@MrsVoorhees we are twinning today because I read it the same way hahah
Didn't we do another post like that too? I swear, my brain is a jumble right now.
so funny thing, we thought we had come up with a middle name for Claire. We both liked Lydia, and decided on that, and then when I went to work I was being a girl and writing her name over and over, and realized Claire Lydia looks and sounds like chlamydia. So in this case, it's a good thing my brain always overthinks.
We had our first day of swimming lessons today and I'm pretty sure DD got water in her ears. She has tubes and they told us we only need earplugs in untreated water like the ocean or lake, but I wish we would've just worn them today. What should I do? Will it just come out on its own?
@MrsVoorhees, Ok, a few months ago I literally DID think my husband was missing and I was freaking out!!!! Long story short I got home and his motorcycle was here, his combat boots, his uniform, wallet, phone, but not him. So I'm like, he went in a run. Then two hours later he's not here, so I'm like, maybe he walked to a neighbors. I went through all our stuff and his tennis shoes were here, his sandals, I couldn't find ANYTHING to indicate he had left! Finally at like six hours later and it's dark out I walk around the outside of the house to see if he had like, who knows and was in the grass. I looked behind doors, the garage, closets, everywhere freaking myself out and preparing for the worst. I was about to call his boss when I went to the guest room and he was passed out SLEEPING!!!! I thought he was dead!!! I was so mad at him too!!! I sleep in the guest rooms during the day BC I out up blackout curtains and I work nights, he's never in there, and the door is always closed.
On the other hand I did buy him a book! AND I'm a nurse! And I talk about these things with him!! It's just like, in one ear and out the other. His dad is the same way, I always hoped he wouldn't be TOTALLY like his dad but he's becoming more and more like him.... his dad said, on speaker phone, that I decorated the nursery too blandly and I needed to add color to stimulate the baby. 1) RUDE 2) I snapped back loud enough for him to hear "Babies dont see colors but thanks for the opinion!" And then they both started talking about how I was wrong.
Oh, here's a good one for you, I was taking a women's once a day (before getting pregnant) and offered him a vitamin and he FREAKED and refused to take it because it was a women's vitamin. I told him they are literally the same thing but with folic acid and maybe calcium. He still refused it like it would make him sprout a vagina.
@RN1stBae I totally didn't believe you just now about babies not seeing color, but a quick Google confirms you are (of course) totally right! This has totally thrown me for a loop tonight. I didn't ever take an infant development course, but somehow none of the courses I took for my Biology major ever covered this information. Thanks A&P professor. Also you, biophsychology/brain development prof.
@RN1stBae my husband has had a few moments like this too....despite the books I've given him and everything else, he said to me a month ago when I talked about packing our hospital bags, "wait, they need to keep you overnight?" REALLY?!??!
@MrsVoorhees I have totally been a girl too and have been practicing writing her name. Today I was writing it out on DS' Aquadoodle and it was freaking me out! Making things so real
Speaking of baby names (btw @MrsVoorhees that was hilarious) I am having baby name regrets. Well, clearly I can change it because she isn't here yet but still, I hate being so indecisive. I keep getting told that our name is pretty but doesn't go well with the other girls names.
@seitzy3 are you unhappy with the name though? Or are bitches making you unhappy about it? They will only be introduced together for a short time, then they'll grow up and have their own lives. I think Ava is beautiful and goes just fine with your other two names. It's not like you chose Moondust and Galaxy for your oldest, and Sara for this one. If you like it, don't worry about other people.
@seitzy3 I think that the sibling names "going well together" is a bit of a non-issue. Really, the only time people will see them all together in a way that might invite comments on "flow" is a card of some sort. I don't think DH's brothers' names all flow with his, but frankly, I never think of them as a group like that. If you have an attachment to your soon-to-be DD's name, use it! Everyone else can suck it up!
@MrsVoorhees it's always the bitches being bitches haha but yes we love it. But you did give some great alternative name options
@Jabreen I agree. I don't understand why this girls name needs to flow with the other. But bc this one doesn't have a "lyn" sound at the end I'm getting shit from specific people. So her name will be Ava Madelyn but I keep hearing I should just name her Madelyn because it flows better with my other girls names. Well how about no, bc I don't like that name enough to be our first!
This is why I lie and tell people we haven't settled on a name yet.
Is anyone else feeling like the stress of getting everything ready for baby is starting to wear on their marriage a little? DH and I have been taking everything in stride for the most part but we are feeling some strain these past few days for sure. We both feel like there is a never-ending 'to do' list and everyone seems to want us to be somewhere on the weekends. It is tough to say no to all of the invites (trust me we do say no to a lot) but some of the things we get invited to, we WANT to do but it is hard to enjoy them. Lately it just feels like we are stressing, not sleeping, and feeling distant from one another. I was hoping that with my pelvic rest being lifted that he would take me in his arms and have his way with me but he hasn't been into it. Which of course in my hormonal state makes me feel crappier. I am trying not to overthink things but I am trying to figure out how we can carve out time for ourselves AND get everything done while not disappointing anyone (especially MIL who is super needy of our time). Anyone else feeling more tense lately?
*Update: DH and I talked after I posted this and are on much better terms. We reconnected on the intimacy level (HALLELUJAH!) and I feel like we are back on the same team. Now we just need to work on setting boundaries with family (ahem, MIL) and ensure we take the time we need for ourselves as a couple and to tackle our 'to do' list.

