I was going to do a HDBD picture when I had to adult and put on actual clothes. But then I got home and went straight to the bedroom and changed into PJs. No pics for me today and no more adulting today.
Lol I do that sometimes and then just post one from a few days before because it's not worth changing back into clothes
@camichael84 - E and I did groceries yesterday morning. I got to the store (around 9am), and didn't have his sippy cup of milk, which I was counting on to keep him content. I also didn't have my list. UGH! He didn't want any of the snacks I was offering and of course nearly lost his cool when I put a gallon of milk in the cart, since I hadn't given him his sippy yet. I dug through the diaper bag like mad and found a dum dum in there that I had put back during that suggestion. He happily sucked away for the duration of the trip, and I only missed 2 (and they were non-essentials, just thinks we were low on) items! MOM WIN! He screamed for 30 seconds when I put him in the carseat and tossed the half lolipop leftover.. but A. I'm not giving him the chance to choke while driving, and B. I'm not giving him the chance of sticking that pink dum dum to my beige leather seats! HA!
My husband comes downstairs last night from dealing with psychopants getting out of bed for the fifth time and I'm lying upside down on an ironing board propped on the couch, spinning babies style. He starts laughing hysterically - "WTF is wrong with you? Just when I think you can't do anymore weird shit, I walk into this." Whatever dude, I'm entertaining.
Also, at my GD test. Just drank the kool aid and baby is freaking dancing up a storm, an uncomfortable storm.
Good morning everyone! The things I got done and focused on while not being on an ounce of social media has been nice. But I'm back because I've missed you
A little update on baby boy: cousins wife is a mess (as to be expected). Does not want to take him off at all. She absolutely lost it when doctors started talking about donating organs for other babies. She said she wanted scientific proof that he will not survive if taken off life support. She also said she is just going to take take him home and see what happens. I'm at a loss for words right now but I do know that she will need serious help after this loss (she just lost her mother a year ago). I just hope they both have the strength to survive this tragedy mentally speaking as they have two younger children who need them.
On a lighter note, I pretty much got the nursery finished this week. My sis/bro in law come in tonight with my niece. AND husband and I got a date night in last night (free of charge thanks to friends) H is off this morning so we are heading to the car dealer to see if the car we are interested in fits all three car seats. If not, the search continues!
edit to add they decided late last night to take him off life support. He passed quickly in the arms of the people who love him most. He will be missed
That sounds pretty rough @seitzy3 eek. I just can't even imagine what they're going through. Just know our thoughts are still with you and your family.
@Megan324 so glad everything is ok, people are mindless on the road.
@seitzy3 that is so awful. I hope they have the strength to get through. Hopefully the hospital can refer them to reputable counselors. Still thinking and praying for them...
As some of you may remember, there have been issues with my last 2 fundal height measurements. OB ordered a growth scan to check and see if everything is progressing the way it should. Thankfully, after seeing the measurements of everything up to par yesterday, I have more hope she is growing the way she needs to. The scan revealed that currently she's breech (@29w) and that could be the reason my fundal height is not where it should be (@27cm). He did not encourage me to do any exercises such a spinning babies until I'm a little further along just because she could easily rotate on her own. My next appointment is in 3 weeks, so hopefully she moves into position in the meantime. Just wanted to give you all an update that everything is OK so far because I've been very worried the past month and a half.
Also passed my 2hr Glucose Test!!! I dove right into that one this time instead of messing around with the 1hr and failing it again.
@seitzy3 - We're glad to see you back. So very sorry your cousin and his wife are going through that though. I can't even imagine. Still sending thoughts and prayers to you all. I'm sure it'll be a hard journey but hopefully there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.
@RedMar glad everything looks good with baby. I'm with you in the breech baby department. But I'm a control freak and need to do everything possible to get baby flipped.
@seitzy3 I'm not sure how but I missed your original comment about what your family is going through. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot imagine the pain you are all enduring.
@AnnaS930 I wish she'd been screaming for milk, but I'm 99% sure it was for the peanut butter cookies I picked up at the bakery. She doesn't get the concept of "we need to pay first" and I just can't be one of those people who start eating the food before they pay for it. But Dum-dums are already in the diaper bag should we need them in the future!
@seitzy3 Welcome back! Still keeping your family in my thoughts during this difficult time.
@seitzy3 - we've missed you and I'm sure have all been thinking of your family at this seemingly impossible time for them. So sorry for all they have gone through and will continue to endure.
@RedMar - I had missed your concerns about fundal height, I'm so glad the growth scan checked out. Now you can take a nice deep breath!
@camichael84 - when we'd grocery shop with my friend's mom as kids, she'd let us eat donut holes from the bakery then at the register just tell them "Oh yeah, and 5 donut holes" or whatever had been eaten. I was always appalled, and unsure if I should really eat one or not as a kid. I still think it's a bit out there.. but I refuse to say never at this point! Some of our grocery stores have a bin of free sugar cookies for kids at the bakery counter.. we should really go there more often...
I regularly open packages of food that don't need to be weighed in order to keep my daughter happy during grocery shopping - it's generally Annie's bunnies or string cheese. No shame here.
