@MrsVoorhees That's crazy! I can't believe that reading the entire script for the training doesn't count as actually doing the training itself. Not to mention listening to your own voice is so uncomfortable! I always hated when my voice teachers or choir directors made us listen to our performances to self-critique.
@MrsVoorhees - awkwaaaaard. I hate when we get a cute video of Emmett and my big stupid voice is in the middle of it, sounding absolutely ridiculous. But i did chuckle out loud thinking about it

I hate when this happens, too, but I thought it was hilarious when DH got a video of McKenna swinging by herself at he park, and you could hear him breathing heavily in the background. I'm actually laughing now thinking of it.
@MrsVoorhees That's not only awkward, but seems unnecessary. What did they think you missed training on when you were reading it?

Some of my favorite parts of my own childhood home videos was hearing my mom in squeal with her excited voice while holding the shaky camera "Do you love your new pool?!" and "wow! Stephanie! That was a big splash!" you might hate it, but I promise your kids will love it in the future!
I ate the cheese on a hamburger roll that I had brought - I'm super unmotivated in the morning to make a good lunch, then lunch time comes and I'm so disappointed with my past self. My husband works late tonight, maybe Emmett and I will head to Panera for dinner
Full disclosure: I'm not a sub person. At all. I'm also not really a cold sandwich person, so I may be biased.
DH loves JJ's. I don't care for it at all, although I'd pick it over Subway. To me, it's just an overpriced sub sandwich place. Nothing special at all.
Panera can be good (DH doesn't care for it), but I almost never get sandwiches unless they're paninis, and even then, it's a rarity. They have good soups (always get the bread), but they're not really worth the money, IMO. Everything else is decent but overpriced.
Re: labor partners
I agree that I'm barely going to have the mental energy to let family and friends know what's going on. I love you guys and want to stay in touch when the time comes, but I'd rather update with my birth story once the Wonder Twins are here and things have settled down.
I might post a quick update before heading to the hospital if things are calm enough, but I'm not banking on it, knowing that I'm likely to be too caught up in their impending arrival.
About birth - I had some quiet time after last delivery, sometime in the middle of the night - Emmett was either in my husband's arms or perhaps in the nursery. I couldn't sleep from the adrenaline still pumping from labor and grabbed my phone to give a quick "Emmett is here! 7lbs11oz, yada yada yada" I'm sure I'll do the same at some point during my hospital stay this time
@jas1982 don't be so quick to judge your active baby in utero! My first daughter was super lazy in the womb, gentle movements & all. She came out of the womb and hasn't slept or stopped moving in 3 years! I joke that she just slept the entire 9 months away and never needed it again lol. I'm hoping maybe I'll get the opposite effect with this baby since she's so very active in the womb maybe she will be my mellow baby when she comes out.

That is the sweetest thing. I hate when my voice is in the background of my nephews' videos but it made me all warm and fuzzy thinking my LO might like it when she hears it. Weird, lovey mommy moment.

My daughter never stopped moving in utero and has never stopped moving since she came out. Also hoping for a mellow baby. It's only fair.
Emmett was super active in utero, but never kept me up at night. Things have stayed about the same with him Earth-side. When he's awake, he is go-go-go... I seriously thought he'd break his jumperoo as a baby, but when he sleeps he is a solid sleeper as well (currently a 1.5-3 hour nap every day, and 11 solid hours at night)

