We've been tossing a few around. For a girl I like Melody Ann or Melanie Ann. For a boy we're still discussing.

Edited to add: I completely forgot that I like Isaac Lee for a boy's name. Lee is my dad's middle name (and it's a family name on his side). Also, Ann (a possible girl's middle name) is my best friend's middle name. I really love my mom's middle name too (Faye) but it's hard to fit it in with a first name, to me that is.

@moonlady that's a good idea. I think I'll run that idea by my dh. With our first, I was so excited when we had finally settled on a name, and I very excitedly text my mother to tell her, and she replied back how much she hated that name, then proceeded to list all the reasons why, then proclaimed she would come up with a nickname for the baby. It had me in tears for hours. We still named our daughter what we had chosen, but to this day (she's almost 3), my mom still won't call her by her full name. It's infuriating, but I've ceased to fight her on it.

Am I the only one who could thinm of a million girl names I would LOVE, but cannot make up my mind on a decent boy name. It either sounds too hoky to call a baby, or too kiddish to call a man when hes older...

My dh and I have the opposite problem. Last time and this time, we came up with a boy name quickly and easily. Our trouble is girl names.

There are some great names in here!

If we have a girl we have been talking about Cassidy, but we aren't sure. My name starts with C, my husband with K, and my daughter with K...it's probably best to stick with the theme so we don't have 1 odd-one out.

I don't have a boy name picked yet. I totally have a gender preference this time around (boy!), so I'm not picking a boy's name unless we find out were having a boy. I think falling in love with a name will make it harder on me if it's a girl and I need to get over it and quickly get on the "grateful for a healthy baby girl" bus.

We did this when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was feeling stressed about other people having an opinion so we decided to announce the name after my daughter was born and it was a done deal.

Also, one of the ultrasound techs who works with my OB told me she and her husband had committed to a name for her daughter (even monogrammed and personalized a bunch of things for her), but when her daughter was born they didn't want the name anymore, so they went with a totally different name. I can see myself doing that, so I figured if I didn't tell anyone beforehand then they wouldn't know if I changed it last minute!

I would love to find an "m" name for our bub since hubs is T, I'm E and my girl is A. We would be a TEAM hehe

but currently we have Everly Alexis picked out for a girl (Eva is both my grandmas names and Alexis is sort of my and my 2 cousins middles so it's like a family name) my first is Abby Jean after hubby's grandpa Abner and grandma Jean. So this time my family needs to be incorporated somehow.
We have zero boys names picked out so hopefully it's a girl.
i have tons of names I like but hubby keeps putting them all down

This has been an ongoing debate in my house. My husband likes classic names. I want something a little different.
Girl- I think we are pretty set on Ava Reese
Boy- Grayson or Bennett. We will most likely use my husbands middle name Daniel.

My maiden name is Sawyer so we will be doing Sawyer for a boy or a girl

Sawyer Ryanne if its a girl

Nothing set set for boy names, which is opposite of last time. We had a boy name right away and no girls names. We like Clark, Griffin and Maddox for a boy, but no favorite.

I caved and told DH that if this little boog is a boy, he can have his dream boy name which is (his name) The Second. We will call him Deuce.

Because I'm allowing this monstrosity to happen, I'm expecting big leverage for the girls name. Top contenders are Harlow, Olive, or Maeve.

For a girl, we like Iris and Bonnie so far. Our first daughter is named Rosemary Alice.

For a boy, we like Edwin after my grandpa. I like Robin but my husband thinks it's too feminine now.

Thinking about names is my favorite part of pregnancy. I won't find out the gender and we won't settle on a name until we meet the baby.

Whatever you do, don't tell people your names. We had a name for 7 months for a boy. People were so annoying. We picked Ezra around 8 months and just told people when they asked "we are just waiting for him to tell us what his name is when we see him."

if you decide to tell people, just give them a dirty look before they open their mouths with an opinion

@TinaBelcher my favorite girls name is Noelle but the hubby and my MIL are against it as a first name since it will sound too "Christmasy". I have the go ahead for it as a middle name if we have a girl though. The reason they think that? My last name is Nicholas...and my own due date was January 14th but I was born the day after Christmas instead so I wonder if this one will follow my footsteps and arrive right before Christmas since my due date is the 11th

Easy one:

Girl - Louisa Catherine (Lulu for short). Both our Mum's names.

Boy - Hugh Edward. Hugh was a name that was passed down for generations until my uncle decided to end it by calling his boy Liam. I want to restart the tradition. Edward is a family name on both sides.

We're pretty settled in Ridley Dean for a girl but for a boy we're still up in the air between Miles and Fox and maybe the middle name James, maybe not, maybe a second middle name with it. We'll see.

Our two DDs both have A names and have insisted that this kids also have an A name. And since they won't share last names with the baby (DH is my 2nd marriage), we thought we'd just go with it so they have something in common.

For a girl: Amelia Harper. Totally in love with the name and don't plan on switching it. The only unexpected thing is that our 6 year old gets tongue tied when she says it.

For a boy: Alden Cooper. I still feel a little iffy about it for some reason. But there aren't many boy A names that I do like, much less that DH and I agree on. I also like Abbott and Arlo but DH doesn't like them...

I love dreaming up baby's name! But it's so hard for us to actually choose one. For girl, we like: Juniper Kait, Finley Kait/June, Eliza Kait/June, Cecilia Kait/June.

Boys are so much harder for us. But we really like Charlie. I like Bowen, Brooks and Soren too. Nothing narrowed down for a middle name.

Such great names ladies. We have added Claire, Eleanora, Elizabeth, and Helena to the list for girls. I really like Elizabeth, but that's our dd's middle name, and dh thinks it would be odd to use it as the baby's first name. I don't see anything strange about it, so we shall see.
The boy's name is already decided.

It took 2 months for OH and I to unanimously agree "Austin" is no longer the boy name (plus he seems certain we're having a girl, no idea why). So now all the names are back on the table aghhh.

For some reason all the boy names we have are ultra-nordic, mythological, or old english in nature: Magnus, Henrik, Orion, Soren, Orson, Merlin and a couple of norm-y names scattered in: Calvin, Abel, Finn

Then girl names are all the freak over the place: Beatrix, Clementine, Zora, Audrey, Evelyn, Lark, Harriet, Lucienne, Ophelia, Olympia, Louisa, Lenore.

I'm just going to assume that in the next 6 months we'll grow to hate all of these names haha.

I helped name my niece and two of my nephews - when I say "helped" I actually named 2 of them and came up with the middle name of the third. Now that I'm preggy, I cannot think of a single name! My sister is trying to help me and, even though she is so sweet, I remember now why I ended up naming her children.

Hubs loves the name Theodore but I do not like the name Ted or Teddy. He says "no one will call them that! We'll just tell them to call him Theo". I've mentioned the name to a few people and EVERY SINGLE ONE has said "oh, Teddy would be a cute nick name" lol.
