Oh, don't mind me. Just wide awake at 2 am, wishing I wasn't such a weirdo about medications and would have taken a Unisom sleep tab before bed. Upside? I slept a whole 4.5 hours before waking up! Score.

I'm going to go raid my refrigerator.
@Bibliobebe I laughed so hard at your post for including so many 'Grr, WTF!?!' things about pregnancy. Insomnia, 'I can take that, but should I? Will it affect baby?', 'I got 4.5 hours of sleep, score!!!!', and of course...'It's 2AM, time for food!'
So I just got a pic of what the shower invitations are going to be for his side and it says to honor "SIL's name and My Name (the shorted version I only use with a small group)." No one told me it was a double shower. Not that I really mind just would have liked to have been told. All the conversations about the shower would have not suggested it was going to be a double or even that they were thinking about it, so I'm just a bit surprised. Has anyone ever been to a double shower?
@jhems776 - Hmmm, a couple little surprises on the invite it sounds between your nickname and a double shower... I've never been to a double but it could be fun! Is this your only shower? I kind of hope you get a solo shower as well, I think all new mamas deserve their spot in the sun!
@jhems776 How strange that they're throwing a double shower without telling you first...and, honestly, they should have asked not told you in the first place. (Granted, it would be one of those things that you probably wouldn't have been able to turn down - it's just the polite thing for them to "run it by you" first.) I'm sorry you were surprised with it all! That being said, a double shower could be fun! If your SIL is the right kind of person and you two get along well, it could actually be really special to have this "togetherness". If she's going to steal the show in any way, that would be annoying.
@Bibliobebe - I just stalked you a bit because I've been thinking "has she been here all along? She's meshing with the group and fitting in so easily" so I looked through your comments and found your Intro (I haven't read the Intro thread in months). So... WELCOME! Glad you're here and kudos for working your way in and having a really good feel for the board before jumping in with something offensive/off putting!
I've been so busy getting ready for our trip to Florida next week that I've been completely MIA. I just read 8 pages of this thread and just wanted to say I've missed y'all! My random is that DS stole my donut this morning and I probably would have cried if he weren't so adorable

#Same! I was like, I feel as if I know this person but I can't remember her.

@AnnsS930 I was thinking the same thing! I was like who is this person? They mesh so well - must be a reg who changed their name. Nope you @Bibliobebe just did a great job of figuring out the board and coming in with the right attitude/game plan. Nice job and welcome!
@jhems776 What a surprise - and how strange not to find out until the invite. Was it a surprise to your H, too? Seems like one of those important details mine might forget to tell me. Agree, I hope you're getting a solo shower at some point too!
My random: The little guy rotated from transverse to up/down! I've been really uncomfortable for a few days feeling kicks / stretches on both the left and right side at the same time. @PSUBecky23 your spinning babies practice inspired me to do a few forward inversions off the couch last night. I don't know if that was it or baby was also getting uncomfortable in that cramped position but I woke up to huge belly relief this morning! And movement is back down low. Whew.
My usual lack of motivation has hit an all-time-low today. I've only been at work for 2 hours and I've already had my breakfast and a snack and am considering eating another snack or my lunch because I just don't want to do anything other than eat. Blah
@AnnaS930 I've eaten 3 croissants since my Glucose test yesterday. I want to enjoy them before I'm told I can't. I really, really feel like this may be the wrong attitude, but I feel like I need to tell carbs goodbye properly!
Eta: This was me saying all I want to do is eat today (and yesterday), too. But that may be a response to the fasting. Haha.
@camichael84 - That's probably a good mentality. I felt so miserable after my glucose test that I didn't want to eat much carbs afterwards... I was pretty much throwing myself a pity party in advance. Once I got the call that I passed I've been carb-loading the last few days and just getting back on track.
@camichael84 right before my GD education class I got a HUGE soft pretzel and ate it with icing. I definitely wanted a good "last meal" before I was told I wasn't allowed lol
I really do commend you guys who are enjoying your carbs while you can, in case that changes. I'm just a "think the worst and be miserable about it" kinda person when it comes to some things. AKA I'm a party pooper.
Can I just tell you all that I have officially crossed into adulthood because I just got really excited about these adorable appetizer plates that match my dish set? I used to ask FI to buy me fancy outfits and now I want fancy napkins.

@Megan324 I knew I entered that phase my last year of college when I asked my parents for a vacuum for Christmas and was so excited to get one! That sucker was amazing and I was sad when it died, but dang was I happy to open it Christmas morning, 'Tickle Me Elmo' had nothing on that vacuum.

I was the kid at college with my own vacuum... I've been old my entire life.
I'm SO healthy guys, I'm sitting here snacking on trail mix... it contains raisins, peanuts... tiny pb cups, pb m&ms, pb chips and pb covered pretzels! HAAAAA!! Thank you Target for marketing what is clearly candy as a trail mix so I can feel good about snacking on it during the day. For those intrigued.. Archer Farms, PB Monster (the regular Monster is also good.. but PB makes the world better)

