@CopperBoom86 I'm only ever so slightly larger and not leaking at all either! I've also been reading about how I should be leaking.... is this something that everyone should be doing? Or is it just a symptom some women have?
Have you squeezed your nipples at all? I'm not "leaking" but if I squeeze the nip, little beads of colostrum pop out. My mom breastfed all of her children and she said she never leaked. Bodies are weird and everyone is different. I wouldn't stress about it!

@copperboom86 and @bamacoop I'm also only slightly larger and not leaking. I've got a very strange inverting nipple thing going on though. They are also very dark right now. I've been worried about nursing as well since lots of things say there should be leaking already.
@bamacoop@CopperBoom86 totally normal! I just had my breastfeeding class last night and it's totally normal not to leak (or to leak, either way is normal. I know my mom said she never leaked prior to having me or my brother and she had no issues nursing). Size also has no bearing on ability to breastfeed. According to the nurse, we all already have the colostrum (I think after week 20 or 25) baby needs, whether we have big/bigger boobs or not. Also a helpful tidbit was that week 36 is a good time to go get measured for nursing bras.

I'm ample in the bewb (this made me giggle) area, too - DDs, which have just plumped up/filled out a bit more and NO leaking yet either (not that I'm complaining...). I've read your milk comes in shortly after birth, so I haven't really been too worried. Should I be leaking??

My bewbs haven't grown much, at all. I was a small D cup before and now I'm a fuller D cup. I'm totally cool with that from a cosmetic point of view. I have zero desire to be larger. But it does make me concerned that I won't be able to BF. Is that dumb? All of my apps say they should be larger AND leaking. Mine aren't larger OR leaking.
Exactly this. I haven't had to change bras at all, which was worrisome for a while, but I'm sure things will change when the milk comes in.

SAME LOL. I just attempted to milk myself for, like, five minutes in the work bathroom. No colostrum, but now I'm totally turned on.

I was just about to head to the bathroom myself but my nipples are super sensitive and turn me on like no other so figured I better wait till I'm home and FI can benefit from it!
Good call, @mizzkbrat. I was so excited at the prospect of producing colostrum that I didn't even think about it turning me on. I thought it was funny, so I texted DH and he was less than amused. He said "So, you've turned yourself on AT WORK. What am I supposed to do with that?! "
I'm thinking in mid-September, DH and I are gonna have ourselves a freezer meal cooking weekend. Stock the freezer with soups, stews, sauces, etc. Meals good for like 2-3 weeks.
Do you guys have any tried and true recipes that freeze well?
Sorry guys, didn't mean to start a nipple squeezing party! I just meant to point out that "leaking" can mean different things. It's not necessarilly wet spots on your shirt. I wouldn't have ever noticed if I hadn't accidentally figured it out and since my mom said it never happened to her, I never would have worried about it either.

