@blondie080300 - Seems my husband is feeling our pain too. His store is incredibly slow today so he just texted that he's leaving early and can pick up our son from daycare (I am scheduled to leave at 3:15 instead of 5 so I can pick up the kiddo by 4). I told him to feel free to pick him up or not, but I'm leaving here at 3:15 regardless.. I will never last until 5.
And by "scheduled to leave" I mean that I told my boss months ago that a day or two a week I'd need to leave by 330 to pick up my son but would make up my hours by coming in early and working through lunches some days. I don't do any of those things.. and have had to leave at 330 2 times this week. Sorry NOT sorry!
@Sbrown721 I *think* I get them in just part of my uterus. It used to be the left upper side, and now it's moved to the upper right. It sure feels like Braxton Hicks, anyway, and not just like her pushing against my stomach. I do notice that my whole uterus will be hard during it, but it just hurts in the one spot. I do wonder if her positioning is making it hurt in specific areas as opposed to the whole uterus.
I think @Sbrown721 that because muscles of the uterus lay up and down and across and diagonally that you can have braxton hicks in specific places depending on what muscle contracts, or that it can at least feel that way. I'm not 100% sure but my understanding of anatomy/physiology tells me it's likely
@UnwritteN12 Sorry it didn't work out that your kids could get away for a bit!
Also, not to be a creeper, but I was thinking of you earlier today. One of McKenna's Disney Junior CDs has a 'Sofia the First' song about being twins (Sofia's step brother and sister are twins), and I just thought of you and both of your boy/girl twins. And then I teared up some because the song is about the girl twin realizing how much she actually loves being twin with her brother. Hormones, I tell you!
I am so tired it took everything I had not to fall asleep at a meeting. I kept fluttering my eyes and looking around pretending to be alert. Pretty sure I fooled no one.
How can I look utterly cute leaving the house, be so stoked about how I'm rocking my baby bump, my hair, just everything? Someone points a camera at me and immediately every da*n camera adds 50 lbs to my body!?! Like seriously - every dang time! Was there a Y2K thing that happened to all cameras in the last two months where they add 50 lbs to your frame? Because I do not look like that when I leave the house!
I feel you. This happens to me all the time. I did a little experiment when I was getting into my 2nd trimester to prove this to myself. I looked at myself in the mirror on a day when I was feeling really good, and then snapped a photo with my phone. Then I held up the picture and looked back and forth from the pic to the mirror. The adding 10 lbs rule is TOTALLY a thing. It amazed me how different the photo looked from what I actually looked like. So now I don't over analyze pics of myself and assume I look 10-15 lbs lighter IRL.

