Over the past 4-5 days I have also shifted from feeling distinct kicks to just feeling movement. I feel him roll and move around several times a day, but haven't felt actual belly-deforming kicks for a few days. I have a Doppler and his heart rate has been same as usual -around 140bpm. I have just attributed it to position and haven't worried about it, but should I?
I've noticed this too with this pregnancy and my last. They're running out of room in there and by the end all I felt were rolls. He also could've turned to face your back. Kicks from that angle feel much more dull. As long as you still feel him moving around and his heart rate is stable, I wouldn't worry about it.
@thaisac1 as long as you can feel him move and you can hear his heartrate I think it's fine. I have been worrying myself sick the past few days for no apparent reason and I'm trying to learn to relax.
@thaisac1 that's a little disappointing - LO has finally gotten over her stage fright and has begun playing with DH at bedtime; DH will poke on the side of my stomach, wait for a kick in response, and gradually make his way across my belly with her. He was so excited to finally be able to feel! (I've been feeling her from the outside for weeks, but she would immediately stop moving as soon as he tried to feel.)

I know for a fact he was facing my back 4 days ago as I had an ultrasound. He was head down, facing my back, and literally folded in half (see pic below). Maybe that's why I don't feel as much. I actually just listened with my Doppler and while I could hear him move I could not feel him move.
I wondered about the growing out of room possibility, but figured I'm too early (26.5w) for that.
@AmadorRose yes my boy has stage fright also, but several times he kicked my husband in the face while he was talking to my belly. Quite hilarious. Today my husband mentioned that he hadn't felt kicks for a few days, that's what got me thinking about it.

DH and I have a good laugh every time he gets kicked in the face. He has a big, heavy melon - I'd kick it too!
My DH was also recently kicked in the cheek and it scared him! He said he had no idea she kicked that hard yet.! The baby rolling around makes me feel uncomfortable and queezy sometimes.
So I just got a ton of kicks, and hubs felt them too. crisis averted he is kicking super low though, so I think he's still in the "folded in half" position above.
I enjoy feeling LO kick every night, and tonight my fiancé was finally patient enough to get kicked as well. Not the first time, but it hasn't been very often so far.
How can you tell the difference between movement, kicking, and hiccups?

How can you tell the difference between movement, kicking, and hiccups?
Kicks are way more pronounced than general movement for me, as my placenta is posterior and this girl is wild. Hiccups I feel are light and rhythmic.
I feel my little Girl all the time! My DH keeps touching my belly waiting to feel her on the outside but nothing yet. If you were a little heavier before pregnancy when did you start feeling LO move from the outside? DH is anxious to join in on the fun of me feeling her all the time.
I've been feeling her for a long time but finally at 25 weeks I can feel her on the outside. She is super active early in the morning and late at night so not many other people have been able to feel her. SO thinks it's weird and SIL keeps asking if she is moving bc she got to feel her first when we were on vacation.

Kicks/punches feel like sharp jabs, hiccups would be like you had your phone on vibrate in your pocket (a very slow vibrate) but accompanied by knocks at your cervix (since LO is probably head banging in there from the hiccups), and general movement feels like something is trying to escape alien style. At least, that's for me. General movement also feels like a buildup of pressure, depending on how LO is moving. He likes to stretch out as much as possible, so I get a lot of pressure in my lungs/rib cage.
@Knottie9983816 I feel hiccups as a rhythmic twitch, just like when we have them. My first child had them not at all, and my third only a couple of times the whole pregnancy, so you may or may not feel them.
EEEEEE! So excited! Was feeling some pretty heafty kicks yesterday so I decided to lift my shirt in case I could see anything... sure enough! Little trembles and big kicks! When DH came home we looked again and he saw too! So cool!!!
I am spending today trying to be as positive as possible, and I'm including mentioning that I have yet to have a kick that actually hurts. Some are more awkward feeling than others, and distracting, but I have yet to be hurt by one. (Worst kick made me pee but it was where the aim was, and not due to super karate ninja strength)
LO may just be a drummer... He kicked to the drumbeat of the song I was listening to on the radio. His drummer grandpas and uncle will be so proud.
I'm also starting to think DS1 will be a guitar player. He loves guitar solos when we listen to music. Singing, too, but the look on his face during a guitar solo cannot be matched.
Oh my word! It's starting to get very distracting! Don't read any further if you are a bit sensitive because the next part does include a very recent loss of my furbaby. On Tuesday I had to take in my kitty of almost 16 years (I got her when I was 10 and have done absolutely everything in her training and raising her since then.) to the vet because she was having grave difficulty breathing. We were having a discussion over her of if it would be more humane to "Let her sleep" and Jr was jumping around like crazy... more so than ever before!!! I know he probably felt my stress, but seriously!!! I'm making one of the hardest and painful decisions of my adult life this kid had no respect. (If you do want to know, we did make that hard but best decision and I really miss her, but baby kicks did actually help a take some of the edge off so I really am grateful.)
So I took the GTT yesterday morning and there was a little movement during, but now nothing. I'm going to lay in bed for most of today, so hopefully I feel something... LO is usually active at night so last night was not very comforting. I know most people say that theirs crashed after the GTT, but it's been almost 24 hours. I just want to feel something.