I was the same way when they told me I failed and was waiting for my appointment with the dietitian, even before they told me I failed I was cutting out carbs. I even went as far as to cut out everything and tell myself I'd probably done a lot of damage to baby eating all the carbs and drinking all the sweets. Just crazy lil old me.
@Mejijo - yay for new flooring and paint! Sorry it's been such a hassle, but hopefully it will look perfect once it's completed. And I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. Hopefully he returns soon FX baby b turns for you!!
@AnnaS930 - Sorry your husband is being a butt about his phone. Mine get's the same way, except he chit chats with his buddies for hours and it's always at innapropriate times, like right when we sit down to dinner. He's always so polite and declines phone calls when he's with other people and will say something like "I can't talk right now, I'm eating dinner" but when it's just me he's acts like it's "no big deal, it's just dinner with my wife." I love my husband dearly, too, and truly see our marriage being forever as well, but damn, marriage is not always an easy thing.
And I also want to welcome @bibliobebe - I noticed you seemed new around these here parts, but I'm glad you're joining us now!
@Megan324 - I know what you mean! After DH and I got married I had to get all the matching dish sets and was like I need all the mugs, the saucers, the dessert plates, the salad plates, the dinner plates, etc... and DH was like 'we don't need to be so fancy' and I'm over here like "think of the BRUNCH POSSIBILITIES!!! THINK OF THE INSTA PICS!" In reality, I rarely set the table with the fancy stuff, but when I do, I love that I can go all out.
@AnnaS930 Ahahaha! A while back, DH and I were getting trail mix for our trip to the zoo and saw that one (and the carmel one). I told him they sounded amazing, but were clearly candy and not trail mix. We went with one with dried bananas, cherries, pineapple, nuts, and chocolate covered peanuts. It was also sweet and so tasty!
@PoodleDoodleOoo - I'm sorry you face the same struggle, but glad someone can relate. He's really, really a wonderful husband and father... I could sing his praises for pages on here, but you get the point. Just that darn phone! I'm very sensitive about feeling like I'm being ignored (it goes way back to being a kiddo whose mother was often too absorbed in her own head to hear me out), and pregnancy makes me ultra sensitive (Shocking - I know!). So I keep nagging about the hone, he keeps using it and the cycle continues where he's annoyingly on his phone and I'm annoyingly nagging, and I just hate the tension and want us to enjoy time together.
@camichael84 - Oh, Caramel Cashew? hahahahaha, you can tell which ones I always pick out. I also got a bag of "Handful of Everything" which has some dried fruit, coconut, etc.. which I think can at least somewhat pass as a trail mix.
@PoodleDoodleOoo Oh I most definitely just ordered the rest of the entire line (except for some ugly salt/pepper shakers and the napkin holder, im not a diner) FI gave me a 300$ budget and I only used 150 with coupons so I think I did good haha
I feel the same way-- It will be nice to have for the special occasions. this is my fall/winter set so I totally see using it for holidays
@AnnaS930 When people are on their phones when we are together I whine and say "Pay attention to meeeeeee" in a very over the top way It usually gets them to stop lol

HA! I'll keep that in mind as my next tactic.
I wrote husband a note this morning explaining why my feelings were so hurt, he responded explaining that he was disrespectful and rude but that there's more going on (he was texting his dad who he recently found out is in therapy again for his depression, some/all routing from him feeling like he lacks a relationship with my husband). So we have more to talk about, and I've explained that he needs to talk to me about these things instead of bottling it up (he has a tendency to do this),. and just explain that to me, not say "I don't care what you say" ...anywho, we'll see.
@fireflygirl12 - NOOOOO! Cribs for life! How old is DS2? My son is 18 months and has never attempted to crawl out, but I fear for that day. He's an amazing sleeper, but wakes up during the night to change position/grab a blankie/whatever and soothes himself back to sleep. If he had freedom to get up and roam during those times, I'm afraid we'd be doomed.
Last night he cried out probably 8 times, it was the worst night he's had in months.. but each one was like a 5-10 seconds of displeasure before locating a blankie, so I never had to get out of bed. I love his baby jail so much, please don't let him ever climb out.
My husband was the same way and one day I straight up asked him "am I an awful dinner date? Do I bore you? What could possibly be on Reddit that is more entertaining than me and can't wait?" Since then he has been much much better and will only pull out his phone if we are talking about something and a question pops up. He will google it, share the answer and then put it away again
@annas930 he just turned 2. I was spoiled with DS1 being an ultimate rule follower who stayed in his crib until WE MOVED HIM a few months ago after he turned 3.
DS2 is a good sleeper, but the only reason room sharing was successful was b/c DS2 was confined. They both typically go to sleep right away and sleep fine. Last night bedtime took over an hour b/c they are so excited running around and being crazy.
My husband doesn't tend to use his phone at dinner, unless as you said - we're looking something up for fun. It's any time I'm driving and he's the passenger, while we watch TV at night or are just hanging around the house. If it was at dinner I'd snap big time.
I'm so peeved, for our friends wedding (the one i keep bitching about lol) I bought them coffee cups off their registry for her bridal shower and planned on getting the espresso machine for the wedding. I like to buy my gifts in a theme. But! Some one already bought it and I told FI that we needed to buy it now before someone else did but noooooo he wanted to wait.
This really doesn't matter at all but I do things a certain way and I get annoyed when I have to change it
@AnnaS930@Megan324@LakeR2014@PoodleDoodleOoo Thank you guys! I read the threads for a bit before deciding to join because I really did have a yucky experience at another website early on and I was wary but desperate for some kind of mama-to-be companionship, haha.
But I love the atmosphere in this forum! Thanks for welcoming me in. I'm happy to join you lovely ladies!
@AnnaS930 - Awww! Crib climbers! My kid brother learned how to climb out of his crib before he was old enough to walk. Hilariously (and also weirdly) the Dr. told my mum to turn the crib UPSIDE DOWN over him, so he was literally in a cage for a few nights until mom couldn't handle it anymore. She finally just brought him in the room and put him in bed with her and my dad. He preferred to sleep in their room for the rest of his life. I kid you not. That boy was in his 20's and if he was visiting my Mom and Dad and woke up in the middle of the night he would go into their room and sleep on their couch.
I worry about the climbers too. We bought a house that has the MB on the main floor and all the other bedrooms are upstairs, which means that at some point LO is going to be upstairs and we'll be downstairs. All I know for sure is that there will be a gillion baby gates.

This year for my birthday I asked for new pots and pans lol
That seriously sounds to die for right now