@seitzy3 okay, so next time tell fhem that "bitch" doesn't flow well with their siblings names but they seem to be doing fine. Problem solved. Ava Moondust is a beautiful name and they should shut it.
@MrsVoorhees I taught LO to say chest. Now she points to one boob and says "chest" and then to the other one and says "other chest." Not that she can pronounce it correctly. Her ch- sounds like there's a t in there so it sounds more like test or tist. Strangers will probably think I'm teaching her something much more vulgar.
Woke up with terrible back ache yesterday, lucky I had a prenatal massage booked. Walked out of there feeling brand new...only to come home to my 14 month old...guess I'll need another one soon.
This week has been crazy busy and flying by! I've barely had any time myself and thus barely any time to get caught up on here. Training my replacement while also covering responsibilities for two other people currently on vacation is draining.
I still can't believe I'll have a baby in 8-9 weeks, like others mentioned, seeing birth announcements in August is thrilling and frightening all at the same time!
@blondie080300 Thanks for the suggestion about taking some classes to help alleviate my fears on delivery/labour. They are scheduled and I am sure will help me a lot. Also, my MIL also mentioned recently that we are cutting her out of things because we haven't immediately updated her after each appointment and I didn't immediately jump at her offer to come and help me set up the baby's room and god knows why else?! Umm..yeah..needy? What about my mom who hasn't even gotten the chance to see me pregnant and probably won't?
@seitzy3 This is the reason that we have just started telling everyone that we are waiting until birth to determine the name and giving out decoys. I am so tired of everyone's unsolicited opinions on the name of my son.
@fireflygirl12 Good luck next week! I'm also on my own next week thanks to out of town training for my FI although I don't have two littles to care for. You've got this!
@MrsVoorhees The comment about the names you like gave me such a good laugh! Reminds me of the episode of the IT Crowd when Jen couldn't continue to date Peter File because it sounded too much like pedophile.
Ok, just read 90 posts since yesterday. Trying to remember who said what (as If I'll ever be able to)
@AmMcc12 - I haven't read The Book Thief.. The Fault in our Stars is cute but caused some ugly crying over here - might not be safe for the road if you're the one driving.
@PoodleDoodleOoo -YES! It is little Cooper-man! Thank you... using his name makes him so real.
For kids saying funny things, my nephew about a year ago (3 at the time) was having breakfast at our house and started yelling for my husband "UNCLE MAAAATTTT UNCLE MATTTT!" So my husband hurries over and with a finger in the air, Easton announces "When you're in the tub, don't forget to wash your UNDERRRCARRAIGE!" We all just about died with laughter and he had the biggest grin on his face, he was so proud of himself. We're not quite sure if my BIL has called it that or where he came up with his twig and berries being called an "undercarriage" but we say it all the time about Emmett now. "hey.. he pooped an hour before tubby and I only wiped it up pretty good.. make sure you wash his undercarriage, ok?"
In other news.. I got to work early, decided to run into walmart beforehand to buy more colace (I have already started the daily taking, since I'm on iron now too). That walmart has a Dunkin Donuts inside, so I grabbed a frozen dunkaccino.
Then I got to work and realized today is our "company summer bbq" at noon.
I was just scanning through HDBD, and was reading FTM as "For the moment"
So when @RG1 said Team Green FTM I thought oh! Maybe she's considering finding out the sex! Then I see @AlwaysAuntNeverMom say Team Pink FTM.. and I'm all ... wait, whaaaat? Team pink for the moment? I don't think it's going to change at this point...

