I posted a while ago (several months) introducing myself, hoping to give and receive support in this hell of infertility. I then fell off the face of the Earth because I had a lot of issues and I needed to just "chill." My definition of "chill" was ignoring everything pregnancy/baby/infertility related. It didn't work. I mean, it sort of did. I relaxed (*gasp* dare I say that word?) and I was able to regain my (broken) composure. But, let's be real. You can't ignore the miracle of life. And by that I mean you can't ignore everyone else's miracle. So here I am. Back fo' realz.
Name's Kristin. I'm a chemist. I'll be 25 in a month. Married since September of 2014 and TTC since then. We did get pregnant three times (May, August, November) and had early m/c in each. We never technically had the pregnancies confirmed since they were early and I was working odd hours at the time (so difficult to get appointments outside 9-5!), so the doctors don't necessarily "count" those pregnancies. I am fairly certain they were "real" only because I had very dark pregnancy tests (none of those *squinters*) and I had symptoms that I'm certain weren't imaginary. When the bleeding started (period? m/c?) I was two weeks late, which has never, ever happened, since I have never had a period that wasn't 28 or 29 days in the last five years... but than again, who knows?
Anywho, We had testing in February. Mine came back normal (though we didn't investigate past the normal CD3 tests). My husband's SA, on the other hand, came back with some issues. Docs were surprised I ever was pregnant (If I was...?). His sperm count was 9.2 mill. Morphology (WHO standards) was 9%. The Motility was fine at 59%. Total sperm count was 36 mill. Uh-oh. So we have a repeat test in May and then off to a reproductive urologist (OMG, 4 hours away!).
We are at the beginning of our journey, but the docs are already talking about IUIs, IVFs, and adoption. Doesn't sound good, does it?

I sincerely pray that each lady on this board finds just what she wants. Infertility sucks, but the people I have met thus far make it almost (almost, but not quite, I think) worth it.
    TTC #1 since September 2014
Diagnoses: RPL, Endometriosis, MFI (count, morph, DNI, DNAS, multiple bilateral subclinical varicoceles), low progesterone

  • Hi everyone! As my husband and I begin our 3rd cycle TTC #1, I thought it was a good time to come out of the shadows and start participating. My partner-in-crime and I have been together a long time, got married last year, and are excited to start our family. I've been lurking for two months, reading along almost every day, and learning so much from you TTGP ladies. I appreciate all of your words of wisdom and figure it's about time I start participating / lending support where I can. I look forward to getting to know all of you more!

    Hi ladies!

I've been lurking for a while, but thought I should introduce myself! My husband and I are both in our early thirties. We've been married for a bit over one year, together for eight years

This is our first month TTC #1. I've been temping and charting for the past four cycles. It's amazing to notice the differences in my body - I've been practising yoga and meditation for many years so I'm quite conscious of my body, but it's really special to notice changes in my body throughout my cycle. I've been off the pill for many years so we won't have to deal with those hormonal adjustments, but it's too early to see if I ovulate most cycles.

I'm now at 8 DPO and I'm driving myself (and DH) crazy with pregnancy tests. I know it's probably way too early for the test to detect hcg (or is it hgc?), but I can't help myself… I've taken one every day for the past 3 days LOL. Tonight I decided I'll only test if I get to CD 27 without a period (3 of the 4 cycles I charted were 25 days and the other was 26).  Seriously though - TWW is terrible!

Looking forward to chatting with all of you!

(Could someone tell me how to change my username???)
  • Welcome @Knottie1428014913

To change your username, you'll have to log in to "The Knot" with the same username and password you use for "The Bump". Go to "Account Settings" and then click on "Personal Details". There should be an option to change your username. Hope this helps!
  • @Knottie1428014913 Welcome! You have to log in to the knot to change your username!