My mom's dad passed away when I was 6 months old, so 29 years ago. When her mom passed away, we found a bunch of old videos and she kept saying she hoped her dad was in them. We went home and watched them and there's her dad, all young and healthy and I could hear her whispering, "please say something...please say something" and then he finally spoke and she cried. And now I'm crying. So one day, your kids will love those videos with your stupid voice.
Also, I love hearing my mom talk in our old videos, she sounds so young and new to motherhood. It's sweet!
Dragging this topic over from last weeks UO Thursday thread. I gave in last night, and let Emmett eat his corn directly off the cob - I still cut mine off, but husband took it as an opportunity to be allowed to eat his from the cob as well. Emmett was a FIERCE corn on the cob eater.. and cleaned the entire thing (and probably ate some cob). @camichael84 and @marajay6 and others who had chimed in on toddlers being cutie-patooties with corn. (Try to look past Emmett's sunscreeny greasy little head)
@AnnaS930 I didn't read the UO thread this week...you're telling me you deprive those you love the most of the absolute most delicious method of corn eating!?!? It's just not the same when it's cut off the cob. My husband said that he knew he couldn't be with his ex girlfriend anymore when she cut the corn off her cob. Sometimes, you just know.
The problem with summer? Swimmer's ear. Poor Elle was up part of the night and was crying half the morning because her ear hurt so bad. She kept asking when her doctors appointment was and was so happy when it came time to leave. Extra snuggles and quiet time for her (in addition to the eardrops, tylenol, ibuprofin and wax ear plugs for swimming!).
@MrsVoorhees - HAHAHAHA. I do not like the sound of people chewing, the crunch and SPRAY associated with really fresh corn on the cob.. nope nope nope. I don't wear mine food and I certainly won't be wearing my neighbors. I really don't like the feeling in my teeth either, started cutting mine off the cob when I was a teenager with braces and never looked back! But last night Emmett was almost grunting he was so wild about gnawing those little kernels off.. he just cracks me up, I'm sure it'll be happening again. But don't think for a second that husband gets a second pass!
I love me some Jimmy Johns but since we don't have one I got two ordered of nachos from Taco Bell and ate them on the couch. With the cheese cup balanced on my belly. I then proceeded to eat some Chips Ahoy in my bubble bath and guys, it was the best decision I've made in a while.
Also, my boss asked me this morning when I'm planning to deliver (with the caveat that she'll schedule a backup RN when I get close) so she could make our work schedule for August. We schedule all the inductions with the doctor's office so she also wanted to give me first dibs of dates. So...it looks like unless my OB objects (which he won't ) then I have an eviction date! Eek! It's suddenly so very real to see my delivery date on the calendar! Oh, and my date is August 22nd
@AnnaS930 I think I would just have to excuse myself to the other room so I could eat my corn how God intended and then come back to eat the rest of my food.
@MrsVoorhees I'm ugly crying right now. My mom was the exact same way after her dad passed. I hate being recorded but I know it will be important for my kid so I'm going to suck it up
@AnnaS930 I hate the sound of chewing too! If I am eating too I really don't notice but if DH is eating and I am not I sometimes have to leave the room!
Me: 32 DH: 31
TTC #2 since January 2018
Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
Copied from symptoms, because pregnancy brain + multiple open tabs.
Seems like my AC has decided to malfunction and is blowing warm air into my house. Set at 76, but I'm now at 82 and climbing. Definitely not helping the pregnancy swelling or hot flashes!
@MrsVoorhees I'm also ugly crying over here. At my desk. And thinking, with my dad's heath lately, that I really need to start carting around a video camera with me everywhere. OMG so much crying, so much!!!
Regarding sammiches, I will admit that I haven't had Jersey Mike's yet, but I vote for the vegetarian at Jimmy John's as the best!!
Regarding no AC, yeah, ours went out at work today. I made it until about 3:30pm before I started to get uncomfortable. I work until 6pm so just another hour or so to go. We have our lights off and fans going but it is sticky for sure. I am more worried about whether we are expected to come in tomorrow if it is like this. Ick! I hope everyone else with AC issues cool off soon too!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
Catching up; I always feel like I'm missing out on delicious food, due to being a Canadian.
@MrsVoorhees that is the sweetest. I hate being in pictures with my kids, but I try to make more of an effort to get in with them because I want them to have those memories when I'm not around anymore.
Thanks for the commiseration, guys, and I hope everyone else's AC problems resolve soon! DH took an hour off work to help troubleshoot our system. It looks like we have a sticky reversal valve, so the unit outside will start pumping cold out and hot in as if it were winter. We have it fixed for now, but the AC guy is coming tomorrow to make sure it stays that way.
my random is I went for a routine check up today and baby girl is finally measuring up to par (fundal height wise)!! My thoughts are she has shifted into a head-down position. Hopefully she stays put for a couple more months!! Woooo