Had my 28 week appt today. Everything is still going well. Last appt, the NP measured my fundal height at 30, OB measured it at 30 this week (still ahead, but not nearly as much), so likely little girl's position effected it last time. Also, OB is pretty sure she moved from head down and now her head is somewhere up top to the right. Still telling myself she has time to move back, but going to be looking into spinning babies in case I need it later on.
Got all my appointments set up for the rest of the pregnancy, and a growth ultrasound scheduled for two weeks from today!
I close on my condo tomorrow! This month has had so much to do and stress about, hopefully unpacking and decorating will be fun this next month, now to get through this next week. Here is my current timeline: tonight final walk though, tomorrow close, Saturday fly out for a work trip till Tuesday, in that time H and friends are moving everything that can fit in cars, Wednesday glucose test, Thursday movers come for furniture and whatever we couldn't move ourselves, Friday my parents come for the long weekend, and finally Saturday is the last day we have for our apt (so needs to be all moved out and really clean). Ok one week of crazy, I can do this...
@AnnaS930@PSUBecky23 I'm never saying never on opening food before checking out either, but we've never been to the point I'm willing yet. They do free cookies at our store, too, but you have to ask for them. She'd already eaten her snack, so I just didn't think about it. I wish I had of.
@jhems776 Yay for closing tomorrow! That's so exciting! That does sound like a busy week, but it'll likely go by so quick that'll be over before you know it. Them hopefully you can get some rest while you unpack and decorate your new home!
You guys... I'm miserable!!! Blah. Just got the call that I passed my GTT test but that I'm severely anemic. I was already on a supplement so they doubled the dosage. I took the recommended dose about two hours ago and I'm seriously miserable. My stomach hurts and I'm doing everything in my power not to vomit. I just took my phenergan (2hours earlier than normal) so hopefully that helps!! How am I suppose to deal with this daily?!
@reesaXden - do you have to take it during the day? Would you be able to sleep through the misery if you took it at night, or split the dose between morning and night? Also, is it a slow release iron? Sometimes that can be a little easier on the GI tract...
@reesaXden I'm anemic as well and my supplement is terrible! It's a more natural approach (Floradix from Whole Foods) but it still makes me feel terrible since it needs to be taken on an empty stomach and you can't eat for an hour afterwards. I barfed up most of my dinner (and the supplement I'm assuming) last night. BUT it is making me feel less dizzy so that's a win! I wish I had an idea on how to tame the nausea with it but I haven't figured it out yet Hang in there!

Take it at night before bed!! I can't take it during the day, or I'll puke. Same thing with my vitamin.
Just filled out the online portion of our marriage license!!!!!!!!! Just need to head to the courthouse to get it finalized on Monday! Surreal! We were engaged before I got pregnant. We wanted to have baby #1 before getting married. We are simply completing the formality of it now (in secret) and we will have a ceremony in a year with all our family and friends and baby as the ring bearer or flower girl! Plus, I will be getting on his insurance and that may bring my $11,000 pregnancy/birthing bills down to $0.
It's funny how dramatic and stressful life can be one day and calm and happy it can be the next!
Well... I couldn't fight it any longer! Boo... I will try taking it before bed tomorrow. Thanks for all of the suggestions. @AnnaS930 It's just a regular iron supplement. Is there a certain brand or what not that is slow release? My bottle doesn't say anything about it.
@reesaXden- there's quite a few brands that do slow-release. It would say it directly on box (and might be a bit pricier, though shouldn't be terrible) SlowFe used to be a brand when I worked retail, but I would think most pharmacies/walmart/etc would carry something similar.
I had to buy new iron at Target yesterday and they only had 1 type that I could find, 180 tablets of regular iron.. I wasn't crazy about it but also didn't want to shop around so I bought it anyways, guess half the bottle will go to waste.
@Megan324--yikes!! Glad you are both okay. I hope you both have very uneventful drives from here on out! That's just nuts that those both happened in one day!
@seitzy3--I can't even imagine how hard that situation must be. So so sorry.
And food. We eat crackers and pouches at the grocery store on the regular and then just run the empties through at checkout. No one ever seems to mind or even think twice about it. Better than a screaming child, I say! Some of our grocery stores have started giving out fruit to kiddos, which works well too. I want to go to your stores that have sugar cookies though!

@RessaXden - I have to take an Iron Supplement daily too and trust me, the slow release ones are way better and less stress on your system (at least that's what I've seen). The brand I use is called: 'Mason Natural - Slow Release Iron'. It was the only iron supplement at Wegmans that specifically stated 'Slow Release.' I used to take SlowFe when I was younger, but can't find that brand around here anymore. Whichever one you go for the 'Slow Release' is key. If that's only helping marginally, my doctor said to space out when you take them if taking multiple. IE one in the morning, one in the evening. Or if also taking a prental...one morning, one afternoon, one evening. So far that's worked out best for me.
I love coworkers. I walked by a going away party that had a giant cake. Or front desk receptionist popped her head out and said "Do you know if you can eat cake? Did you pass your glucose test??" (I passed up a donut the other day while waiting for results. I told her I can eat cake and she "forced" me to go in and get some. Then people were trying to convince me to take a piece of plain AND chocolate.. but I settled for just the chocolate, they argued I needed the extra calcium and that baby boy really needs to be woken up. I love these people.
ETA: Walking by was not fate. They had emailed about this surprise party with cake so I knew it was going on, but didn't know the person who's moving to another state so I didn't want to be too obvious