Also, since you are charting, it's much more accurate to go by your normal luteal phase length than your typical cycle length for determining when your period is "late". Your LP is the typical number of days between ovulation and CD1. It is usually consistent within a day, whereas ovulation date can be much less consistent (and is typically when people think they're "late" but it's just that they ovulated later than normal). If you haven't read the newbie guide, it's got lots of good information! Good luck!!
  • Hi there,
My name is sarah, I'm 32 and my husband is 39. I work as an analytical biochemist I'm the pharma industry. I'm new to TB and joined out of frustration with my TTC journey. I need advice and to support to know others are going through the same thing!
My husband and I got married in October of 2014 and have two furbabies, Darwin and Tesla. We finally decided to start TTC #1 in the summer of last year after an amazing trip to Italy :) I stopped taking BCP in July and This is where I began to lose it... Lol I didn't get AF until November which the doctor wasn't too concerned about, he said if not in 6 months, call me. The first cycle was 100 days and as I approached day 70 of the next cycle I called the doctor because I was getting nervous it would be another 100 days, they prescribed me 7 days (5mg) provera and on the 14th day post provera, AF made an appearance. I was super excited things were happening, started obsessively symptom spotting, charting and researching. I got opks (clear blue digital advanced) and tested every other day until flashing smiley....the first three tests were negative, the next was a flashing smiley, exciting!!! Except I continued to get flashing smiley until I ran out of tests (12 days). Then I gave up! I called the dr, they told me to wait until CD35 and then make an appointment for bloodwork...which is April 5th. For some reason the other day I thought I should check an opk (wondfo) but quickly got frustrated because mine always are slightly positive...which means negative- those Damn lines. It was negative, but later that day some EWCM... Interested i tested the following morning, my first actual positive opk (CD40)! Holy moly! Followed by a day of cramping and another positive in the PM. I'm getting super excited that my body may have ovulated for the first time in 15 years!
I wish someone would have told me to get off the BCP a year in advance because most stories are of women getting pregnant and/or regular cycles right off the pill. My body just didn't want to do that I guess.
I am hoping I can start to have a regular cycle now so we can TTC. The most frustrating thing the last 8 months is that I have had no cycle to actually follow, understand or properly time to TTC.
Hopefully now things are looking up, it would be amazing to get that BFP but I would also be excited just to get AF in a week! How sad is that? I feel like with scheduling the dr appt and joining TB I have scared my body into shape hahaha
I look forward to going on this journey with you all!

We recently tried Clomid for 4 cycles and weren't successful at all. Despite the loving my obgyn as my doctor he sent us to a  reproductive center for a specialist to start the process of IUI OR IVF. I am very nervous about attempting IUI/IVF this year but i am very excited to finally have a little bit of answers on our path to take on to the motherhood land. Has anyone encountered IUI OR IVF to be as hard and emotional as i've read in the boards? i would love to speak to  many of you and hopefully relate our struggles and gain support from many PCOS CYSTERS out there 3

thebaylors321 I would definitely suggest participating in the Infertility board as well. They are most specialized in questions regarding IUI and IVF and offer a month board for women going through treatment. It allows you to connect with other ladies who will have their transfer dates very similar to yours.

    Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking the bump threads for awhile and am coming out of the woodwork. I have been married almost 5 years now. My husband and I started TTC our first in September 2015. Around November we actually started trying to "time" DTD, although I wasn't tracking my OPKs or anything like that- just based off of my pretty regular 29 day cycle. We received our first BFP on January 14th with an EDD of 9/23. I lurked the September 2016 BMB for awhile. After 2 completely normal ultrasounds and great heartbeats, I found out I had a missed miscarriage last Wednesday. I was suppose to be 13w5d, but baby measured 9w with no heartbeat. I had a D&C this past Friday, and am waiting for my HCGs to drop so I stop turning tests positive. My doctor said that we don't have to wait to TTC again, beyond the 2 week post op healing period.

The first couple of days after finding out were tough, but as of now I am doing great. I am ready to try to get another BFP and have a successful pregnancy. I won't really be able to "time" anything until I get my first AF. I am excited to actually start participating on this board!