Lol that's the approach I'm taking. However, and this actually just happened. Was walking to get a water at work and my co-worker coming from the other direction smiles, looks at me, and goes 'She's getting bigger!' She's a sweet woman so I know she didn't mean it in offense, but still I was all like, Grrr!!!!
@blondie080300 yea it was just the 1 hour I failed so I have to take the 3 hour Monday. I'm slightly hypoglycemic normally anyway, so when I don't eat for too long I get dizzy- makes me nervous about the test. The only person who can come with me is my MIL, who just might drive me crazy while I'm there. I was sort of hoping to go alone, bring snacks for immediate consumption when I'm done, and binge watch OITNB on my phone in between blood draws. The whole elevated white blood cell count wigged me out too- not gonna lie! Like you said- it's the weekend (almost for me, I work Saturdays) so I'm at least excited for the end of the work week. I felt better today too.
@jhems776 I don't blame you- I'd be a little bummed if I found out my shower was actually a double shower!
@camichael84 - girl I'm right there with you! My mom came home from upstate NY yesterday with two boxes of "Peanut Butter Wings"- they are ridged potato chips with a layer of peanut butter dipped in chocolate. Yup. And this time she got milk chocolate and dark chocolate ones, and I ate about 1/4 of each box last night because lord knows Monday I have the 3 hour test and if I fail I can't eat them. So screw it. Also, I'm with you on the not wearing a dress for maternity photos. I just think it will make me look larger.
@marikkita12 gross! I hope you can muster enough being disgusted and start to gag in his direction at the very least. Or at least faux-gag at him so when he recoils back you can tell him that you feel like you're overheating and the whole chewing and spitting thing is making you want to vomit. You're better than me, I'd have totally freaked out within a minute of that hell!
@camichael84 - Awww!! I love that show. I miss the kids watching Disney Jr.
Complete random - I never knew how strange and awkward it felt when your baby's head is way down in your pelvis and they have the hiccups. Now I do. Yikes!
phewwwww that was a lot of catching up!! FINALLY done with the school year, woohoo! I'll be able to BUMP more regularly now that I will have more free time. Can't believe we are going into the last week of June.. we are so close ladies!
Re: co-sleeping - We just got back from vacation tonight. After sharing a bed with my 2.5 year old, it confirmed there was no way I could ever do it. I think we are both bed hogs. It would start out sweet, like she'd hold my hand while falling asleep or make sure her back or feet were touching me, but then she would get crazy during the night. Laying perpendicular to me with her feet digging into my back, scooting to the top or bottom or the bed causing me to wake and move her so she wouldn't fall. Maybe you get used to it, but it was some of the worst sleep I've had in a long time.
I, too, just got all caught up! This new work project is keeping me buuuusy and is severely impacting my bump time!
My random - we are hosting a huge, invite-everyone-we-know BBQ tomorrow! I'm super excited to see everybody, eat a LOT and make s'mores over the campfire! Oh and bonus - our house and yard are tidier than they've been in ages! There's nothing like throwing a huge party to incentivize cleaning and organizing!
I have this terrible tugging/pulling/strain pain at my belly button. It is right where my incision from the appendectomy is, and it's a bit red, so I can't tell if it's the incision or from belly growing. When I roll over in bed, it hurts so bad, almost as much as when the incision was fresh. My surgeon had said I'm at a high risk of a hernia and I'm really hoping that's not what it is. All I want to do is ice it, but I'm pretty sure putting ice on my belly button isn't good for the baby. Maybe? Am I just making that up?
I'm astonished and frightened at the brexit. This isolationist streak surprises me in the US especially, since one of our prized American ideals is acceptance and diversity. "Give your tired, your poor, your huddled masses..." Etc etc.
I can recognize that Britain has a different cultural history. But I'm dismayed that this trend is a global one.
This should probably go in FFFFC but I prefer to share with you ladies - away for a kid free weekend at the shore! Currently eating peanut butter directly from the jar while in bed.
@RG1--I wouldn't thinkng putting some ice on there would be bad for baby. They're pretty well insulated in there. And probably have room to scoot away if it feels chilly. I don't imagine you' be keeping it on there for super extended periods without a break anyway, right?
The crib, crib mattress, and crib pad are all here! The Crib and mattress arrived yesterday. The Crib arrived early in the day and I very much wanted to start putting it together, but unfortunately my wussy pregnant butt couldn't even drag the thing inside from the porch. Had to wait for DH.
By the time we were ready to get the thing upstairs and start unpacking it, I was tired. LOL So today's the day! Finishing up the BIG nursery projects. We'll paint the rest of the walls, put the crib together, and hang up the rest of the curtains and some of the decorations. Huzzah!
@RG1 I feel like I've had a huge growth spurt in the past couple of weeks, and your scar is so fresh. I would think that as fast as you grow in the last few months, it could cause some pain. I would still ask my dr about it just to be sure!
Organizing DD1s old clothes is a huge pain. She has clothes from last summer that are 12-18 months, but she now wears a 2T, and then she has clothes from last winter that are still 12-18 months and some that are 12 months. Sizes are so random and weird for babies, she has a lot of things in the 9 month box that I know she wore when she was still wearing 3-6 month and some things that she still wore when she was in 12 month. How do you organize this stuff? IM currently planning to go through A size ahead box when Claire moves to another size.
Not sure why I ever thought this was a good idea, but I bought a bag of fun size snickers for my drawer at work so I can have ONE when I get a sweet craving instead of buying a whole candy bar. Guess who has ravaged through the whole bag in two days
@MrsVoorhees same problem here! I'm doing a clothing swap with the mom of a boy two doors down who is expecting a girl in October (I have a girl, expecting a boy). I'm going to loosely sort for her but will just advise her to search the higher up bin too bc of the crazy sizing differences!
@abberson lucky!!! I'm so jealous and wish I could find someone like that! I know of a Team Green STmom due next month so maybe she'll have a boy and we can do some SWAPPING! I'm too nervous to put an ad on C-list...
Just got back from our 3D u/s pics... Little booger is head up and had the cord around his neck for most of it which totally freaked me out. She reminded me the importance of kick counts. It eventually moved, but it's scary to see! I put the pic on the appropriate thread if anyone is curious

