I'm done with the itchy tits. No amount of moisturizer helps, and the skin doesn't seem dry or angry, so it's the inside tit-parts that itch I'm sure. It blows.
Anyone have any good foundation recommendations? First time paranoid mom. I will be 12 weeks next Saturday and have been using physicians formula cc cream..not really doing it for me anymore..just trying to be careful with what I choose since another brand I had had salicylic acid in it
I made a proper dinner totally by myself tonight and feel ridiculously proud. *by proper I mean not a can of soup or sandwich, my husband did find it odd that apple slices were part of dinner (I really wanted an apple)
I get pregnancy updates through email from a couple of different sites and this morning, I read one where it mentioned "coasting into the 2nd trimester." With how I'm feeling these days, I started laughing like a crazy person. It doesn't even seem possible right now.
I've got a cold. So annoying... Stuffy nose, mouth breathing, watery eyes. I've already been drinking tons of water. I've taken an extra vitamin c along with my prenatal. I've taken hot showers to steam it out of me. What else can I do? I'm a teacher and this is my last week off before the second semester.
So I just got back from the doctors and got the results of my blood work back today. I'm having a boy! And the blood work came back low risk for everything, the heartrate did drop from 175 to 152-159 but they didn't seem worried. I'm super excited now
Now that break is over, I feel like I can start participating on the board again. My random is that I'm running low on make-up and am dreading going shopping for it. I'm completely make-up illiterate... I feel like I choose the right color in the store and then get home and it's too dark or too light. Also, what in the world is bb cream?! Do you put it on under foundation or use it as a foundation? I'm ridiculously over stressed about this, lol.

If I'm not mistaken, you can use bb cream for both reasons. I use bb cream when I need a little coverage but I don't want to look overdone. It's also helpful in the colder months because my skin dries out pretty quickly and the bb cream gives it some moisture.
@Brittnic531 my understanding that it is supposed to be a foundation + face toner in one. I know some people who use only that or combine it so it's up to you on what look you want to achieve.
Forgot my Chapstick today...and it's only 11am and my lips are dry and uncomfortable. Ugh. And my emergency Chapstick in my desk is also missing...I wonder where do all the missing Chapsticks go? About to start buying in bulk.
Got caught up on some of the posts through the holiday weekend.... I've realized I don't agree with most of you on anything. Lol. But I still find this place amusing. And I admit that I totally have my favorite posters....
@MotherOfDucks I am sure there are more people who feel the same way as you do but just don't say it. But hey! At least you don't get angry and then leave us for other sites!
@Brittnic531 I use BB cream and only BB cream. I'm under the impression it is an all-in-one. You rub it all over your face and it's the only skin stuff needed! Like coconut oil, but with color. I'm also make-up illiterate. BB cream, blush, eye stuff, mascara, tinted chap stick- ANNNND done! Full face of make-up yes? Maybe we should have a make-up tutorial thread... I know contouring and eyebrow stuff and additional tools and lip things exist. Anyone care to school us so we can all glow?

Hey, since I have been out of the loop for a week...
Do we have a thread in this BMB filled with free stuff that all of us can enjoy? If not, are there any objections before I start one? It would be nice to have a place where people can post deals, coupons, free stuff!
DH just called on his way home from work and said he's making dinner tonight. This literally never happens. Maybe once or twice a year tops. Someone's getting lucky tonight!
Has anyone else developed wedding ring dermatitis? I have a red rash under my ring, which I've since taken off. I'm trying to let my skin breathe. I've been married since 2008 and this has happened once or twice before. I can't remember if it was when I was pregnant or not. Next up: hydrocortisone cream!

@quartz02I haven't, but my mom has. Her doctor said that it can be caused by soap getting trapped under there when washing your hands, and other things like that. She didn't wear her ring to let the skin air out for a few days, and that seemed to help!
@quartz02 I developed this really early on... my Dr. said you can develop different allergies during pregnancy and every type of metal (my rings are white gold) contains traces of Nickle, and its most likely a nickle allergy. I have a steriod cream to apply on it that she's approved for very minimal use (never more than once a day and not more than 3 days in a row) I used to never take my rings off... now I take them off as soon as I get home, don't sleep, shower, or wash hands with them on etc. As @soberkfell shared, it gets worse when moisture is trapped under the ring for me too. I had read somewhere that coating the inside of the ring with clear nail polish could help but I wasn't willing to do that to my good jewelry so when it gets really bad I skip a day or so of wearing my rings, or only wear them for a few hours. Hope that helps!
@quartz02 I get it if I go too long without having my rings cleaned and redipped (white gold). I think it's happening more lately because my fingers have been swelling more. I usually take my rings off and wash and dry my hands really well, then wipe the rings down with peroxide. I put cortisone cream on my finger and leave the rings off for a day or two until it feels/looks better (continuing to clean and treat with cream as needed).

Or cuss people out for having a different opinion
I'm too busy eating all the Seattle Chocolates bars in my house before the end of the week when I start a Whole30 with my hubby to worry about making women on the Internet parent just like me. Because clearly there is only one way and it is mine, right?

This happened to me. I took my ring in to get it redipped. Worked perfectly. I've had my ring since 2008 also. No more problems anymore.
@quartz02 I get that all the time from getting soap caught under my rings. I have switched to foaming soap (obviously in my home I have no control over public restrooms), which really helps. It hasn't happened since the switch. In public I just make sure to really rinse out under my rings to make sure nothing is in there. Just an idea if dipping doesn't work.

YES! it is the strangest thing ever! It started to really itch and burn the other day, so I didn't wear my ring for a week. Still have the red rash, but it's more pale pink now. Feels a lot better, and i've been using lots of lotion and vaseline.

Picked up a planner, ordered a new vacuum, and actually cleaned my house a good bit today. Feeling extremely adult-y today lol.
Also tonight has been a great reminder why I said I was done after my second and third pregnancy. RLP, sciatica, achy varicose veins hit me hard as soon as I stop puking and get a touch of energy back. Man.

Once, a few years ago, some make up lady said I needed CC cream. No one had said that since.
I am really confused and overwhelmed by the amount of stuff people but on their skin. Especially when contouring.
