I finally made progress on the nursery! Bookshelves up, dresser bought, laundry done and clothes put away. Whew! I think it just took having a 4 day weekend for me to get sh*t done!
Well, it's better than nothing... DH rearranged the bedroom so we could fit the crib. That's my dresser in the corner, but I'm thinking I may empty half of it for the baby to use. And the framed picture is a triptych a local high school student artist whose been working with my museum made custom for me It's the sweetest thing- the left panel is supposed to represent me, the right one represents my DH, and the middle one represents the baby So freaking cute! I plan to hang it over the crib.
We rent our condo and decided to not paint the nursery, it is a light brownish-grey. But I am doing a Muppets theme! We have many Muppets wall hangings, a Kermit clock, and lots of Muppets figurines and stuffed animals. I haven't had a chance with work to start putting anything up yet, but I have 2 weeks vacation soon so I am starting next week!
@SarahDarah333 I am in the same boat! Nursery in the bedroom. We just got the dresser put in a week ago. I may not have a lot of space for this LO, but maybe next time! I am happy in our cozy apartment. Seeing this every day makes me so excited for our little boy to come!
This will seem like nothing to many of you, but I'm just excited to have started something! We have purple sparkly floors and are hoping to get walls and everything else done for construction this week and weekend. I just bought this and am working with an Etsy shop to get some artwork as well...so at least I have a theme and am starting to find things to fill the room!
Our room is slowly but surely coming together! We bought the crib and glider off an auction site...the crib has a few dings we need to fill in but not too bad for 40 dollars!
Just finished with painting. White chandelier will be put up this weekend. Still need curtains. I have the matching valances to the bedding set I attached picture of. Furniture will be all white. Wish I had more time!
I'll share @veramali Ava's room is done. the bumper will be removed once she starts sleeping in her crib. As for her clothes, I should probably get on that! Tons of laundry ahead
@seitzy3 that is gorgeous! I have a guilty pleasure of lurking other boards just to scan the nursery threads. I live vicariously through more talented mom's, haha.
@RG1 Love the owls! Where did you get the owl wall decal?
Thank you! They sell it at buy buy baby I believe. Whatever the American equivalent of home outfitters is, but I ordered it online through home outfitters. The sheet set and mobile are at BRU. It's called "lambs and ivy" dena night owl collection
It's not 100% done...there's a bookshelf on order that will go next to the glider (marked with blue tape on the wall) and I need more decorations for the shelves....I know curtains would really bring the room together, but I'm being a cheapskate....I dunno...
See, and someone mentioned that they stalked other month clubs to look at THEIR nurseries and now I have to do that too, because seeing the for-real results of people's creativity and ingenuity is even more satisfying than Pinterest.
@OBMommy super random, but was it you who was doing the flamingo theme for your nursery? I did a search and thought it was you. Anywho, I got this gray hamper with a pink flamingo on it as a gift and it doesn't overly match our room / theme. I could turn the flamingo backwards I suppose, but that defeats the purpose. I don't know where this Samy & Jack brand is sold. If I can't figure out where it came from, would you be interested in it?

Stuck in the box but yes, that was me! And yes, I would definitely buy it off of you if you can't return it
@OBMommy Great, I'm going to look around and see if I can't find where it came from, but if not then I'm happy someone else could get use of it! I will keep you posted!

A good friend of mine who is the craftiest person I know helped me with my frame collage vision for the baby's side of our bedroom, picked up a bunch of frames from Michael's and the thrift store and repainted/glittered them. We went with a gold, grey and coral colour scheme. DH helped me hang up all the frames tonight and it turned out EXACTLY how I wanted it to . Still need to paint the change table and set up the PnP, but it's coming along nicely!
Middle box with the while edging will be a shadow box that we are going to fill up with hospital bracelets, name tags, newborn photos and stuff like that. Empty frames will be maternity shots/newborn photos. And the quote in the white frame on the left is from Winnie the Pooh "If there ever comes a day where we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever". The quote on the bottom says "though she be but little, she is fierce".
@yellowrose314 I LOVE it! It's beautiful in a nursery but I'd love to have this sort of frame collage in my office or somewhere else in my house! Wonderful style.
'Bout to blow this place up..... Picture of DD's "big kid" room. (Big kid is in quotes since she's still in a crib.) The only thing that's missing is one 8x10 print, so there's a blank frame on the wall.
I'm OBSESSED with nursery threads! So many creative ideas that I just love. It's been making me want to go to a craft store and go bonkers.
We can't fully finish the nursery until after the baby shower this weekend because (I'm not supposed to know this) my mom got some really really wonderful art prints for LO that need to go in a prominent spot. She's giving them to me officially at the shower but she showed them to me early because she gets excited over giving gifts and couldn't wait to show me after they came in (I'm the same way!).
Also, we don't know what other decorations we'll be getting, so I haven't bought anything new or hung up anything else! I'm glad the shower is this weekend, because I've been aching to finish that nursery, especially after seeing all the other awesome finished products here on this thread!
