I'm sitting on a plane for the last leg of my flight to Memphis for my three week vacation. I traded seats (window for window) with a girl so she could sit with her brother. My new neighbor is a serious manspreader. I can feel his hear radiating from his legs and he is encroaching my space. And to top it off, he is chewing tobacco. It smells so gross and his spit bottle is clear and crinkly. We paid extra to have the roomier seats and my only choice of moving is to a middle seat in the back. I'm so grossed out right now and I just want to cry. I wish I was still sitting next to the scrawny teenager
@marikkita12 What airline are you flying?! I've never been on an airline that wasn't tobacco free. I would get up and alert a flight attendant right away. That's disgusting and inconsiderate and UNSANITARY! You poor poor poor thing. UGH I'm so mad for you right now.
Watching McKenna eat her lunch, it occurred to me how weird being a parent is. She's been using a spoon and fork for a while, but the last several weeks she *really* has gotten it. She prefers utensils to her hands, can get almost everything off the plate, and rarely misses her mouth. So I'm watching her feeling proud. Like so, so, so proud... because she is using a fork.
(Also worth noting, pride was quickly replaced by frustration because she still thinks the appropriate thing to do with her cup after getting a drink is to hurl it across the kitchen.)
Ladies I'm suffering from a chest cold was a pretty severe cough that's making my lungs hurt pretty bad my sister is saying I need to go call the advice nurse and see if I need to be seen. Is she overreacting or am I under reacting thinking it's just a cold and I'll get over it??
@Megan324 I'd be irrationally upset if I'd planned themed gifts that way and they got messed up, too. In my mind, my fun, cute idea would be totally ruined. Even if I was the only one that had known my original plan.
@Bibliobebe Until his 20s!?!? We don't co-sleep (except for when she's teething and cranky and then it's still only part of the night), but I don't judge those that do. My theory has been that they won't want to do it forever. But you just blew thay theory out of the water. Lol.
@ammcc12 I would definitely call your Dr to rule out pneumonia, which can be pretty serious during pregnancy. My OB sends me to my PCP for those types of things, but I always send my OB a heads up in case they have any additional concerns.
I can't even with the whole Brexit thing. This is such a huge deal.
I was just watching John Oliver talk about this possibility on Last Week Tonight and thought "Nah, that won't happen"... flash forward to today. Insane.
@AmMcc12 I agree that it's worth a call at least. I tend to try and let things ride their course, but get more concerned when I'm pregnant because the immune system is compromised right now.
@fireflygirl12 I hate cigarettes, but I agree. DH chewed one time in front of me when he was drunk, and it was the grossest thing I've ever seen. (He's not a tobacco user, just got drunk and did it because his friends were.)

Thank you! I always do wedding presents this way and now that its ruined I have to find a different item on their registry that goes with the coffee cups. I'm like known for my gift giving so I gotta keep up rep

@camichael84 One of my friends has co-slept with each of her children. She has four kids: 10,8,5, & 3. I don't know if they still are now, but when the 3-year-old was born, they were all still co-sleeping. I could not wrap my brain around that. Even in a king bed how does that work? I need my space and I will kick you for it! Hence why my child will be in their crib. Forget about smothering or whatever, I need to have my space.
Right @annas930?! I feel like its all a big joke. Comparable to how Trump actually managed to get the nomination. Nobody would have even imagined a year ago.
@camichael84 Yep! Once he was 10 or 11 he started sleeping pretty regularly in his own room, but the poor kid had night terrors (really bad ones) and would wake up in the middle of the night pretty much EVERY night for a while and end up in my parents room.
When he was older and got GIGANTIC and perfectly capable of protecting his own self from his nightmares he almost completely stopped doing it, but if he ever had a nightmare about someone breaking in to the house or hurting my parents he'd get up, go check on them, and then sleep on the couch by the door like a night guard.
And Trump is all for the Brexit. I hope this is a wake up call for this country (the USA) that unthinkable election results can occur, and everyone needs to vote!
@LakeR2014 The smothering thing freaked me out when she was smaller, and why we never tried. But now it's totally a space thing. That's why she goes back to her crib after she's sound asleep on the crappy teething nights. And now that I'm almost 7 months pregnant, it's a million times worse if she does come in there.
@Megan324 I was trying to come up with a gift that goes along with coffee mugs to help you protect your awesome gift giving reputation, but I've got nothing. Haha.
My only thoughts on Brexit is that they chose an unfortunate word to describe what's happening. I guess I don't really follow world politics very well....
@megan324 We refer to the guest room as the sex room... ETA: And we mostly cosleep, that wasn't the name of the room before DD! Just realized that was a weird over share random without context...
@Bibliobebe Okay, that's kind of what I imagine in my mind... they start making their way to their own bed during the tween years. That's when kids tend to start wanting privacy. It's sweet that he'd go try to protect them after a bad dream.
I'm having a hard time picking out a dress for maternity pics. I think most of it is getting past the fact that I don't look like the website model.
This combined with a different thread has me wondering... am I the only one not planning on wearing a dress for maternity photos? I wore jean capris and a (maternity) t-shirt for my pictures when I was pregnant for McKenna, and planned on something similar this time.
DH and I just turned down a week and a half of freedom from the munchkins. With all the circumstances and things that would have to happen for it to work though, we just couldn't rationalize it. I mean don't get me wrong, DH and I would really miss them but they would have had so much fun with my mom on the road trip and DH's family back home. And it would have been really nice to be able to do stuff around the house without them here (like get their room and the nursery ready). Such a bummer.
Can Braxton Hicks just be on one side? Or is it normally right in the middle? Baby has always been on my left (every time we've checked for a heartbeat baby squirmed over there and now seems to be there for good) and I feel a painless tightening there a few times a day. It feels just like baby is pushing his/her feet as far out as possible. Just lasts a couple seconds.
How can I look utterly cute leaving the house, be so stoked about how I'm rocking my baby bump, my hair, just everything? Someone points a camera at me and immediately every da*n camera adds 50 lbs to my body!?! Like seriously - every dang time! Was there a Y2K thing that happened to all cameras in the last two months where they add 50 lbs to your frame? Because I do not look like that when I leave the house!
@Sbrown721- yeah absolutely can just be in part of your uterus. The muscle can contract in any portion or in entirety.. mine definitely happen in specific parts of the uterus at times.

HAHAHA I am SO not photogenic! I looked like garbage in some of my baby shower pics! ugh!

I did early maternity pics last weekend and wore jean capris and a white maternity top. I've never been a huge dress person and wore jeans for my bridal shower years ago!
@SarahDarah333 I am so sorry your week has been so difficult! The good news is that the weekend is here and a brand new week is just around the corner! Regarding your glucose test, it was just the 1 hour one you received results back on, right? So you just need to take the 3 hour test to ensure you don't have GD?
@camichael84 I have the same feelings about eating carbs and sugar after my 1 hour glucose test this morning in case I find out I am at risk for having GD or not. Enjoy it while we can, right?!
@AnnaS930 I have zero motivation to work today either. I had my 1 hour glucose test this morning and when I got to work I realized it is "Bring Your Child to Work Day" in our office. So there are little ones running around making it even more difficult to try and concentrate (after enduring the glucose drink, TDAP vaccine and the rhogam shot I had today). So I am pretty much blowing off my projects and surfing social media until it is time to leave.

I hope its a short flight
At least they're cute?
