest amount of spotting. I think this is my period this month but it freaked me out so much that I took a pregnancy test to be sure. I think it can go either way-really light or really heavy.
I don't know if it's just me but ever since I gave birth I cannot find a deodorant strong enough to last all day. I find that i am having to reapply constantly no matter how much im sweati g or whatever. I apologize to those that have to be around me lol.
@DachshundMomma me too! Degree has always been my standby and even worked great through my half marathons....but nothing works for this postpartum body!
I'm definitely in the stinky armpit club, @DachshundMomma. What the heck?!? It's all I can do to shower daily, which isn't helping I'm sure. Does this go away eventually?!?
I'm kind of crunchy and use a natural deodorant called LaVanilla made with lavender essential oils. It does absolutely NOTHING now. Not that it worked that great before but it's worthless these days. I now just accept the fact that I smell like lavender and BO. And spit up. Ah well.
I was told by my sitter that her son has a small fever but my son can still come to daycare tomorrow (her son goes to another daycare for socialization). Is my son okay to go to her house? Or will her son's fever germs still be there even if he isn't??? I don't know much about fevers.... I was only going to drop her for a few hours while I go to a dr appt. thoughts?
I'd imagine that if she has a home daycare, she's used to and good about cleaning/disinfecting. And your son doesn't put toys in his mouth yet or even play with them yet. I'd send him if he was mine. But I'm not too much of a germ phobe either. Honestly, I think exposure to some germs is s good thing.
@amyspohr I got mine resized because I was sick of not wearing it! My feet grew a half size (so shitty because now I have no shoes!) and I think my hands grew too because I had to get it sized up quite a bit! My mom told me her feet and hands grew with each pregnancy. I am going to be able to palm a basketball and have to wear men's shoes if my hands and feet grow with the 2 more kids I would love to have! Pregnancy is so weird.
FUCK this week. Let's just move on to Sunday. I'm having blood pressure issues (again), people are being jerks and baby has been fighting naps. Has anybody else found a different word of choice to use? Because I realize I won't want to cuss forever around my baby.
Anyone still fighting the baby acne? LO was completely clear until 6 weeks and now at 8 weeks it's just getting worse. It'll look okay in the morning but as the day goes it just flares up badly. It's starting to get dry and flakey mainly on her cheeks so I've started putting baby lotion on the dry parts in hopes it doesn't break her out more. It's breaking my mommy heart!! Ugh.
@tennisbabymama My LO had what I thought was baby acne on her cheeks in the beginning as well but then it got really dry and even flaky. I tried applying baby Aquaphor on her cheeks and it looked a lot better the next day. Maybe give that a try? Did the baby lotion help at all? My pedi said it'll go away over time but for now to keep using the Aquaphor.
I just stepped on the scale. I have gained 15 pounds since 6 weeks. I am back up to my delivery weight. Momma is going on a diet starting Sunday (I have a BD party tomorrow for my 6 year old.)
So MH usually sleeps in our spare bedroom because he's up early for work and I sleep in our master with the baby in a pack and play. I guess I've gotten used to his little sleepy noises because I wake up when he fusses or cries but not if he's just grunting or babbling a little. My MIL is visiting so last night MH slept in our master bedroom. 6am he gets out of bed and picks up the baby. I ask him what's wrong and he said the baby was awake. OK...was he fussing? No he's just awake. I'm annoyed because he would have settled himself again and I was still sleeping, but at least he's calm. So he brings the baby out to my MIL who shrieks and coos at him and 2 mins later there's a crying baby being thrust into my arms. He didn't even change his diaper first. So now we're both up 2 hours earlier than usual nursing while MH is contentedly watching TV in the living room. I could've killed him.
Ok, kind of wierd, but my baby has the stinkiest butt ever. Not just after he poops.. I mean, he needs a bath every other day at least because he already has grown man "swamp ass." my first son did not have this. I think it's kind of hilarious...anyone else have babies with swamp butt?

After reading somewhere that it works, I took some expressed breast milk and applied it to my son's baby acne and it cleared right up.
@jennyleigh16 If it makes you feel any better, I've had very similar stories in our house. Poor DH thinks he has a bright idea with things to try/do with the baby...but the second it goes south she's handed right over to me and I'm expected to fix it. SO ANNOYING! It especially irks me if I tell him "I wouldn't do that if I were you." or "She isn't usually real fond of that." Ugh!!

I cant smell myself. But what if I'm really smelly and just immune to it?!
I feel gross.
Those stories are exactly how it plays out at our house too! "She's hungry!" At just about any noise and fussines she gets. @jennyleigh16
