    @annas930 Thank you!

I was thinking they'd be fine, but paranoia has stopped me from trying so far, in spite of constantly having to haul them up.

@redmar Awesome, thank you!  That's good to know.

I thought it was just me that found them super itchy.

  • @cassloumy Congrats on a good anatomy scan and welcome to Team Pink!

  • Congrats @cassloumy!

Question for everyone, how many stores did you register at or are you registering at for your shower? How did you decide what to register for at each (especially if one store has most everything you need)? This baby registering thing is wigging me out a little. We spent 3.5 hours at BuyBuyBaby on Saturday and now I am trying to figure out what to add at Target while also kind of wanting to register at Amazon. Sigh....can I just hire one of you awesome ladies to do all of this for me?

  • @blondie080300  I registered at buy buy baby and target. I would have done only BBB but Target has more locations!

  • Thanks for all the feedback on the reunion, ladies. I think there's probably a reason I don't talk to most of them...so, I'll probably skip it. Chances are good the hubs will be out of town, anyway!

I, too, am obsessed with Etsy. I can't decide on sheets and its making me bananas. So, I just keep looking! I don't have an artistic bone in my body, so I'm grateful there are other people who can make beautiful things.

@blondie080300I am a total online shopper, so I registered mostly at Amazon and then I created a babyli.st registry that included items from target and ikea. I know some people prefer the in person idea but if I can get my mom to figure it out, anyone can.

Okay so my lovely daughter has been peeing on the floor and her pants the past two days. It started yesterday when I was in the bathroom and she just walked toward to toilet and peed on the floor. Then today we were swimming and she peed on the stone, then again in her dry clothes after lunch, a third time on the bathroom floor while I was bathing her little sister and just again in her jammies when I was putting Cam upstairs to sleep. What the heck gives?

Do do you think she is just seeking attention?? I keep asking her and she just won't answer me and smiles. She has been completely potty trained since last August so it's not like we are new at the potty training thing. I am just so confused right now

  • @blondie080300 - We're registered at both TARGET and Babies R Us for our first ones (and these two since some friends are throwing me a shower and requested ideas). Both lists basically have ever the same things on them - diapers, towels, wipes, bibs, a few sleepers etc. I figure TARGET has just about everything we'll need and then BRU has the rest. Target generally has more of a presence than BRU too so I figure it's good to give people an "easy" option in addition to something like BRU.

@seitzy3 - DS and DD have been having waaaay more night time accidents lately. (Fully potty trained for a couple of years including over night.) They use the bathroom before bed, we limit fluids before bed etc. I've started to think that it's attention seeking. Especially because they know that, at this point, the chances that I'm going to get up and change their sheets in the middle of the night is generally slim to none. (There's a waterproof cover on the mattress and I make them take their sheets off the next morning.) That means that they get to come into my bed and snuggle (DH works overnight so there's room). I think DS and DD are definitely looking for some extra attention at this point. It's been 4 of us for 6.5 years and everything is changing very quickly for them.

  • @blondie080300 For my first we registered at Target, BRU, and Buy Buy Baby. BBB was for completion discount and goodie bag only, and I never told anyone about it. I put pretty much the same/similar items on both registries. I knew I was running the risks of doubles, but figured that could happen anyway. I had to do a few exchanges, but not many.

@seitzy3 It could just be a phase/fluke, but it could be a UTI. If it's painful or she has a fever, I'd call your ped.

@blondie080300 I am registering at BRU and Amazon. Most of the bigger things I'm putting on the BRU registry and the Amazon one has smaller things like bodysuits, bibs, receiving blankets and so on. I am thinking the Amazon registry will mostly be used by my out of town friends/family who can't make it to the shower
  • seitzy3seitzy3 member
@LizC216 I'm pretty sure it's not a UTI just because it's not hurting her and it's also ALOT of pee. She is very vocal and I know if it was hurting she would say so. I'm hoping it's just a weird phase and she is just trying to get more attention. I guess we will see what she does at school tomorrow!

  • @blondie080300 I'm still trying to decide where to register too! I know I want to do Babies R Us because there are so many near us, and Amazon because who doesn't love Amazon! Other than that I'm not sure :/ I'm with you- doesn't someone else want to do this all for me? DH hasn't been into registering yet.

