You can tell the vacation is over. More new posts today than usual. Lately it's been the same 10-20 ladies on the regular threads and today 5+ individual threads about random things. Not a complaint, just an observation.
@MotherOfDucks I am impressed you are doing a whole30! How far along are you? I am toying with the idea but I am nervous because of food aversions and cravings. Good for you for going for it!
Random happy times- O'doul's non alcoholic beer tastes just like the real thing! Very impressed and will be drinking these at beer events from now on! Yayyyyyy thought I'd hate fake or virgin drinks, but they still have the feeling of kicking back even without the booze
@noelietrex I like O'doul's too My dad suggested them when I was pregnant with DD. He used to have these in the summer when he was on call (he's a GP) but really wanted a cold beer on the porch. My first trimester with DD was in the summer, and I really wanted a cold beer or shandy (beer and Sprite) while camping. Plus it helped settle my stomach.

Girl, I was dying in bfe with no connection to "civilization". It's good to be back.
Question...I know when I was on a board with my first pregnancy we did a mental health check in for those with depression, anxiety, etc. Is anyone interested in something like that?

There used to be one that's a good idea to bring back.
@elenabrent lots of support on the board and snark
@TattoosandLace I know the feel, to an extent. We spent a couple days in north east Nebraska. No wifi and our phones didn't work. We spent a lot of time playing cards with the grandparents.
Ya'll are crazy for wanting makeup tutorials! I can barely adult enough to brush my hair most days (and some days I can't even do that). I stopped wearing makeup years ago, and have zero intention of going back to wearing it on the daily. Freedom!!
Here is how my morning is going. I forgot I had a dr appt in ri today, we're back in ct, and since we only have one car currently due to hubs' motor exploding I had to get up early to go to work with him so I could take the car to ri. Whatever. So I'm ridiculously early for my appt so I figured I would stop at Bru to browse. Got here at 8, don't open until 10. In the mean time I had to pee ridiculously bad so I found a stop n shop in the same plaza and while I'm pulling up my beautiful maternity jeans I feel a weird bulge around my thigh so I reach in and pull out a pair of underwear. Guys I put my pants on this morning with an extra pair of underwear stuck in the leg and didn't even notice. So now I'm sitting in the stop n shop parking lot freezing my ass off (negative Temps with wind chill brrr) and a pair of underwear in my pocket trying to figure out what the hell to do with myself. -_-

I've managed to give myself an aversion to avocado... which is really going to cripple me. Guacamole was my go-to healthy fat. But eh. Other than that, I'm mostly craving fruits and veggies so hopefully it'll just play in. I love nothing more than roasted broccoli. I'd eat it for breakfast. I'll be 11 weeks on Thursday. And I've been way unhealthy over the holidays so I kind of owe the fetus some healthy foods anyway. Haha
Question STM's: Anyone have any recommendations for good supportive baby carriers. I have a moby and liked it when DS was a newborn but it was not very good for us once he got past a few months old. I specifically need something that is good for those on the shorter side. I'm only 4'11" and have heard certain carriers (the ergo for example) are not very good for shorties like me . Anyone have any ideas?
@Singingmama10 have you tried the Tula? It has a toddler size and I absolutely love mine! It holds the child on your hips and not on your shoulders, it is better than the other 15 carriers I have tried.

@Singingmama10 have you tried a Bijorn? I am taller than the average bear so I can't speak to the short aspect, but I was so happy with mine when I used it for the first year.
@quartz02 - I started developing this under my watch that I wear at work. I decided to stop wearing it on my wrist so obviously that has helped. Definitely seems related to water getting underneath.

Went into HR today to ask about maternity leave and am super excited to find out that I can take the first 12 weeks off of the school year PAID!!! Woohoo!!!! I have been super worried that I was going to be screwed and not be able to take any paid time since I am slated to give birth 6 weeks before school starts. Huge sigh of relief!!!!
@born2run911 I haven't tried a Bijorn, but I'm definitely open to suggestions. I know there are a few stores that actually let you try them on. @Taymiller and @Puddles03 I have heard of the Tula... and someone else suggested that to me. I think I'm definitely going to have to try one on for size and see if it would work.
Is anyone else having a super hard time with work and pregnancy symptoms? These constant headaches and the ms are making it so hard to push through. I wish I could just sit at my desk and do computer work but 90%of job is client sessions and meetings where I have to be on and happy and peppy and engaged and that is the opposite and sorry I just need to whine I didn't get off work until 7:30(11 hour work day) got to the gym at 8 and home by 9:00 and just don't want to eat just want to die/sleep and wishing I had caffeine and or wine
Super random... Either my app is playing tricks on me or a bumpie stole my announcement photo and is using it as their profile picture also. Am I crazy? Has anyone else had this happen with the app? I'm so confused.
@Singingmama10 I absolutely adore my Lillébaby Complete Carrier. I chose based heavily on lumbar support, and it has been a wonderful carrier for me with DS. You don't need an infant insert, and you can wear it on your front, side, and back, forward facing and rear facing. I am 5'2", and have loved it.

I think it is a glitch, it happened to my friend the other day too
Last time I was pregnant, I was two sizes bigger than I am now. I forgot about that and I tried to put on my maternity dress pants. They fell off of me. I want to cry because I have to buy new ones. Waaaah.
@Lindsayleigh1989 i completely get what you are saying. I had two late sessions Monday night and all I wanted to do was go home to bed. I feel like I was going to throw up and have my head explode at the same time. I literally texted my husband and told him I knew I was going to be a bad therapist that night. The sessions turned out productive (due to the clients, not me), but I struggled through most of it.
To all the ladies recommending the Tula @Taymiller and @Puddles03 - is it better than the Ergo for us shorties (I'm only 5')? I had a really hard time with the Ergo last time and it was huge on me.
Yesterday I felt like crap with a runny nose but after a day of being under covers, drinking hot water, and having a space heater blowing at my face I feel much better.
I had a Dr. apt last night. I got there and peed in the cup they gave me. Then while meeting with the Dr. she said that they gave me the wrong cup and that I would have to pee again in a different cup. I started to get nervous at that point but I had my hour glucose test so I had plenty of time to store up to pee again. Then as I am walking out they hand me a third cup and say they dropped the second. Ok so part of me feels awful for who ever dropped it because I am sure they did not get away splatter free, and I would hate to have someone else's pee on me. But at the same time I was like I realize I'm pregnant but I am not actually a pee factory!!!

I have the ergo to and I like the Tula because I feel like it is more adjustable. One of my bestows is also just 5' and she has never mentioned it being an issue. The toddler Tula is a bit bigger so I would stick to the baby one but the baby one goes up to 45 lbs so you can totally carry a toddler in it.
If we're recommending baby carriers... I love the ergo. I had one for all three of my kids and it was awesome. Unfortunately I managed to tear it in storage somehow (unlike during 6 years of use) and will need to replace it. I will need new maternity clothes too... I had all winter babies.
I'm sick today. My husband has been a huge grump having been sick. He told me last night (after I used all the bones to make multiple bowls of soup, then made him a few cups of tea... plus dinner for everyone... all of which he hated because apparently be just wanted taquitos?) that he thought it might be strep. And of course I woke up this morning just miserable. But I can't make soup. And I'll still have to clean house and take care of the kid. Motherhood is rough.
