I am either uncomfortable, irratible, or irrational 99% of the time. 3rd trimester at its best. I have nothing done for the baby. Like nothing at all and I only have approximately 7 weeks left.

I totally feel the same way!  At this point I want to do things for the baby but can't.  I managed to get baby clothes washed.  Can't put them away- my parents have yet to bring me my dresser. Or my crib for that matter.  So I can't even get that bed made.  Can't put the car seat in the car yet- my shower is Monday and I'm going to have a big load of goodies to haul back home, and will need to fold the back seats down.  Only thing right now in my hospital bag is one pair of pajamas.  Don't even have the diaper bag packed- was told I'm not allowed to buy anything until after my shower.  So I'm stuck.

But my shower is Monday!  I don't have much longer to wait :)

What did you ever decide with your crib?  I know you were talking of getting a new one and not using the one your mom had been storing.  I'm just curious.

  • I'm hosting a shower at my house tomorrow and DH is out of town so I'm doing everything myself. My dad is coming over to mow my yard for me because dads are great! My mom was supposed to come help me tape babies room so everything would be ready for DH to do when he gets back but now she says she's too tired. I'm kinda mad but trying not to be? Idk it's dumb

I'm feeling the same way about my mom/stepfather and my baby furniture.  They have it, they have the truck to bring it, but just won't/have not yet.  I feel kinda mad and stuck because I really can't get anything accomplished without the furniture there.  Its frustrating especially now because after speaking with the doctor, and learning that even though I only have 3 shots left I can really go at any time from 36 weeks on (I'm 33 now), it feels like my time has been shortened and I need this stuff done NOW.

Let's just blame it on stupid irrational pregnancy hormones lol.  Gotta have a scapegoat!

LOL I have the same issue with the furniture too. My parents were going to buy it as a gift but now my dad may be getting laid off because his company just got bought out. I'm trying not to ask about it but I'm at a serious standstill here on baby things. I wish he'd just say hey we can buy it anymore so we could go to a plan B. I don't even mind them not doing it I just want to know what I need to do
  • I'm in a weird nursery boat because we're not necessarily decorating a new nursery for this baby, but DS is getting a big boy room.  DH has been working on it since Christmas (it's a full gut job).  He's got to finish the window and door trim plus make the box seat, and then we have to get the rug, window treatments, and convertible crib (since DS's current one doesn't make into a toddler bed, it'll stay in the nursery), plus a few other decorations and such.  It feels so far away.

This has been us with getting all of the old clothes from our bigger boys out of the nursery.  It has taken us for.ev.er.  We're finally cleaning out the room.  Through this process and DS2 still being in a crib, we kind of changed nursery themes and are doing grey and white instead of the jungle prints we originally had.  Kind of nice to do a "new" nursery after having two in the jungle.

I'm just stuck on the mowing lawn part. I can't imagine living somewhere where my grass is green, growing, and not covered by feet of snow in January. You may have a house guest this weekend, wind chills in the -40s are forcasted for Sunday morning where I live. So far we've had such a mild winter all this talk of possible "record breaking cold" is making me chilly already!
I was thinking the same thing.  We've been under a layer of old snow for 3 weeks now.

  • I finally got my dresser and glider delivered today. I was originally told they couldn't get it here until March, so I've been so stressed about having nothing done. Too bad they took a chunk out of my door frame and then got mad that I mentioned it and didn't actually set up the furniture like I paid for....

Can y'all send me some of that snow? It's a beautiful 72 degrees here and my yard still has to be mowed at least once a week too. I guess that's better than shoveling snow though?
  • @JessKo08 @skruhmin It is supposed to drop a lot this weekend (boooo) but today it's 70.
  • It's a balmy 35* here today.  Heat wave.

  • 9* here today but feels like -9*, the warmest it will be for 36 hours. Oh well... We're tough here. Our furnace works and I have a reliable vehicle, it could be much worse.

March 2016 Moms: January Siggy Challenge "Pregnancy Problems"
  • Was doing some research, turns out more than half of twin pregnancies end up as preterm (36 weeks or less). I'm 30 weeks now. Wow. This is getting more real by the day
  • I'm on my second bath of the day. Man, being pregnant is hard.
  • @SarahFoley725 A bath sounds heavenly, maybe I'll try to squeeze one in tomorrow.

@red3ye that does seem super soon!!

When I get up we are painting the nursery and moving all of the old furniture out! The newly slip-covered glider will come in, new curtains will be hung, and one dresser will go in place...which means, I can start laundry!

    It's all coming together now!
    BabyFruit Ticker

  • @red3ye that means we could be going into labor around the same time! I'm 33w4d (since it's after midnight now) so I've only got 6w3d left till my EDD. As long as the babies are healthy!! :)
    DS1 born 2/28/16
    DS2 due 12/12/18

  • Yeah, we all need healthy babies
  • The Temps didn't get above 20 degrees here all week which is the allowable temp for the kids to have outdoor recess. So needless to say, after a week straight of no recess at all for my small chikdren, I was glad when Friday came.
  • I just made the mistake of looking back at my pregnancy journal from last time, and happened to see that I weighed 10 lbs less @31 weeks than I do this time. And when I gave birth, I weighed less than I do now :(

Nevermind.  Pregnancy brain for the win.
  • With the exception of the crib mattress, changing pad, and a few pictures the nursery is done. Hallelujah!!
  • I know this was talked about a lot time ago, but we binge watched the Avery murder case this weekend. Regardless of the outcome or the possibe bias in the show it's sad to see how unfairly people can be treated.
  • Ugh enough with the stress! I have my shower tomorrow, and DH's gallbladder has decided to act up. He had a major spell with it 3 years ago, but this idiot hospital being the way it is decided to leave it in and keep him in the hospital for 4 days instead of removing it. He didn't have health insurance at the time so they thought that was the smart thing to do. This is the first time since then that it has given him problems. Idk what to do other than worry. We have insurance now bit I can't get h to go to the er after work... but I will have to listen to him be in pain all night.

I just want to break down and cry

  • I'll cry with you. :'(

DS is all-out sick: fever, sometimes runny nose and watery eyes, and has eaten only a tiny bit today. Poor baby! I'm terrified that it's Strep (which he's had 3 times already in his 2.5 years). Depending on how tonight and tomorrow morning go, we might be going to the Dr. I really don't want him to have his tonsils removed, though MIL makes it seem like he'd be a good candidate at some point because his cousins both had the same issues and now don't have tonsils. So. Much. Stress. I hate being unable to make it better.

I'm so sorry, @charley15 I hope he's feeling better. My mom had hers out urgently and it was a stressful experience.

@bethanynaom my son has had it at least 8 times, but most peds won't remove unless they reach a specific threshold of having it within a specific amount of time. It sucks to see them suffer. :(

Yeah, every birth month had the same problem. I posted a 'please read the rules'
I saw that you were the most recent poster and was afraid you had your babies! Glad you stepped up to remind people instead, I couldn't bring myself to be the police.

I woke up to 5 new comments on there, with @red3ye's being the last and I thought the same thing!

@thecubiclee congratulations!  I hope all is well!

Same! I saw @red3ye as the most recent poster and seriously jumped up and shouted! My kids were like "what, mama?!" And here I was thinking we had 5 births already, too. Read people! (Not you, red3ye :kissing_heart:)
@thecubiclee hope you and that beautiful babe are both doing very well! <3
