  • Poop...lots of poop...literally I've gone to the bathroom 4 times today (it's only 6:45pm)...and I went 3 times yesterday...i googled it and I think it's a normal pregnancy thing but worry every time my husband says "again?! Are you sick?"

Ugh I've been having this too the last few days. Then I think of the pre-labour diahrrea poop stories (mine is loose TMI) and think labour is pending.

  • @RG1 tmi but mine is loose too...I'm trying to stay positive that it's a sign baby girl is coming soon!

  • So I'm starting to think I have PUPPP, my stretch marks have had bumps for almost a week which are severely itchy.  I've been using GoldBond Anti-Itch lotion and it mostly works, but over the last couple days I now have itchy dots/inflamed hair follicles all over my thighs and a few on my arms.  My appointment isn't for a week, tempted to try and go early but not sure what she could do besides steroids...
  • @erinmarie86 @RG1 I'm jealous-- I haven't pooped a real poop in dayssss.

  • dealing with loose and frequent poops too. I'm 36 weeks so I hope it doesn't mean I'm going to start labor too soon!
  • @pinkspartan15 I wouldn't worry too much.  I know it can be a sign for some, but I went through that about a week or so ago (so also around 35-36 weeks), and baby is still holding tight for me!  My poops have gone back to normal (or at least, pregnancy normal), so it might have been a hormonal thing, or maybe just as baby started to drop lower there was more room for things to flow?  Or both...or food?  LOL, pregnancy bodies are so confusing!

  • @Jabreenog oh good! I have an appointment tomorrow where I was going to ask my doctor about it. Hoping it just that everything is so squished together now and baby plans to stay put for a few more weeks!
  • So, the weirdest thing just happened. I got like 4 or 5 really sharp cramping type pains within about 25 minutes in my low abdomen. Like the type of pain that makes you press a hand to the spot, lean forward, bring tears to your eyes type of pain. I chugged a bottle of water and laid down and the baby started moving like crazy for a few minutes then he relaxed finally and I've had no more pains since.

I've never really had BH and I'm pretty sure it's not labor, so just random cramping or baby dropping? Maybe I overdid it yesterday?

I was going to run errands this afternoon but think I might stay in bed instead.
  • @geminigirl16 Since they went away, I agree that it wasn't true labor.  That doesn't necessarily mean not a contraction though.  I haven't had ones that sharp or frequent yet, but I have also had abdominal aches and pains and OB confirmed the baby was pretty low in my pelvis at my appointment yesterday.  Whether it's baby movement, BH, or gas (or anything else!), if laying in bed keeps you pain-free, I say go for it!

  • Thanks @jabreen, it just helped to mention it somewhere. I'm so happy it went away but man, was that a rough indication of what is coming soon. My day has definitely become more low key than I'd planned.
  • @jhems776 there's a test they can do for pupp, hope that's not it for you! I got the crazy itchies, but just on my belly, with DD and tested negative for whatever they look for that indicates pupp. I tried mama butter, anti itch lotions, oatmeal baths, etc. The only thing that helped was Benadryl. I was already so tired all the time that I barely noticed the extra tired feelings. But it made baby sleep, so I freaked out a bit that she wasn't moving. If it keeps up, maybe you can move your appointment up to get checked out? In good news, it didn't last until the end of my pregnancy, and got a little better after a few weeks.
  • Has anyone just been chilling out and all of a sudden the bump moves up and down, very symmetrically in an almost pulsating motion? But smoother? I don't know how else to describe it... it's not like hiccups, it's almost like she's breathing? I remember someone mentioning that baby's take practice breaths in the womb, I haven't really experienced that yet so I'm wondering if that's what it is.

@yellowrose314 Yes! I've heard this can be practice breaths or sucking their thumb

Yep!! I got a few videos of her taking her practice breaths where I'm holding my breath and the bump keeps "breathing" with the same pace as when we've seen her practicing on ultrasound. I didn't believe it was a thing but found some videos of other bumps doing the same online and then the doc confirmed it.

  • I am 35+5. I had a nagging headache Wednesday night and all day Thursday. I finally took some Tylenol last night and that seemed to knock the throbbing down. When I woke up this morning my headache was gone but I just felt strange with some swelling in my face. I just came back from seeing my midwife. My blood pressure was the highest it has been this pregnancy 132/84. No protein in my urine. They did a blood draw and will have results tomorrow.  My husband has been out of town for 2.5 weeks and comes home on Monday. I'm trying hard not to feel panicky but I am nervous that I'm showing signs of preeclampsia.

