@Jabreen, my MD told me I could do Zantac 300 twice a day for a week and if my awful heartburn didn't resolve to call back for Nexium. Just got home with my Nexium
@fireflygirl12 I had a panicky moment this morning looking at the July Announcements thread. For some reason seeing pictures of recently born little babies had me going, "oh, wait, this baby inside me is real and this is happening!"
I'm torn now somewhere between not being remotely ready for Sept and dying for it to be Sept. I need time to finish getting things done for her, but I'm ready to meet my baby (and, honestly, be done with the GD).
@Thscary. I havr the opposite thing going on. I keep asking my husband to go buy ME beer!! Because Lienenkughels Summer Shandy's are my favorite and they only sell them during the summer. If I wait till the baby comes to get them myself they'll be gone! Also, I ask him to get me like, a suitcase, not a stinking six pack and he looked at me like I was an alien. Now he's gone for a month and every time I drive by the gas station I almost pull over....
Buy yourself the beer. If anyone says anything, screw them. (Also love summer shandy. And Sam summer ale.)
Someone should start a thread of "Things Kids Say"
I have good news!!! For anyone keeping track of my move, we have a lease on our apt till Sept 5th or until some else rents it. They said it takes a week for them to clean and list it as available after we turn in the keys. I've been looking at their website daily and called today to complain how it wasn't up yet (it's been almost two weeks). Found out it has already been rented and they move in on the 16th! So we will only be paying an overlap of three weeks not two and half months! Happy early birthday to me.
@Annas930 - glad to hear baby Cooper is doing great in there! (He is Cooper, right? Or did I mix that up with someone else?)
@RN1stBae - I hadn't thought about it before, but now I think I'll make DH get some Summer Shandy to stock our beer fridge near the end of August! ... and Yes, we have a full-sized fridge that is solely for beer.... occasionally other booze, but mostly just beer.
But mostly.....
Thanks for all of those who responded to my self-pity party. I knew there was a reason I felt I could share my debby downer feelings with you all, and I appreciate the gentle pants kicking reminders that this is all temporary, I'm not the only one, and I can and will get back to my excercise and weight management loving self when it's time and that as long as everything is looking healthy, things are looking good.
I got McKenna's old clothes hung up in Layla's closet last week. Because I'm a nerd, I keep going in there just to look at them (also McKenna weirdly loves playing in her sister's room). Seeing them hanging is weird to me. They still feel like McKenna's clothes, and it's giving me this disconnected feeling that they're actually for the new baby. (The new clothes I've bought feel like they're Layla's, though.)
DD1 is fixing to be 3 and she calls a vagina a "tootie" & a penis a "winky" I'm not entirely sure where those came from but w/e. She's understood that girls have tooties and boys have winkies for about a year now but just recently she has become fixated on it. She loves to randomly tell strangers that her & mommy have tooties but Daddy has a winky & a mustache. (Again no idea why she adds his mustache in that description) My husband was even in gym shorts the other day and you know you can vaguely see the outline in those, anyway she started pointing and giggling at him and when he asked her what she was laughing at she ran up and grabbed his junk through the shorts and practically yanked it off saying Daddy your winky is showing!! I about died, my husband screamed and now we are teaching about personal space lol.
@VeraMali my daughter calls a vagina a peach. It confuses her a little when she sees the fruit.
Random rave of of the day - dh will come home tomorrow before going off again. So I will get to see him for about 5 hours haha but better then nothing!
Also the doctors went well today and they checked my cervix to make sure I wasn't dilated. Midwife gave me the A okay to travel this Friday. I'm still a little nervous but if everything looks good and she isn't worried then I guess I shouldn't be either
holy shit, i'm definitely joining the no-sleep toddler club. DS has been in his crib for the past hour, singing to himself and saying "Happy Birthday" over and over again. His birthday was over a month ago and he may not see another one if he continues to jump up and down screaming. I could so use a nap today, this heat kicks my ass.
@VeraMali Bahahahaha, I literally lol'ed and snorted at my desk. Thanks for sharing. I've been loving everyone's stories too. My story is well I guess my mom's of my brother and I. I'm older than my brother, and one day while taking a bath my mom walks in with my brother (we were little) and he looks down and screams and shouts "JHEMS WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR PENIS??!?!?!" My mom tried explaining but he was convinced for a while that it could fall off. My mom loved to tell this story and in better detail all the time.
When do we switch to weekly OB appointments? How do you guys know if you're measuring ahead of what week you are? OB telling you? Mine hasn't said anything about being ahead but that I've gained a lot already. yeah okay lady, i'm not even half of what i was last pregnancy...
@chavezrd2 I switch to weekly appointments at 36 weeks. At my 32w appointment, they had me schedule the rest of my visits coming up.
They always tell me how I'm measuring when they measure the fundal height and I've been on track ever since my first ultrasounds (4 days ahead due to ovulation day but they don't care for such a small difference). I'd ask how your fubdal height is looking if you're interested, but it's not the most accurate of measurements.
@chavezrd2 I have my first weekly appointment at 35 weeks, but I'm having twins.
My OB's don't do fundal height measurements, so I've only ever known if one or both babies were measuring ahead when they measured them on ultrasound. I've never been told whether I'm measuring ahead, belly-wise, although I know I am (because twins).
@chavezrd2 aww! We got one at 30w and it was fun, although we couldn't see her face well even though we went back to try again. They do them at 26-32w for most places so time is ticking! The place I went to does them up to 30 weeks and they recommended I go in earlier for my next pregnancy since baby girl is already head down and with her face against the placenta.

Aww crap guess I'm out of luck already then. UGH!!! LOL, patience is not strong with me.....
@RN1stBae Keep me updated on how the nexium works. My ob mentioned I could switch too that or prilosec pretty much whenever now, but I was trying to use up the Costco-sized supply of the stuff I had before. Worth getting the new if it works, though!
Aw yay!! I just got so excited because I totally understand! I am currently in the, "no idea where she is" wagon. I can't wait to know where she is in there.
In other random news in case anyone was following this saga as well. I found or rather my parent's found someone to drive from the hometown back here with me. I'll pay to fly her back then. So here is the super odd part, it is my parents' friend I've never met. They have been very close with this couple for the last two years (I've been gone for three) and has already sent me a gift and will be at my shower. It is much cheaper than the two flights and two taxis option, hope the 8-10 hours won't be too weird. Wish I would have locked in flights over the weekend, they jumped 70 bucks....
@PSUBecky23, my husband missing it is somewhat of a real concern for me. He seems absolutely clueless, I don't know what the hell is wrong with him or if he really is that clueless. 1) Last week we argued about whether full term was 36 weeks or 40. He had to "confirm" my answer of 40 on Google because according to him and the land of people with no uteruses it is and always has been 36 weeks. 2) The one appointment he went with me to he asked me if that is where I was going to have the baby. At the doctor's office. And he was serious. Then he asked me where he was supposed to take me when it's time if that's not it. TO THR ONE AND ONLY HOSPITAL HERE!!!!!!
He's an intelligent person but I really want to shake him sometimes.
@RN1stBae Oh my God, that's...incredible. I'm sitting here speechless. I want to laugh (because seriously?) but I feel so bad that you have to put up with that level of cluelessness!
@RN1stBae eek. Maybe get him a book. Or make him watch some birthing videos on YouTube. My husband definitely appreciate the business of being born. It's on Netflix.

I'm really struggling today and I read this as, "my husband is missing and it's somewhat a real concern to me". I was so upset for you hahaha

It makes me sad that someone from our group got hit with the ban hammer. Most everyone here is so nice and easy to get along with.