We are due for our unannounced licensing inspection at work, and today is one of two days that the director's vacations overlapped, leaving me in charge solo. I don't do this stuff because it's not part of my job, but I'm anxiously hoping she doesn't show up today. She probably won't show up past 11, because there's a lot to get through. 50 more mins and I'm hopefully in the clear!

@MrsVoorhees I am still laughing about that... not that there's anything wrong with naming your daughter Chlamydia
@AmMcc12 I haven't read the Book Thief but The Fault In Our Stars is great! Fairly quick read, so I feel like listening to it would go by even quicker.
My random for the day.. I'm off for a prenatal massage in a few minutes! Hallelujah. I cannot WAIT!
@RG1 - let's be honest, I'm sure you wrote Team Blue and because of the FTM throwing me off I just completely couldn't read.
Having Wednesdays off is amazing, but it makes Thursday morning pretty equivalent to a Monday morning for me. I look at my calendar ALL DAY to figure out what the date and day of the week it is.
*whine alert* Just getting DD breakfast and out the door for MDO this morning has left me sweaty, achy, and breathless. All I could do when I walked back into the house is plop my big self onto the couch. I didn't get hardly any sleep because on top of pregnancy insomnia I don't sleep well when DH is out of town. Can I just do nothing the rest of the day?? The smallest activities exhaust me. I don't know how I possibly have 7 more weeks of this.
I don't remember what thread it was where multiple people were recommending a striped t-shirt dress from target, but I love you all. Finally found it in store and I never want to take it off.
Thanks @lovelylauren86 . I will update my post because DH and I had another chat before bed last night and finally had a breakthrough. We both agree that we are in a good spot with preparing for LO but it is the stress from the family and all of the pressure and expectations we are feeling (mostly from my MIL) that is making us super anxious about not having enough time to ourselves and to get ready. And then we reconciled the way I have been waiting for 11 weeks to do! Funny how much calmer I feel this morning....

@geminigirl16 Is your DH the only son? My H is an only child and never had a serious girlfriend that his parents knew so I feel like she is having a hard time adjusting to him having his own family and having to share all of these experiences with my family and friends too. We had 3 ultrasounds total and went straight to MIL first to show her the pictures and announce the sex. DH texted her pics from the 2nd ultrasound. But because I posted pics of the 3rd ultrasound on FB (the 3D pics had me so excited to share) before DH could text her, she got all mad and said she feels we should WANT to share everything with her first before the world. Good Lord....
Same with decisions for our baby shower that MIL is helping my mom and sister with. If you follow my post in the baby shower thread, you will read how sensitive she is being and unloading her feelings on DH even though we have nothing to do with the shower.
DH and I are super anxious about how much worse the sensitivities and neediness will be after the baby comes.

Sooo.... I'm currently chilling in L&D. Everything is fine now but it was an exciting morning. Started at 4am when I woke up with the worst stomach cramps! Thought I was goig to be sick but nothing happened. The cramping got worse and worse, I was nauseous, and then contractions started at 5:30. I had six in an hour so called my OB and headed to the hospital. By the time I got here, contractions had slowed considerably but they took labs and are giving me fluids. No major contractions on monitor but a very "irritable uterus". Also, had a cervical check and am 1cm dilated and 25% effaced. Not a cause for concern but at 33 weeks is notable, at least...! All that and it's only 9am!
Company luncheon: Used to be a BBQ put on by the cafeteria here at my office building. People complained. This year they announced it was pizza. People REALLY complained (my heart jumped with joy). Then they announced that it would instead be catered by a popular restaurant known for their seafood. So the menu is lobster rolls, clam chowder, and for those who don't like seafood.. chicken tenders. Uhhhh, how about for those of us that are vegetarians? WAHHH! They have wicked good french fries, but apparently we ordered little bags of chips instead.
Pretty pleased that I brought my PB&J in case there's nothing for me but chips... which I will eat more than my share of but come on now. Mama wants pizza.