Any words of wisdom for me? I've been chugging water and avoiding salt. Trying to rest and keep my stress levels down. Not sure if there's anything else I should be trying.

I was just going to post about this, in a very similar situation. We were waiting for the ferry the other day to come back home from the mainland, and my feet and lower legs swelled up so much you could leave a finger print in my ankle (pitting edema). I felt pretty faint, but it was hot out. Got home and took my BP and it was the highest I've ever seen it 145/99, so I called my midwife. Had a full panel of blood work the next morning and my BP had come way down but the swelling remains, with some headaches, so I've been monitoring it. Liver enzymes were fine (elevated LFT's are a sign of pre-e), so they're just having me monitor my blood pressure 3 times a day.

I've been getting a few headaches the last day or so, drinking 3-4 litres of water a day and using Tylenol if I need it. My midwife recommended epsom salt baths (cold ones since it's hot, they've been lovely) and I've also been doing foot baths to bring down the swelling. My BP has stayed under 140/90 the last couple of days so I'm happy but if it goes up again they want me to start doing biweekly NST's rather than just weekly. Definitely feeling nervous about it, but I'm just trying to stay calm and keep reminding myself that there's only so much I can do at this point besides monitor, drink lots of water and rest.

  • @yellowrose314 sorry to hear you are dealing with this too. i have to admit it's a little relieving to hear a similar story.   I'll just keep chugging water and hoping the next few weeks go by quickly.

If liver enzymes are good, no protein in urine, and headaches go away, do they still worry about you having pre-e?
  • Does anybody else feel pressure in their butt when they have a contraction?  It's not all of them, it just feels weird.

  • @mamadomino I definitely do!  Similar to you, it's not all the time but does happen quite a bit.  I always assume (hope?) that it's because baby is getting lower and putting pressure down there but who knows...

Is anyone else having inner thigh spasms when LO moves or during a contraction? It's gotten to the point where I can't stand/walk when it happens :s

@ivassaq They'll probably continue to monitor you. My mom gave me her at home blood pressure machine, or my midwife advised I go to the pharmacy and get it done there. Pre-e usually has a very quick onset, so they'll be keeping an eye on any associated symptoms

  • @mamadomino I've been getting random contractions that have been a lot stronger than my typical ones, and with those I feel tons of pressure on my butt and pelvic area, some pain down there too because of the pressure. With those, it's like I can see my belly "bearing down" and then feel the pressure, I'm guessing since baby's so low and the tightening is pushing everything down?

  • @yellowrose314 just curious - when did you get your TDap booster?  I got mine on Tuesday and my symptoms started Wednesday. I'm wondering whether there's any correlation.
  • @JennM205 and @AlwaysAuntNeverMom thanks. It is such a weird sensation and good to know it's not just me!

@RG1 I started getting some shooting pains down my thighs when I walk, but it's mostly in the front.  I assume it's something weird with the position of a baby or my body just giving up.

  • @ivassaq I haven't gotten mine yet >.< I get it on Monday. I wouldn't think what you're describing is from the vaccine though, none of those symptoms are associated with it. So there may be correlation, but no causation.

@mamadomino Haha your body giving up. Perhaps that's what happening to me. I figured it was baby laying on a nerve or something. It's the weirdest feeling to have your inner thigh cramp!

  • Today I was feeling great and then while I was driving all of a sudden I got so dizzy and tired I thought I was going to pass out.
It's now 3 hours later and my head is absolutely pounding.
    When should I call?
I have no swelling or anything like that.
I'm nauseous but I'm always nauseous lol.
I know I'm not dehydrated because I've been drinking soooo much water today

  • @Megan324 have you tried any Tylenol? I've felt like that on days I've over exerted myself, haven't eaten enough, or gotten too hot. The pounding headache is the worst.
  • @ivassaq today I did all 3 so that's probably all it is.
I just ate for the first time since 10 this morning so I'll take some Tylenol soon

@megan324 GIRL you gotta eat sooner than that! I notice dizziness if I don't eat - let us know if it helped!