  • Hello! I joined the boards and have been lurking for a couple of weeks so I thought I would finally do an intro. I am 29 and my DH and I have been married 2 years. We just started TTC for #1 this cycle. Since I just came off of birth control I don't have a lot of previous information about my cycles or Os so I used OPKs this cycle to track estrogen and Lh surges. Thanks to the recommendation Im seeing on these boards I started a FF account and will start temping next cycle if we don't see the BFP this cycle. I've appreciated all of he info and advice I've seen so far!

  • Hello everyone! I am new to this group/page. My DH and I are TTC baby #5, sounds crazy I know but we have more love to give! My other 4 were not planned and I was on BC with all of them. I had my Mirena IUD removed in January and assumed we would conceive right away. Unfortunately, that didn't happen since we are on the 3rd month of trying and I can't seem to catch an egg. I've been charting temps, using OPKs, started taking folic acid, prenatal vits, and B-complex back in November. We started BD on the 23rd daily. Currently, I am on CD13 with a negative opk. My cycles are ~25 days apart. I know they say it can take up to a year, but I am going to be 34 this August and wanted to be done by 35. Any helpful hints would be great!

    Ovulated 2/9/16, 3/7/16

Taking 5mg Folic Acid (1000 mcg prenatal, 400 mcg b-complex, 3600 mcg FA supplements)

    Taking GNC Prenatals without iron

Taking Claritin D, Singulair, and Flonase

    Taking Biotin 10000

    Taking B-complex gummy

Hi everyone!  I've been lurking and taking in info for a couple of weeks.  I am 34 and DH is 33, from Milwaukee.  We got married in June 2015.  I am off BCP as of January 2016.  I haven't been charting yet...thought we'd just "see what happens" for a couple of months.  After the mutual disappointment of a BFN last month, we decided it's time to actively TTC.  I'm currently on CD11 so just waiting and reading about all of you lovely ladies.  I look forward to getting to know you!
  • Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm new to thebump and have started posting a few times in the Infertility forum but also have been browsing this one. I'm hoping to find some support and reassurance during this difficult journey, and have heard that these forums can help a lot with that  I just turned 30 and DH is 32. Our RE has diagnosed us with unexplained infertility. RE suggested Clomid and IUI as our next step, so this is our first cycle trying that. Also on progesterone and estradiol for thin lining. I'm in the dreaded tww now and just trying to stay positive and busy. Thanks for reading!

  • Hi! I'm Kami, I'm 28, my husband and I had a wonderful little boy in Oct 2014 (he was due Sept, so I was a member of the Sept 2014 board, lol), but we just starting trying for #2 this week, and I'm really excited! According to my Shine app, ovulation is this week, so I'm praying that maybe this is the week, but it's our first try this go around, so I'm trying not to get my hopes too high. It took 7 months to conceive my son, but I also think there was a lot about conception that I didn't know back then. So I'm starting journey #2 armed with much more knowledge!

Hi everyone, I am a long time lurker and finally feel ready to participate. My DH and I have been TTC since last February. We got our first BFP in August, but that ended in a MMC when I went for my 11 week US. We took a few months off (per Dr) and are now actively trying again. I have really long, irregular cycles and finally decided to start temping and charting last cycle. I'm feeling more confident about this cycle now and am glad I took the advice given in this community. I look forward to joining you all. FX no one is here too much longer!

Hi everyone! DH and I are both 32 and we're TTC for 6 cycles when we got our BFP this December. Sadly, it ended in a missed miscarriage in February when I was 10 weeks. I Have been really active on the miscarriage/pregnancy loss board as well as the TTCAL board.

This now our first cycle TTC since our loss and I'm excited and scared! Currently in the dreaded TTW and trying to keep it together. We are also seeing a genetic counselor in a week because our loss was due to a chromosomal issue that their is a slight chance could have come from one of us. We wouldn't normally be concerned since we've only had one loss but we each have a parent who was adopted so we have huge holes in our medical histories.

Anyways, I look forward to spending time chatting with everyone here!

    Hello !