I didn't feel any movement for several hours after the GTT, which I took yesterday.. But after I ate a proper meal and stayed still she was very active. I think laying down will help... Drink cold water.
Also there were a couple days where movement really slowed down I think she was sleeping more. If you get really worried call your doc, just to get checked and put your mind at ease.

I've had a similar experience after taking the one hour. Lots of painful activity during, and then almost no movement for a few days afterwards. I still feel LO occasionally but it isn't as frequent as it was before the test, and my Dr didn't say anything about it when I went on Thursday. I will say it has been slowly building back up and I'm very grateful for that. I'm assuming he doesn't respond to that much sugar any better than I do and I've felt like I'm in a horrible haze since that test. (Hormonal, lethargic, constantly hungry... I can't wait to see how bad it is after the three hour test )
LO kicked a lot just now, like he was excited. DH felt him and got kicked in the cheek. I'm so happy. I've been waiting for their bonding to start. I'm also glad LO is moving again.
Things have slowed down considerably in the last few days, and today I didn't feel her at all. Really glad to have an appointment tomorrow morning. I'm usually pretty good about not worrying, but she's such a wiggle worm most of the time that the slowdown has me concerned. C'mon, baby, throw yourself a little dance party tonight, please!
DH fell asleep with his head on my stomach and was awoken by a few well-placed kicks and punches. I can't figure out why he was surprised - he has a heavy head!
Soon as I lay on my side she kicks the part of my belly that's against the bed and ruins the comfey spot. So I roll to the other side and eventually she will roll and kick that side too. There's no escaping the crazy amount of karate this kid does. It's kinda creepy to see limbs swiping across my belly
I must have a deep placenta or something... I don't really feel kicks all the time, and you can barely feel them ever from the outside. Don't get me wrong, I know when it's happening, but I haven't been hurt or anything, or kept awake by it o.O
^ I actually asked my ob why I'm feeling and seeing so much and it's because my placenta is posterior and on the left side only.
My friend who is due 3 weeks before me has hardly seen any movement but has felt it a bit. Her placenta is anterior so I guess that has something to do with it.
My little dude moves like crazy and it hurts sometimes! I am scared how bad it will hurt later.
In my experience it gets better (!!) the last few months. They run out of space so they can't kick/jab as much as just rolling over. Still lots of movement but not nearly as violent

Do you know your placenta placement? I have an anterior placenta and I feel the kicks inside mostly although my belly is starting to visibly shake from the outside. Husband feels them from the outside but only when I'm lying down and he has to be really patient about it. I have yet to have a painful kick at all, they are mostly soft thuds.

/shrugs no idea. I didn't think so because I started feeling movement really early on (around 13 weeks if memory serves me correctly)
So my little girl kicks and rolls like *crazy*, normally. Like, when I do kick counting it only takes 2 minutes to get to 10 kicks, almost any time of day. But yesterday and most of today she moved a lot less than normal. Like, the only way I could get her to move was to poke her hard, or drink a sugary drink and lay down for 30 minutes, and even then she only moved a little. I've been really worried about her, and was considering calling L&D all day today. But thankfully she started moving like crazy again this evening. Way to give mommy a scare.
The past couple of days I started to think maybe I had a UTI starting.. Pinching Sudden pains, peeing and then peeing again little amounts.. And now I know it's the baby. Sometimes I swear he pinches me! It hurts like hell! I started out a somewhat small girl so to have him growing is really stretching my limits.. He jumps and it feels like he is tugging on my tummy! Ouch
I'm seriously confused right now. I'm 35w3d and I was told movement would decrease due to him getting bigger, but tonight's movement felt way different from before. He's gotten lower than he used to be and so I feel it when he twists. His hands like to push against my lower abdomen. Well tonight he was either really excited or really distressed because he moved a lot across my lower abdomen while also kicking my stomach. At first I thought the movement might have been Braxton Hicks because of how frequent it was until he kicked with it. Or perhaps it was him reacting to Braxton Hicks? I've never felt such a constant pressure of him pushing against me before.

I've had this for almost two weeks now. I notice it more when I over work myself and start getting BH. Once I rest and the BH go away I get that movement. Almost like he gets himself resituated.

This one likes to barrel roll, usually right into one of my hips. If I'm standing, she rolls so violently that I've had to take a knee from the combination of discomfort and surprise.

@jonesl12 the rolling around kind of gets me queasy too. Especially if I'm standing up/if it catches me by surprise.