  • @blondie080300 I ended up using BabyList to keep track of my purchases and to complete my registry. People can buy from anywhere they'd like (and use whatever coupons they have). The other retailers do have those deals for items that are leftover once baby is delivered though.

Congrats @cassloumy !! Sounds like everything is coming together. :)

@blondie08003... I can never remember the rest of your name and it's not recognizing it?!! I registered at 3 places. Mainly Amazon because their selection rocks!
  • Both times we registered at babies r us only. I hate making registries online and bru has everything we need. People will shop off registry at all kinds of places for more personal gifts.

  • @RG1 - she's annoying, size comparisons, she has every symptom that she reads about at the exact time you might first have it, she keeps talking about how huge she is (she's the smallest person I've ever met). She's just really rubbing me the wrong way on all levels. You??

@blondie080300 I did Buy Buy Baby and Amazon. Buy Buy Baby is so great with returns and I wanted to register at an actual store for those relatives that aren't great with the Internet. Amazon was equally awesome and I loved that I could add things to the registry that weren't from Amazon (like bedding from Pottery Barn Kids). I also found that a lot of the times Amazon's prices were better than Buy Buy Baby.

I love Target, but at the time, my store's selection was a bit limited and I heard numerous stories about things not being marked off the registry, even though it was given at the time of purchase and then people having problems returning. Who knows? Maybe things run smoother now.

  • I registered at Target and Amazon but didn't share those, just for the completion discount. I did BabyList for the baby shower and I'm hoping people will figure it out. They send out cute little cards to put in the invites too. I liked that I could sort and organize the list, add from anywhere and add non-store gifts like dog walking etc.

@AnnaS930 ugh that would drive me nuts! I'd have a hard time holding myself back... I've become a bit snarky in pregnancy lol.
The other girl pregnant with me is not annoying at all, it's actually fun talking to her, but other people keep comparing our sizes and it's so frustrating. We basically looked the same pre pregnancy and look the same now so I don't really see the point (not that I would see the point if we did look different but it just seems weird like they feel compelled to mention size even though we look the same). It will be like "oh she's showing slightly more than you are and she's due a week later!" It's like they think they're complimenting me or something. Gets old real fast

Yeah, I think we all agree that being pregnant somehow makes people think its ok for them to say anything they want about your body... which is just so odd and rude
@AnnaS930 I agree! It's hard enough to come to terms with my changing body some days, I don't need people reminding me and commenting about it 24/7. Somebody actually asked me the other day if I think I'm "going to be a total tank" by the end. I was like umm... I don't know? I hope not?

@SLou24 I just laughed out loud at my desk! A tank?! A coworker told me last week to "relax, you'll look like a whale by the end"! Um...thanks?!   :s
  • @AnnaS930  Yay for the nice weather!   Enjoy it and your day off!

My day will be long today so I opted for an unusual cup of coffee (normally 3 cups a day pre-pregnancy/ one cup maybe once every two weeks now).   My co-worker saw it on my desk and gave me this look of 'Coffee?  Really?'.  I want to be all dude, your wife may have been a saint when she was pregnant, but I have a 15 hour day ahead of me and am maxed out on stress - back the F off!

In other news I'm a supervisor and one of my employees is out now so I'm covering their workload too.  This means I have lots to do when all I want to do is bump...probably also why I took the above thought on my coworker when I normally would've thought 'whatever.' :'(
  • @LakeR2014
I was judging a competition, had to leave my house at 5am, it started at 730 and at 2pm I requested coffee because I was falling asleep and they brought me decaf and told me they wouldn't give me caffeine because of "my condition"
Oh I was so annoyed I had my assistant go to dunkin for me.

