All I want is to leave work, go to our movie theater with huge leather reclining chairs, watch Finding Dory, eat a pan of brownies with ice cream on top and go to bed. Is that so much to ask?!
@MrsVoorhees McKenna has been a late teether, too. First one came in at 10.5 months, and they've all been on the later end of the typical schedule. Her top canines are almost all the way in, and the bottoms have been looking like they're going to break through at any time for the last month. Hope your daughter's break through soon. And that she has all her teeth. Lol.
Also, McKenna's pretty obsessed with my boobs right now, too. I do the same of saying "boobies" when she points to them, but she's not repeating it yet. It's enough that she constantly points to them. Haha. My oldest nephew is 8 months older than McKenna and a couple months ago, he got out a naked Barbie and kept pointing to it's chest saying "boobies, boobies" over and over. I thought it was hilarious, but I think SIL was embarrassed.
Ugh. Guys. I want to throw myself a pity-party over here. My weight gain is seriously out of control and I feel like there is nothing I can do to stop it. I'm up 33 lbs and I'm only at 30 weeks! I know some people just gain what they gain, but it just feels like so much when I have so much more to go. My doctor didn't seem concerned when I last visited (at 28 weeks, I was up 30 lbs exactly), but I sure am. I feel like my self-confidence and esteem are at all time low. I've been trying to eat more fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and less junk and have been succeeding for the most part, but still my weight just keeps on creeping. I feel like I can hardly go up and down a single set of stairs without losing my breath, and my exercise has been limited to daily walks with the pup. And I hate feeling so helpless!
I don't know what I'm expecting to get out of sharing this - I'm thankful baby and I are both healthy and all that, but I dunno. I just want my body to be my own again so I can actually do something about my weight and how I feel - exercise more vigorously, train for more 5ks, go back to calorie/portion controlled meal plan, etc. I feel anything but beautiful and full of life (despite what others so kindly say). I guess I'm just having a "feeling low about being pregnant day" or something.
@PoodleDoodleOoo just here to say I completely hear you. This was me last time and this time too, my pounds basically match my week count all the way through. As hard as it is, try not to overthink it, nobody is going to say you did a bad job while pregnant because you gained 40+ pounds. We are certainly in the home stretch, remember how much of that weight is baby, fluids, uterus, etc. You've got this, and in 3 months you'll be setting goals for when you want to complete a 5k with or without stroller (wee!!) And getting your groove back. We've got this.
@poodledoodleooo getting out of breath easily is totally normal for pregnancy. Your lungs and diaphragm are all compressed and the hormones affect it too. I get out of breath just sitting. But seriously, if your doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either. I know that's easier said than done.
@PoodleDoodleOoo sorry to hear you are feeling low about pregnancy and your weight today. I'm glad your ob wasn't concerned, because that could definitely lead to you feeling even worse. It sounds like you're taking really positive steps, like eating more fruits, lean meats, etc. A few weeks back I had a bunch of gain in one week, so I started to track what I was eating with myfitnesspal. I put in I wanted to gain 1 lb a week, so it gave me 2500 calories to eat each day. I quickly realized within a few days of tracking that even though I was eating when i was hungry, I wasn't really eating the right stuff. For example, id have 2 cups of OJ for breakfast, which was WAY too much sugar. I also wasted 440 calories on a muffin, where I could have spent those calories on something better like cheese or avocado. So even though I didn't use it to scrutinize myself and my choices, I kind of just used it to inform my choices. If anything, it also helped to see that I wasn't over eating, and that I was eating the recommended calories for the recommended weight I should gain each week (1 lb per week). I don't know if that's something you think would be helpful, but it helped me! Just make sure you don't put in that you want to lose weight. Remember that you are gaining to grow a baby!
Ultrasound was great, the placental lake is nothing, hardly there. Baby boy is measuring right around 33-34 weeks in all categories with round little cheeks and lots of fat stores on his belly the guess was 4lbs10oz today, which my sister pointed out is more than her daughter weighed at birth! Crazy...
Also might be on the teething train. E is 19 months today but has been a super early teether and has had all 16 teeth for maybe 4 months or so. He's been chewing his fingers lately and crying out a few times at night... I'm not ready for 2 year molars.
@PoodleDoodleOoo I feel ya! 2nd trimester I loved the way I looked, but now I just feel massive and can't wait to get out and exercise with Baby! I don't know if your doctor has talked about protein intake with you...my midwife is really on me about this. I am supposed to be getting about 90 grams/day which I absolutely am not, but I do feel way better about my diet when I reach for protein-rich foods instead of sugary crap and it keeps me full longer.
Also, I got out of breath putting on my eyeliner today haha don't feel bad! Everything is just compressed!
@PoodleDoodleOoo I echo what the others are saying. I also wanted to add that you shouldn't feel bad about feeling bad. Some days are great for me, and I feel like I've got the glow. Others, I just feel like nothing I own fits, and people are just humoring me by saying nice things. We are all dealing with the regular pressure to have a "great body" on top of the increase in hormones from pregnancy. Hang in there!
@PoodleDoodleOoo I understand how hard it is to beat yourself up. I'm not up much total this pregnancy, but because I started out at a higher weight this time, at my 30 week appointment I weighed as much as I did at my last (39 week) appt with my first. I gained 14 lbs from 30 to 39 weeks (all in the last 3 weeks) with my first, so I'm freaking out about how much I could potentially weigh at the end of this pregnancy.
Eating healthy and getting moderate exercise is the best you can do. You're still gaining while doing that because you and baby need it. I know it's easier said than done, but don't focus on what the scale says, especially since your OB isn't worried. You've got 2-ish months left, and then your body will be yours again. You can do this!
OMG so I just had 6 packages delivered to my house and it was the items off my baby registry from my friends mom. At first I was like YAY! and called her to say thank you but then she goes. UHM WHY were they delievered to you?!? and then ranted/yelled about Target for like 10 mins while I am just on the phone like ohh...uh....idk...
So she asked me to bring them to her house so she can wrap them and give them to me at my shower.
@Megan324 Haha! I had 3 delivered yesterday and it was soo exciting! I can't imagine having to give them back! Kind of odd, but I get it. At least you know you'll have them again soon!
@Megan324 That's awesome that she got them for you, but a little weird she's demanding you give them back so she can wrap them. You already know what they are and have them in your home. I don't see the point, even from the gift-giver's POV. But I definitely LOLed at the whole predicament.
Also, we've had issues with Target's online ordering as well. Love the store, but have lukewarm feelings about their online services.

