LMAO at everyone milking themselves! I never leaked with DD (although she was born at 34 weeks, c-section because of pre-e) and it took maybe a half day for my milk to come in after that?
@krzyriver I haven't lost any, but I have been holding steady (within a pound) the last 2 months when I weight myself in the morning. I have been walking more though and figured that was evening out my weight, thinking I was losing fat but gaining baby? But my MD wasn't worried so neither am I.
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
@emmaaa True. I remember reading somewhere that everything goes to baby first, so I'm sure he's fine. Probably didn't need to worry, but I've had a stressful pregnancy all around. Lol
@Kaytee1087 I also lose a lot when I'm doing a lot of walking, so you could definitely be balancing out between you and baby. I see my OB tomorrow, so I'll ask her. I just always remember her saying that she doesn't want her patients to eat more or try and gain in any way because you always pack it on in the third. So I was thrown by the loss!
I hope UPS has wrapped up my crib mattress really well. It's supposed to be delivered this afternoon and the rain has not stopped since I got back from lunch! Definitely don't need that to get ruined before it's even in the house!

@krzyriver I haven't gained any weight this pregnancy, and lost 2 my last appt. Baby is fine and measuring on track, so I must be gaining baby and losing my weight. HOWEVER, I am on a strict diet because of GD, so I don't think my input really counts.
Oh my gosh you guys... what on earth did I miss? All of this milking sounds like some kind of strange subcategory of pregnant fetish porn. Post a few sexy bump pics and all of a sudden everybody's milking themselves...

@f47 I'm on the "gained and still gaining" train. I just keep reassuring myself by saying I'm still in the "normal gain" range. But @krzyriver I think losing weight/holding steady is probably totally normal too. Baby is getting bigger and taking more calories, so if you're eating the same amount as you were in the second trimester, you probably won't gain. From what I've read, the third trimester "goal," all things up to that point being ideal, is 1/2 lb a week on average.
@ibabyloveb87 Speaking of dumb shi!t doctors say... when I was pregnant with DS and was rotating around to all of the OBs at the office for my appointments, I got to meet an exceptionally unpleasant old curmudgeon.
I was sitting in the exam room waiting, as you do. The door opens. He walks in and the FIRST thing he says is, "You waited a while to try this whole childbearing thing." Not, "Hello," not, "Nice to meet you, I'm Dr. so-and-so."
I said, "Umm...I was 29 when I got pregnant...I'm only 30 now." And he said that it was unusual these days for women to "wait so long." Ooooook. First of all, we struggled to get pregnant. Also, let me get on out of here and get back to the kitchen where I belong, sir.
Andplusalso, isn't he wrong? Surely more women are having babies later now than back in the day when they got married out of high school.
Anyway, he was the worst. I was SO glad he wasn't on rotation when I delivered or during my hospital stay.
@AllyTheKid It was one of the most perplexing moments of my life. I didn't even want to throat punch him, I was just so confused. Not even offended, just like...WHAT? I think because I knew I wasn't "old" to be getting pregnant that helped.
But, I can imagine if he said that to me, he was saying it to all of the AMA moms-to-be, and that could be really hurtful. I hope he's retired by now.
Come to think of it, I should've said, "You're a little old to still be doing this whole doctor thing..."

LOL I'm waiting for hubby to finish work and I just broke out laughing
@F47 I wish you would have said that! I'm still a bit taken aback, I see LOTS of late 20's early 30's moms at my office, I don't understand how he would be surprised by your age (which I didn't realize would even be remotely considered "advanced"), or how he would think a comment like that is an appropriate ice-breaker? Only thing I can think of is maybe he assumed you're an FTM? Not an excuse for his verbal diarrhea though.
In other news, FI's grandma is in her 80's and keeps forwarding me stupid pro-Trump chain e-mails... uuuuuggghhhh! Whoever taught her how to Internet is fired.
ETA: I was 32 when I had my first and I'll be 34 when I have my second. I don't feel like I waited too long. I would not have been ready when I was 26.

@ignoscemihi Yeah, my doctor was very clear when she said she did not want me increasing my calories at all, even in my third trimester. But I'm a big girl and gain weight easily, so I assumed I'd pack weight on anyway. Definitely didn't expect to lose. But you're right, baby is getting bigger so that makes sense. I guess I'm thinking about it in relation to me and what my body normally does, not how big baby is and what he needs. I'll mention the loss tomorrow, maybe she'll change her tune about my calorie intake.
And I'm so sorry I brought up weight guys! I know better and wasn't trying to make anyone feel bad! Was just flabbergasted and wondered if anyone here had seen the scale go down in this or previous pregnancies cause I avoid Google whenever possible.
@krzyriver It's totally fine to bring it up. We all just want healthy babies. Ever since my doctor told me one of my proteins in my blood work was low, I've been agonizing over my weight gain and the size of my belly. Is it big enough? (I'm only five feet tall). Have I gained enough? (I feel like I have reverse body dysmorphia, where I'm probably big enough, but feel small). I know these are questions for my doctor, but she was so nonchalant when she mentioned it (at the end of my appointment as she was walking out the door!) that I didn't even have a chance to process it. I'm anxiously awaiting my growth scan on Friday and hoping there's nothing wrong with my placenta and that the baby is getting all of her nutrients.
Made two As in my summer semester of school! But I'm looking forward to taking the fall off to focus on baby girl. I haven't taken a break from school (mini mesters and summers semesters) for 3 years. Looking forward to taking some time to crafting, organizing the house from our move, and welcoming baby girl!
My MIL took me to get my nails done and a pedicure. She's currently wrangling my toddler while I get a foot massage and then we are going shopping and to Sushi for dinner. It's like Christmas.

I've never related to a post more than I do with this one. Lol
seriously random: I just turned on the tv and Moulin Rogue is on and it is the Elephant Love Melody scene. I seriously get turned on listening to Ewan McGregor sing. And the part when he sings 'I was made for loving you baby...' I seriously can't even deal. Maybe I should find my dh... Haha
Me too!! I could never play an instrument or sing but basically the only people I hung out with were band and theater people! I just worked backstage so I could be around them all the time.
I have been yelled at a few times for belting this soundtrack at the top of my lungs while in my room (ps I seriously can not sing at all so it was probably justified)