I'm also not really leaking, but my boobs have grown 2 cup sizes! I squeezed my nip the other night to see if it would invert or not. Something weird I was reading, don't judge. And that's when the first bout of colostrum came for me. Everyone is different, maybe some people just have looser nipples. Ya know, easy. Not classy and put together like you non-leaking nips.
also +1 for the inevitable bewb job I will one day get.
OMG. I haven't been on here all morning and I just had a good giggle at everyone squeezing their nips! I never leaked either and had a very successful nursing relationship with DS. Everyone can take a deep breath.
@annabenanna Totally interested in good freezer recipes. That's probably worthy of a separate thread!
Just in case you were all waiting on an update - I, too, attempted to milk myself a bit and I think we have some success! I am assuming the tiny bit of clear liquid that came out was colostrum. So, I got that going for me.
P.S. I am also now slightly turned on. Though I'm sure some boring accounting proposals will take care of that shortly...
Hahaha hah speaking of nipple gifs, I went to breastfeeding class last night, and the guy in the front was taking a picture of every slide. It was probably for reference, but he's going to have some weird nipple pictures in his phone
So I know that weight is kind of a taboo subject around here.... but I have to ask this. Has anyone *lost* any weight recently?? I'm 30 weeks and change. Last time I weighed myself was about three weeks ago and I was steadily gaining. But today I'm down 3 pounds. I eat about 2200 calories a day and I'm not even eating particularly healthy. Is it normal to have some weight loss this late in the game?? I assumed I'd be going up continuously from here till the end....
Hahaha! @spaceburger at our breastfeeding class, when the slide came up that showed what babies' poop should and shouldn't look like ALL of the dads pulled out their phones and took pictures. I'll let DH keep that one on his phone for reference if we need it lol
This topic may be worth it's own thread where we can share make ahead recipes... but... @annabenanna - my bestie and I have the 28th of this month planned to do that. We did it once a little while before my BFP but did this GIANT meal prep thing. It took us a little longer than it took the lady on the website but we ended the day feeling like it was worth it.
Here's the website with all the crockpot meals. We made every recipe on the list because there's a giant shopping list that combines all the recipes for you to make shopping easier. I put in an online order at my local grocery store and let them do all the shopping for me. The only thing we didn't love is that it's A LOT of chicken for dinner. If we do it again, we'll be more selective with how many of the chicken recipes we do. Let me know if you have any questions about taste on some of the recipes. I'll tell you if I can remember https://whoneedsacape.com/2012/11/crockpot-freezer-cooking/
Other really good things to make for early meal prep include - lasagna (but I just buy stouffers) - chili (I have a quick, delicious, and easy recipe, let me know if you want it) - soups (example: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/autumn-chowder) - Roasted Red Pepper and Goat Cheese Alfredo (this recipe is AH-MAZING. Like one of my staples. I typically double the goat cheese b/c I love goat cheese and add 1/8-1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes, depending on how spicy you like things. I'd venture to say you could make the sauce ahead, freeze in a ziplock, and just thaw and pour over pasta when you want it. https://www.laurenslatest.com/roasted-red-pepper-goat-cheese-alfredo/)
@krzyriver- I lost 2 lbs at my appt yesterday, so I'm only up 4 total. My MD wasn't worried at all. My previous appt was right after 4th of July weekend so it could have just been that I was leveling out again. Also, because I asked about getting on some antidepressants, she knows I'm under a lot of stress right now, which could be contributing. I'll worry if it continues... but, right now, I'm not tracking anything, just eating when I'm hungry and trying not to be too crazy with the fast food.
just beware @krzyriver... if it's the 40 meal make ahead... must love chicken. A LOT. And, yes, for anyone considering doing it, get help! My friend and I were SO glad we had each other to do it with. We turned on Pandora, she cut up chicken while I took care of labeling/starting bags and measuring all other ingredients.
OH- @annabenanna and @krzyriver - let me know if you don't love bone in meat and want the conversion from the bone in prep to chicken breast amounts. I looked up the conversion b/c my friend's H doesn't like bone in meat so she did chicken breasts only.
@krzyriver At my first appointment I weighed 183 and now I am at 178. I had lost a bunch early on and hadn't gained anything until my most recent appointment, I gained 1 pound. I think the baby is getting what she needs and my body is losing in other areas.
@bnsmith85, holy moly! i opened the link to the 40 meals thing.... and I'm scared I won't have enough room in my freezer for that! lol. Also, I love bone-in meat. Chicken breast to me is so tasteless! I'd rather eat cardboard. LOL.
@annabenanna haha... It definitely took up a lot of room, but everything goes in a ziplock bag and lays flat on top of the other meals so it's not as bad as it seems. That said, be picky... take out some of those chicken recipes and just go with the ones that sound good to you With that many recipes, you definitely have the luxury of being selective.
I got this outfit in the mail for baby.... it's an H&M zippie, and I got it at 50% off. Size is 1-2 mos, but it seems so big!!! Still so cute though. I can't stop buying baby clothes, you guys! Even though DH side eyes me every.single.time I get something because "you gotta wait till after the baby shower!" (So I got it shipped to my office, so he won't know.) hahaha
@krzyriver... here's the other meat to breast conversion so you can change up the recipes as you like: 1 chicken breast is the equivalent of: 2-3 thighs 3-4.5 drumsticks 1 leg quarter
Late to the discussion but all of y'all's milking attempts cracked me up! Most of my friends never leaked and most all were successful with BFing for several months so yay for that.
Literally LOL'd at the googling nipple GIFs. Can't remember who it was now and I'm on mobile - sorry for the lack of tag.

On the tittie train, I'm leaking. Lots lately. My boobs went from a small C to a full DD (current). I'm going to have like triple J's when my milk comes in.
DH already promised me a mommy makeover of new boobs and anything else that needs repair after babies.

For the pulled pork mentioned in the link above, you're not going to want a full pork shoulder of bbq.
Recipe link below is a pulled pork taquitos with chipotle ranch dipping sauce that's delicious. Fix it with a bag of the 90 second spanish rice and a side salad and you have a full dinner. Plus, it's super easy:
