The swelling right now is unreal. My face and hands are back to normal, but everything from the waist down is 3 times the size it was when I was pregnant, to the point where even the sweatpants I was wearing at the end of pregnancy no longer fit over my thighs. The tops of my feet hurt where the skin is stretching way too far. I'm only a week postpartum and they had me on IV fluids for a good 48 hours in the hospital because I was super dehydrated, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but I'd really like to wear pants again regardless. When Did everyone else's swelling start to go down?
10 days was the magic # for both my pregnancies. Overnight it just dissapeared. Hope the end is in sight for you!
Anyone else dealing with pretty painful hemorrhoids? Holy Moses, I want to rip out my rectum! I've been using witch hazel pads and hemorrhoid cream for two or three months and it was just annoying, but I can't sit today or concentrate on anything!

Pick me. It's so bad still
Yeah, I'm a month out today and it is still pretty rough. My BMs have become very urgent (to the point where I only have a few minutes to get to a bathroom) and super painful. I have a bad combination of really bad gas pains and painful hemorrhoids.

I seriously almost cried today as I waited for M to get home so I could take a bath. Thank goodness DD was asleep in the swing!
A bath? Oh I want a bath so badly! I'm not allowed till after my doc gives me the ok at my six week check up. Two more weeks!
My doc told me to takers bath with just Epsom salt in the water to help with healing so I've been doing that for 4 weeks although I don't think I need to anymore. i had internal and external stitches and some internal ones busted open

My feet and legs were so so bad I couldn't wear pants or shoes for about 10 days after I have birth. it gets better I promise!

I dread having a BM . It's seriously terrible but I think the Epsom salt baths help

That's so weird to me. My doctor/nurses "prescribed" two a day while in the hospital and as many as possible at home to help with swelling, hemorrhoids and general soreness.

Omgoodness.. Yes! My swelling was terrible as well. They had me on IV fluids too and they kept giving me huge amounts due to my output not being a lot ( so they figured I was still dehydrated). Turns out the catheter was pinched do wasnt able to drain my urine. I was soooo swollen after burth. Went down about a week. Hang in there- it gets better.

I was told no bath til PP check up either. I thought it was weird that other moms were encouraged to bathe immedately honestly.. but at 2w I'm so ready to soak!

If I hadn't taken a bath yesterday I probably would have attempted to cut the hemorrhoid out with a steak knife.
I want my pregnancy hormones back! Okay- maybe not really but my skin was so clear and it glowed during pregnancy. Currently- I have 2 chin pimples and I am mad! PoSt partum hOrmones suck.
At 5 weeks and 2 days post partum hubby and I broke down and did the deed today. We tried to be good and wait until my 6 week appointment buuuut things happen. But now I'm freaking out because it wasn't until afterward that we realized we didn't use protection because we're not used to using protection since I was on BCP for 6 years before we started trying for a baby.
Realllly not into the idea of Irish twins! Hopefully being an EP'er will give me the same protection as BFing does as far as contraception goes! Getting back on birth control is now my top priority at my 6 week check up.

My brother and I were born in the same year. If it were to happen to me...

Btw.... EBF or EPING does not provide protection from pregnancy. That is a debunked myth. For many it can delay cycles and therefore most pregnancies BUT.... not always. Ps.... I got pregnant with my twins while EBF and using spermicide. Gah

This. It is a myth that EBF will prevent pregnancies. I know so many people who thought that and got two kids back to back...

That's it terrifying. My little brothers are twins and the thought of having my own set anytime soon gives me nightmares.

Needless to say... there were a lot of sleepless nights. I now have a 9 year old... twins who will be 8 in August... a 3.5 yr old aND a 7 weeker.... all boys
@redselig - So there's hope then! Haha! Baby is only 3 weeks, so maybe it will get better
There is hope! I'm so happy that the sensitivity is starting to subside. Such an awful feeling to have nipples react to the slightest brush, touch and temperature change.
Omg the temp change makes them hurt! Yes! I know what you mean.
I'm tired of bleeding. I know, I know, it's still early, I have no right to complain yet. But it is super annoying.
Why do we have to bleed for WEEKS after birth? It just seems like overkill. Thanks a lot, Mother Nature.
On a happy note, I am grateful that I don't have pain down below anymore. I think I'm mostly healed. Creepy internet hugs to those still suffering and healing.
Another thing, I thought the linea nigra goes away immediately after your belly shrinks. I had no idea it can hang around for a while.
My nipples felt like needles going through them for 6 wks with my first. Had no pain with #2 or 3, but had the same pain with this one. It started to get better after about a week and a half.
When I got a linea nigra, it lasted for months after birth.
As for the bleeding, I'm so glad to be using cloth pads this time around. They're so much more comfortable.

The bottom half of mine from my first pregnancy never went completely away T is 5 weeks old and mine is still super dark.
Mine also did not completely disappear from my first pregnancy. It's just another indication that I carried my babies and it doesn't bother me one bit!
For the past couple of weeks I've noticed that bending over and back up again, it feels like I'm pulling an abdominal muscle or something on the right side of my stomach. Is this something to be alarmed about? I've never had this feeling before and I'm wondering if I pulled something in relation to my PP recovery. Its noticeably uncomfortable when I do it and the sensation is only on one side (my right).
The gods mock me and do not shine upon me at all. Just got my period back at 7 weeks PP. FML.
Makes me want to smack my OB. She told me not to expect it for about 6 months.
i feel ya. I was 8 wks pp with #3 when mine came back, and I was ebf. I was 5.5 mos pp with my first two. I pray that this baby's insatiable appetite will keep it away until 5.5 mos...
