@marikkita12 I agree with the veggie recommendation at Jimmy Johns. The avacado spread and all the cheese makes that sandwich delish.
My favorite sub place us Penn Station. I love their Italian. Mmmmm....
@seitzy3 I'm glad your pups are okay. My dog attacked another dog once, kind of, and I felt so horrible. I was living in an apartment and the people above me had a dachshund. One day the dachshund got out without a leash while I was taking my dog (a Jack Russell) out. They growled at each other and then suddenly my dog had the dachshund by the neck. I don't know if you know anything about dachshunds, but they are very dramatic. So this dog is squealing like my dog is killing it. I'm screaming fruitlessly for my dog to let go. Thank God DH (who was my boyfriend at the time) was there. He ran out of my apt and got my dog to let go. Turns out my dog didn't so much as leave a scratch on the other dog. He was just trying to establish dominance, I believe. I apologized so profusely to my neighbor, who was very understanding and also apologizing for their dog not being on a leash. I can't imagine just running off in a situation like that without at least making sure the other dog was okay.
@Themaritimemama Hope your appointment eases all your worries about your little guy and that he wakes up soon.
@LakeR2014 I feel like I'm a broken record on this, but I rarely got strong jabs from my first. She just wasn't much of mover. As long as you're getting some movement, it's all normal.
Regarding LO giving scares with lack of movement, I had one night/morning a week or two ago where I was in tears. I usually get movement all night long and as soon as I wake up. I wasn't getting any night movement, and nothing when I got up when DH's alarm went off. None of my tricks were working. I ended up eating a pack of mini-brownies (not good for my GD, but I was panicking) hoping the sugar rush would do the trick. It did, thankfully, and then she was up kicking me for an hour. She could have kicked me non-stop the whole rest of the day, and it would have been fine by me, I was so relieved.
@LakeR2014 I was like that with my first daughter, movement but gentle and never anything painful. This child hurts me ALL the time. I was very unprepared for movements like hers! But my first was perfectly healthy, maybe it has something to do with first pregnancies?

This one hurts me a lot, too! It's funny because I spent so much time wishing DD1 would kick me more, and while I'm loving all the movement I get with this one, I didn't really get how much they can hurt you with kicks until now.
Kind of glad to read how not every baby kick is 'cute.' Baby has been stretching/kicking very uncomfortably to the point of painful. I felt so guilty not enjoying the kicks and wishing he would stop.
RE: Subs - sorry I gotta bring them up again but - Wegmans. Wegmans has the best subs, they're always fresh and soooo yummy!!!! I just love me a Wegs sub!
Re Subs: Oh yea, Jimmy Johns was my favorite 'drunk food', it loses some of the awesomeness sober lol. I do think they have really good roast beef though. I also love Penn Station, but that is more when you want some good greasy-ness, nothing healthy about it. I've never heard of Pita Pit.
@LakeR2014 - I felt more jabs earlier on, but they were never super strong or painful - probably because the baby wasn't as strong yet! Now it's more like wiggles, slides and turns, which I assume is because Baby doesn't have a whole lotta room in there to flip, kick and punch freely anymore. I'm at 30w 2d. So I think it's normal, and any movement is good movement!
And guys, I think you are overlooking PANERA for the best sandwiches award... JJ's is okay. I don't like Jeresey Mike's at all, but philly's aren't my thing. Planet Subs was thebomb dot com, but unfortunetely, we don't have one where I live now, and I think they are a pretty scarce chain.
@LakeR2014@VeraMali@camichael84@jhems776 this baby is my first time out of the first tri and I found the movement so cute and reassuring... at first... but he NEVER stops. You can see his little feet/ knees/ elbows moving across my belly all the time. He has also been head down for some time, resulting in some awesome (from symptom thread) "lightning crotch" feelings. This kid hurts me, although it is nice to think he is doing fine in there.
I keep reading there is no such thing as too much movement, but I am thinking I am going to end up with one very hyper, unsleepy, infant. Pray for all of us!
@laker2014 what about DiBella's? That's my favorite sub place around here.
@jhems776 I've only ever had Pita Pit when I lived in Canada. I just looked it up and apparently it is in the USA too, but none close by, unless I want to cross over into Canada or drive 66 miles haha
Jimmy Johns to me is like a simple sandwich you make at home, absolutely nothing special. I eat it sometimes just because they're the only ones that deliver quickly where I am and I always order online and customize the h out of my sammich so it's at least a little yummy. I can do Subway and Quiznos but they're not amazing at all to me. Firehouse has some good ones but, other than that, I haven't found a place with yummy subs or hoagies. And, sorry @PoodleDoodleOoo Panera sucks ass to us. Everything is greasy and bland.
Panera.. greasy? Huh, I've never had a greasy item from there.. maybe because I'm a vegetarian I just can't imagine what of their food would be greasy. I love me some Panera.
In terms of movement, @jhems776 - my little guy likes to push up into my ribs, when I recline a bit on the couch at night and put my feet up, it can be very uncomfortable - also my 45 minute commute is becoming a bit painful as well. If I rest my hands at the top of my bump, or press down lightly to encourage him to move down outta my ribs, he kicks back with fury. It's fun... for a few minutes.. then I just want to be able to get a really good deep breath or allow my ribcage to go back to a normal non-super stretched feeling.
I still love all movements, even if painful.. just getting a little beat up over here.
@LakeR2014 I do feel very strong movement but the jerky jabs/kicks from when she had more room are not as common. I do get them sometimes but they're so strong because she's grown so much that it feels like she moves my entire body At this point, it's more her dragging her legs acrooss my upper abdomen, painful stretching or her digging into something with some part of her legs. Sometimes I eat and fill up after a few bites and my stomach hurts like it's going to tear open because of her position. When she crowds me like this, I lay back in the recliner or stretch to give her more room.
Panera is excellent @camichael84 their soup and wraps are yummy and I don't feel too guilty after eating there. It's real food. Or so it seems. I also like the option of getting an apple on the side. All this food talk has me super hungry-glad lunch isn't too far away!