  • Thanks for all of the insight on where to register! :)

Oh and for those that are nervous your SO won't be a good birthing partner, I HIGHLY recommend hypnobirthing! I completed my 5th and last class last night and DH and I learned so much! They really focus a lot on the birth companion's role in the birthing process too which helped my DH feel more comfortable than he was initially about the whole thing. He was so worried he would make a mistake or I'd be mad at him the whole time, LOL. Now obviously we haven't had the baby yet but I feel more confident and connected with DH regarding the whole journey we are on together. Plus, we saw a few birth videos too which helped desensitize us to it as well. I can not say enough positive things about the book and especially the class though! Oh and I am also considering hiring a doula now too. It is great to feel more confident in my husband that he will be a supportive partner, but I still feel like having someone like my hypnobirthing teacher (we actually may hire her since she is also a doula) in there will allow me to focus soley on my baby and my body in order to RELAX and deliver our baby the way I want to. It is just about peace of mind for me which it sounds like many of you are also seeking. <3

  • @Megan324 seriously!?  I would've blown a gasket!  Oh heck to the no!   I decide what goes in my body and is best for me and baby not you crazy people.
  • My random for the day is also a little bit of a rant.  I hate to complain but I also feel like I have to get this out there!

DH's new job has been super stressful.  He's training in a programming language that he's never used before and of his training class of four people, he's the only one without prior experience.  He's having a hard time staying caught up because the training curriculum is extremely intense and the trainer is only in town for four days and doesn't have time to modify pace to his trainees.  That, on top of the fact that DH is generally very hard on himself and, with each job change, typically goes through at least a couple of months of self-doubt (and therefore stress, anxiety and loooong nights (little sleep) "working to prove himself"), has made him super grouchy lately.  I get it - it's stressful.

BUT on top of everything, he insists on doing almost everything around the house himself because I'm pregnant.  (I've been having issues with spotting, frequent Braxton Hicks, etc. and it's freaking him out.)  Taking on every little responsibility, on top of what's going on at work, is killing him.  So last night I asked him to let me take the reigns a little bit for a few days just to get him through this training.  He got all stubborn and said I shouldn't be doing this and that and whatever and then got mad at me because he "didn't need a lecture."  Well, that just ticked me right off because I'm just trying to help!  And now HIS stress has ME stressed because this job change was supposed to be a great thing for our family and now DH is questioning his ability to even do the job he was hired for - that's scary!!!  I hope it's just him being hard on himself and everything goes fine as time goes on...but I can't help but freak out a little on the inside at the thought of this job not working out!  :anguished:

  • @JennM205 I'm sorry you're going through this. New jobs are always stressful. I'm sure things will work out and he will find his footing. Best of luck to you both!
  • @JennM205 -- ooh. That is hard. I can relate to an extent. While my DH never feels like he needs to take on more around the house (much to my chagrin), he does get SUPER stressed out and grouchy when he starts new jobs and is in the training phase. He does all of the stuff you mentioned with little sleep, lots of hours, lots of self-doubt, etc. It's hard on him and it's hard on me. I don't have any advice, but just wanted to let you know you're not alone on that. I hope he can take a step back for a minute and see that you are just trying to help--not calling his abilities, etc into question.  Hang in there.
  • @JennM205 - I'm sorry. It's so hard to see your SO being hard on themselves and getting stressed out because of it. Every once in a while DH starts doubting himself and his abilities with work and, even though I do everything to reassure him, it only helps so much. Hopefully after the training, your DH will feel better about things. I know for me, training only does so much. I have to be hands on to really learn anything.
Hoping things calm down for both of you soon!

  • @JennM205 I am also sorry to hear about the added stress. Is there any way you could hire someone to help out with the cleaning/lawncare for the next month or 2 while he gets a little better acclimated at work? That way he won't be worried about you doing it and takes a little of the pressure off of him? Either way, just know that new jobs are always stressful at the beginning when trying to learn and ramp up. Hopefully things will ease up a little once the baby comes and he better understands the programming. <3

  • @JennM205 my husband is the same way. He also goes through stages where he will fall into the overthinking and overworking cycle and gets really stressed out. I've written about it here before as with me pregnant he's wanted to take over more things around the house and gets so swamped that it puts him in a bad mood which, in turn, stresses me out. I've tried offering help at home and even suggested hiring someone  (but we both decided we'd rather save that money for baby). At this point, the only thing that has helped is letting things go a little bit. I'll tell him he doesn't have to mow the lawn tonight, even if it drives me crazy, or clean the bathroom right this second. I figure a few days of things not being perfect will not make a difference. He doesn't do the things around the house because I tell/ask him to, he does them because he doesn't want me doing them while pregnant. So when he starts going a mile a minute, I just ask him to come sit on the couch with me and relax, housework will still be there tomorrow.