Same same, I was told to not even make a Target registry because lots of people have issues but I made one at the request of my moms family that don't live near BRU or BBB.
Also on the teething train here. DS1 was a super late teether, so he was getting most of his teeth at the same time as DS2 (who was a much earlier teether). DS1 didn't even get his 2yr molars until after he turned 3! DS2 was well ahead of schedule until around 1yr and then he suddenly stopped. We finally had the two bottom molars pop through this past month, and I'm crossing my fingers the other two come before baby arrives, but no sign yet.

Same for me. Praying the last two canines come in before the baby is born, and that the 2 year molars come in well after. I don't know how we will manage nights if we have a teething toddler and a newborn.
I'm with you ladies on the no sleep train today. I've been sneezing like CRAZY the last few days (to the point where my ribcage aches) but don't feel sick so I'm assuming it's some sort of allergy...which I don't normally have so thank you very much, pregnancy. Haha. Anyway, due to the sneezing, I've been taking Benadryl at night for relief which - added bonus - has been helping me sleep. Last night I didn't take a Benadryl. I fell asleep fine but woke up around 1:30am completely uncomfortable, all congested, with a headache and heartburn. I finally got up to take a Benadryl and some Tums but probably didn't actually fall back asleep until 3:30ish. And of course when it was time to wake up, I was still in a Benadryl haze. Blech. Anyway. Lesson learned. Benadryl before bed, for SURE. At least as long as this allergy thing continues.
@camichael84 I was super fortunate that DS1 was some sort of unicorn child that was pretty much unphased by teething. DS2 on the other hand lets us know about every.single.thing.
Oh and about boobs - DD became fascinated with mine about a year ago. I didn't mind too much (I, too, wanted her to feel comfortable talking about body parts) but when she started poking me and saying "boobie" in public, it was definitely a little awkward!
Fast forward to now and for some strange reason, she calls them "booboos". No one else calls them that so I'm not sure where it came from but it's kind of hilarious. The first time she said it, I thought she was talking about an "owie" so when she said she has "booboos" and I asked where they were, she pointed to her chest. Lol. She asks a lot of questions, "Does Daddy have booboos?" "Do babies have booboos?" Technically, we all have nipples so I told her yes, everyone has booboos and she chewed on that thought for a loooooong time, haha!
@fireflygirl12 I had a panicky moment this morning looking at the July Announcements thread. For some reason seeing pictures of recently born little babies had me going, "oh, wait, this baby inside me is real and this is happening!"
Lol @JennM205 that's funny. My oldest is like that too with my tatas. But now she knows that boys have a penis (thanks dad) so I kid you not, when she meets a new male whether it's a kid or adult she says "hi. You have a penis???"
@JennM205 DD calls them booboos too! No idea where she got it from either. She's so funny. Near the beginning of this pregnancy, I was getting dressed after a shower and she was watching. She told me, very seriously, "Mama, I like your booboos." Why thank you, Hattie. "When I get big and I'm a mama, I'm going to have BIG booboos just like you!" I cracked up. You probably will sweetie...
After my 3yr old questioned me for the millionth time awhile back about how the baby comes out, I finally explained to him it comes out of mommy's vagina. So then he told a girl at daycare that a baby is going to come out of her vagina. Now apparently she keeps checking when she goes to the bathroom and is quite concerned.
On the topic of body parts: I'm also in the camp of call it what it is. My LO is only 19 months so doesn't say a lot yet and no questions. However, we went to vacation at the beach a couple of weeks ago. We all got in the shower together to rinse off and she just kept pointing at DH's penis saying "uh-oh" over and over, then checking me and her trying to figure out why we didn't have one!

Hahaha "uh-oh, does no one notice that daddy has a growth on his vagina??"

That's too funny and reminds me of a story a former coworker told me. Her daughter was about 2ish at the time and called everything down there (front/back/whatever) a butt. On two separate occassions she asked why Momma's butt was so hairy and then, another time, why Daddy's butt was so long. LOL!
Kids are hilarious when it comes to body parts! About a year ago DS was looking at my boobs and asked what they were for. I told him that that's how he and sissy used to eat when they were babies and that they had milk in them at that point. Without missing a beat he goes, "Oh. What's in there now? Juice?" Well played kid. Well played. DD also told me at one point (when she and her brother used to take baths together mind you) that she wanted a penis. Well alrighty then.
@Thscary. I havr the opposite thing going on. I keep asking my husband to go buy ME beer!! Because Lienenkughels Summer Shandy's are my favorite and they only sell them during the summer. If I wait till the baby comes to get them myself they'll be gone! Also, I ask him to get me like, a suitcase, not a stinking six pack and he looked at me like I was an alien. Now he's gone for a month and every time I drive by the gas station I almost pull over....
Re: July Randoms Thread
And back to trying to catch up to what is now probably 8+ pages...you ladies are fast!

I have never felt faster switch in emotion LOL.
It was just like a roller coaster drop hahah