It's a sin to get the apple when the baguette or chips are an option. Shame on you
So I had my ultrasound today.....and the placenta is at 4cm!!! Three weeks ago it was at 1.1cm and the doctor wanted it to be at least 2cm in order to allow me to attempt a vaginal birth. Well little guy had a growth spurt and it moved way beyond what the minimum criteria is! Yay! This was the first time my mom came to an ultrasound so it was even more of a special day for us. We got to see the baby open and close his eyes too. Little guy is still measuring right on track and is weighing 3lbs 9oz. I hope you don't mind me sharing a pic here vs. the other thread. I am just so in love with him!
Now time to break up with my OB and officially switch to the midwifery practice....
@rock1cherry I love DiBellas too, but since Wegmans essentially uses the same bread recipe and they have dill pickles you can add to your sub - I'll always go with Wegs over Dibellas. So yummy!
With @AnnaS930 on the Panera side. You never go with the apple when you could have the baguette! I mean it's so yummy!!!!
@AnnaS930 they reworked their menu after Eat this not that gave featured a lot of theirs and Cheesecake Factory's menu items as super high fat & calories. Now they have the whole "eat healthy and natural here" thing going on so we've given it a chance a couple of times. We just find that their soups and sandwiches are sooo bland and dripping in fat so it's not for us. I'm sure not everything there is like that though.
ETA: I'm the kind of person that won't even eat bagels or donuts (only rarely). DH says I'm a snob lol
Not that I don't love you all, but the idea of a "Labor Buddy" doesn't really appeal to me...I am assuming that I will barely have enough wherewithal to be updating my family while I'm trying to pop out a baby. I like the idea of just posting my birth story after the birth and after things have settled down a bit.
RE: Subs - sorry I gotta bring them up again but - Wegmans. Wegmans has the best subs, they're always fresh and soooo yummy!!!! I just love me a Wegs sub!
Thanks for the good thoughts, ladies. My OB checked his heartbeat which was fine. She said even if I am getting 6 movements in 2hrs, that if I am concerned, to go in to the hospital and get an u/s anyways (my doc doesn't have an u/s machine) so if I don't see more consistent activity, I'll go in and get checked out regardless.
Hope all the other lazy babies perk up soon
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
FI wanted to skip birth class tonight and hang out with the engaged couple, but tonight we are talking about birth plans and hospital policies and I really feel like this is important! I asked my OB about some things and she said that the birthing class would cover all my questions soooo there is no way I am skipping. He is grumpy but understands lol
Side note- They want us to bring in our packed hospital bags next week and I loved packing it, one more thing that really makes this all seem so real
I am so sleepy today. I've been sleeping about 12 hours a day between night sleep and naps throughout the day. I have no idea how BTDT moms do it, I feel like I can't push through the fatigue. I slept about 7 hours last night and staying awake at an office is just impossible. I don't even remember what it feels like not feeling like I'm dozing off everywhere.
Re labor buddies... I loved doing it on my first BMB. I didn't mobile Bump, so it was much easier to contact her via FB than get on TB. Now that I'm mobile, I'm down for whatever. But I had assumed we weren't doing them since we hadn't by now.
blondie080300 Congrats on the good news! I'm glad your LO is growing well and that you'll be able to try for the birth you want.
@Themaritimemama Glad you got some reassurance from your OB and that baby's heartbeat sounds great. It's definitely a panic moment for me when LO has a lazy day, so I totally understand!
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom I am with you on the fatigue! It's like I'm back in the first trimester again. I'll sleep 8-9 hours over night, and still need a long nap during the day. Major admiration for all the BTDT moms who manage this with toddlers!
Hmmm... I looked over the Panera menu again thinking, 'maybe I've just made wrong choices' and now I can't get the Mediterranean chicken flatbread out of my mind. I think we'll need to give it another shot this weekend
I did another voiceover for a training video for our company and now I have to take the training. I have to listen to my own voice on recording. Kill me.

@kosmo86 I'd like a sandwich. I've actually been dying for a PB&J the last week. I just need to pick up some sugar free jelly and it's on.