In spite of my OB only giving me a Z-pack because I have asthma and any sort of throat/respiratory issue can go into my lungs, my sore throat started clearing up in the first day of being treated and is almost gone now. I still don't know for sure if it was the T-dap vaccine that started the whole issue or if I caught something at DH's cousin's baby shower (we went from the shower to the pharmacy to get my vaccine), but it was miserable. It felt like having strep throat mixed with tonsillitis (if I still had my tonsils) for weeks.
Just got in from a few hours outdoors. Did some weeding in my gardens and it looks like we will get to harvest some of the veggies soon! The lettuce is ready, the peas are almost ready and the tomatoes and green peppers are still blooming. Yay! I love fresh veggies.
I went shopping earlier and got some deals at Motherhood Maternity. They had buy one get one free on their clearance so I got a nice top and a cover up for swimwear. They had buy one get one for $5 on some shorts so I got two pairs of those. And I finally got a swim top so I can go swimming! Win!
Ladies, there is something about the crib being all put together in a freshly painted nursery that really makes this whole baby thing feel real. As if the kicks weren't enough! LOL. But DH has been working on putting all of our nursery furniture together this weekend (crib, changing table, dresser, hutch and toy storage unit) and it is so beautiful and really sinking in more now. Like just walking by the room, seeing the crib and imagining all of the times I will be in there with our little guy. So heartwarming and yet a little terrifying at the same time.
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
We have been reading Big Brother books to DS almost every night to try and prepare him for what's to come. Since he's only 2 (just turned), he doesn't really understand his life is about to change drastically! Last night he was sitting on my lap (almost impossible nowadays) and he was pointing to my belly and saying "baby" over and over again. And I was like "yes soon you'll meet your little sister" and he started to lift up my shirt and say "open" to my belly as if he could lift a flap and see her. So cute!
UGH after the bridal shower today I was driving my brothers girlfriend home and I said how I was tired and she goes "Why? Its not like you work"
I already don't like her. Its because of shit like this. UGH I wanted to slap her.
OH and she didn't bring a gift to the shower...bc she "didn't know" that you have to bring a gift....what did you think we were getting together for? What do you think the point of a shower is? So I made her get a gift card.
@blondie080300 I KNOW! Seeing the nursery really makes something click in your brain. There's a place for this baby in your house. It's the reality that there's going to be a time when baby's out and in the world. They've got their nook! The nursery either makes me want to cry happily or sends me into a total squeal fest every time I see it.

@Sporty1216 okay thanks! I will ice it and see if that helps. I figured only 10 mins on so that would be fine

@blondie080300 you'll have to take a pic when it's all together! We're down to the final stretch, ladies. These babies will be here before we know it!
I'm in such a crummy mood today, despite seeing the baby. I think I'm overtired and should just go to bed.
I already don't like her. Its because of shit like this. UGH I wanted to slap her.

The shower was lovely though.
@Megan324 Your brother's girlfriend sounds ew.
She also referred to my unborn child as "that thing"
So next time she can walk home
Except the difference between me and her is