My name is Kelsey and my DH Adam and I have been married since October 2015 and were together 8 years before that starting when we were in grade 12. We are both 25 years old and have a darling kitty Tilly as well as 3 red eared slider turtles named Willow, Shylow and Barlow. I am a medical radiation technologist (I take x-rays and EKG heart tracings) and my DH completed schooling for a police officer but is currently very involved at our fire hall and is taking courses to become certified. We both are from Brantford, Ontario, Canada but moved to north to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada about 2 1/2 years ago. We started TTC our first child at the beginning of April 2016. We adore the outdoors and nature (even though it there is snow on the ground for 8 months out of the year).

Thanks for welcoming us <3 !

I'm almost 36 and TTC #1. DH is 31 and we've been together for 9 years- only married since June. I started temping in January since we weren't having any success getting KTFU. Turns out I had no idea what my body was actually doing but have learned so much here.  Really looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi all! DH and I are both 28, married Sept 2012. We are TTC #1, recently suffered a natural MC. We have been TTC since last year. We have some fur babies (canine, feline, and ferret). I have my follow-up next week and am hoping all is healthy to keep TTC and hoping/PRAYING for motherhood very very soon. It has been an emotional roller coaster. I am new to TheBump...looking for support during TTC, suffering the loss, and hopefully getting pregnant soon. Hugs to all suffering loss/infertility. <3 Happy to be a part of this community
  • Hello everyone! I'm 28 (29 next month) and DH is 39. We've been married since Aug 2015 and just started ttc this past month. My first 2ww has been making me crazy but now I'm pretty sure AF is about to make her appearance unfortunately. I've been wanting a baby for a long time and am really excited to start our family. We currently have 4 adopted cats (a hazard of both of us working for animal control/shelters for years). I stopped taking BCP in Dec 2015, I didn't temp this cycle, I thought it was worth just trying lots of sex without stressing about it for a while. As it turns out I'm stressing anyway so I think I will start charting next cycle (unless I'm wrong about AF, but I doubt I'm that lucky). Hopefully I'll feel better knowing I'm doing everything I can.
  • Hello! My name is Sharlene I'm 21.  :'(  :'(:'(
I never knew trying to get pregnant could be so hard. I've been ttc (trying to conceive) for about 5 months and every month failed. My cycle length is never the same (28 day cycle). My cycles
    -December .16, 2015 (25 length)
    -January 9, 2016 (33 length)
    -February 10, 2016 (29 length)
-March 9, 2016 (27 length) I've called my doctor the week I thought I would be ovulating and she told me that was my week so me and my fiance had sex almost that whole week. Now we're in April and AF (aunt flow) arrived on the 4th. I'm look at the apps I have and the internet for when I might ovulate for this month and everything says the 17th. Can you help me figure out when I might be ovulating so I can get on the road to motherhood. :#

  • New here so I thought I'd do an intro--I'm 28, so is DH.  Next cycle will be our first of trying in earnest.  We didn't avoid last month but timing was not intentional--just began charting in March. Ive already got two DDs (8&6) from my XH. DH doesn't have my bio children but is a terrific parent to the girls. Looking forward to learning more about you guys.
    DD1 (2008) DD2 (2010), #3 (DH's first bio kid) on the way in January 2017!
Almost always mobile bumping--forgive my typos. :)
  • Here goes nothing...

My husband and I are both in our thirties and went off birth control in November to attempt our first child.  It's now April and I feel like my body is finally finding its "normal".

We are both very busy with our jobs and other activities and find that we are tired more often than we should be.  Along with a dog in the bed our timing isn't usually the best.

Anyway I find it easier to share with strangers because I don't really want to add the stress of people  asking.  I've been lurking for a couple months and love how supportive it is here.  I'll always be mobile bumping so there's that.
  • I know what you mean about being easier to share with strangers. I feel the exact same way. But not talking about it was driving me crazy. I've only told 1 person I actually know IRL and that I kind of blurted out by accident when she told me she was expecting, it caught me by surprise and I might have started to melt down a little (not the first time that's happened to me either...). I'm lucky that she's been quite supportive and promises to keep it to herself, but I still feel like having someone that knows adds pressure to have it happen quickly.
