  • Ok maybe this is tmi... but since sex is off limits til doctors approval.. things in that department are super boring. What are you ladies doing to keep it not quite so dang boring!?
I'm 4 weeks PP and I have zero libido. How's that for boring. Anyone else feel the same way? Not sure if I should be worried.

  • Sunny side up moms: Did baby bruise your tailbone during delivery? If so, how long did it take to heal? Just delivered last night and had him out after pushing through probably 5 or 6 contrax, which my doula said was quite fast for a big sunny side up baby, but my tailbone is pretty tender.
Both my babies were sunny side up. With this birth it took a good week before I could lay on my back without tailbone pain. It mostly felt like pressure or like it needed to be adjusted. I only needed a couple days after my first.

Thanks. Mine feels like pressure too, or like I've been sitting in the car for hours. I'll gladly take a bruised tailbone over a tear.

Penetration is off limits, orgasm isn't!

  • LO kicked my incision this morning. Who knew a 4 week old baby could kick like Jet Li? Ouuuuchies.

I was lucky enough to get both haha! I'm 2 weeks pp and my hips/tailbone feel good as new.

I was about to ask this today! Since we've been home we've wanted to do the deed, I feel so much better not being 9 months pregnant. But unsure of how to get it back without penetration! And so scared because stitches. ..

I had to sit on a soft chair for a few days- our kitchen chairs were PAINFUL, so I drug an arm chair up to the table :) That only lasted a couple days.

I have too many stitches and too much bleeding to even think of letting any action go on down there (though in my head I've been ready for sex since about 18 hours PP), however I still enjoy making it not quite so boring for DH.

Me either. Zero. I feel bad for DH but I just can't get myself to be interested in any sort of intimacy.

Yup, zilch. It also doesn't help that I can still remember how painful it was after DD. We tried once after my 6 week appt and didn't again until 8+. Wasn't back to normal until after DD weaned at 5 months since the hormones for BF can make you all sorts of dry down there.

PSA: Lube. Lots and lots and lots of it.

Well shit. I have no drive either. Poor guys.... I seriously just get irritated when he asks. He knows I can't get any but he constantly asks for his own pleasure. I'm half tempted to buy him lotion and say "here ya go, enjoy your shower lol"

4 weeks PP and I'm still bleeding, have hemorrhoids and my boobs still feel like they're on fire. Welcome to the no sex zone.

  • I've heard lots of people say AstroGlide is best for post-baby sex. The old people lube. We did just fine with Target brand KY after DD1 but for those who are super dry, AstroGlide. Funny that this came up because last night when we got in bed DH goes "I'm more awake then I have been, too bad you're out of commission!" I'm with you all on having no drive, but didn't mean he needed to suffer! Lol

Im 4 weeks pp, and dh and I attempted to dtd yesterday. I havent bled since 2 weeks pp, and Im not sore down there anymore. However, it was pretty painful, with some serious pinching pain where my 2nd deg tear is. Im hoping after a few more weeks, things will be better. It sucks because Ive got my libido back, but sex hurts. I think I was also curious since everything else pp recovery wise has been a breeze for me, so I was hoping maybe pp sex wont hurt either. Wrong!!!  :(
  • Anyone dealing with carpal tunnel? I didnt get it till the last few weeks of pregnancy, but PP it is way worse! It is constant pain, and when I get up in the night, I have to flex my wrists a few minutes otherwise I am unable to pick LO up. Im going to ask my dr about it at my 6 week checkup, but does anyone have any advice how to deal with it? It seems to be getting worse as the weeks go by.
  • Anyone dealing or have dealt with a yeast infection pp? I have my two week check up on Monday but just curious if we are allowed to use over the counter stuff?

I had this terrible with my first aND now this time with my 5th.... usually much better by week four... no real remedy or advice other than  it will eventually go away :(
  • @loveymay most carpel tunnel is actually cause by a pinched nerve in you neck. The only thing that has ever helped me with mine is an ART certified chiropractor.

I didn't have any during pregnancy but have dealt with it PP. I started watching how I was holding my wrists while nursing and that helped a ton. Now I only notice it sometimes at night and it is pretty mild.

Sorry, but this is incorrect. The problem is at the level of the wrist. We can actually bring on symptoms by doing specific wrist maneuvers (look up Tinel's and Phalen's maneuvers).

If a problem is identified to be at the level of the neck and not at the wrist, a different diagnosis is made.

Nothing to add other than that hearing those tests made me think about work! I'm not ready just yet. Also, @loveymay my carpal tunnel took about 2 1/2 weeks to go away and I think it was partially because I was induced so I was pumped with lactated ringers for almost 30 hours - did not help my swelling!

I hope mine goes away soon, but on the bright side, my congestion is finally starting to clear up. I thought this day would never come! My nose started stuffing up around 6 weeks ppregnant. I'll take the wrist pain as long as I can breathe through my nose!  ;)

  • Im 3 weeks and a few days post partum and no longer have any pain or discomfort from my stitches.

I didn't wait the full 6 weeks with either of my first 2 and won't with this one. My dr. ok'd me for walking and easing back into running at 4 weeks (if I feel like it).

Lol nooooooo! So sad, but I feel like when I drink I pass out so hard, and baby needs me awake at night. Even one glass of wine is enough to really put me into a coma, so I've had a few sips of beer and that's all. Life is unfair!

Actually, carpel tunnel is often misdiagnosed. It was for me and I've heard countless stories of it. I was wearing a wrist brace for years and even had to switch majors in college. If someone is having trouble post partem from looking down at there child putting strain on their neck or even from holding the baby and straining the arm and wrist muscles, ART can be quite benifitial. I'm no doctor and can't testify to every case on here, but I struggled with it for ten years. I finally did much research on the subject and have now been symptom free for almost five years now. It's starting come back after leaning over my baby for feedings shortening those nerves and trying to support my nine lb+ four week old with just my arm.
  • Just had to make an appt for Wednesday with my OB to look at my perineal area. I'm 4 weeks postpartum, had a second degree tear, and one side of my vagina is red, swollen and painful. I thought it was just residual soreness and was avoiding looking down there, but I finally looked and I'm worried there is some sort of infection since the redness is localized to one side. No fever or drainage, but I am still lightly bleeding. Anyone have experience with trouble healing?

I was still sore at my 6wk appt after having baby #2. I felt amazing the morning after having baby #3. I'm still badly bruised 5 days after baby #4, due to him being sunny side up. Recovery varies greatly depending on length of l&d and severity of trauma to the nether regions.

The swelling right now is unreal. My face and hands are back to normal, but everything from the waist down is 3 times the size it was when I was pregnant, to the point where even the sweatpants I was wearing at the end of pregnancy no longer fit over my thighs. The tops of my feet hurt where the skin is stretching way too far. I'm only a week postpartum and they had me on IV fluids for a good 48 hours in the hospital because I was super dehydrated, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but I'd really like to wear pants again regardless. When Did everyone else's swelling start to go down?
