  • I have a headache from hell. I am supposed to be writing a 10 page essay on diabetes. It is due at midnight.
I think I will be late.

    That sounds like absolute hell!

  • @simplymizzj yes to the panty liners let me know if you find anything that helps you!

@Lindsayleigh1989 Will do! Likewise...! Have you tried kegals? I haven't done it but maybe I should start...

@Nerdchild No worries! Just glad to know I'm not the only one - and club piddlepants...I like it!

@PugsandKisses Having to write a 10 page paper in a few hours sounds so stressful - I cringe for you!

@simplymizzj I'm sorry to laugh, but I just posted last night about a gag session making me pee my pants, so I promise I'm laughing in solidarity and commiseration. Welcome to club piddlepants.

Yup I pee when I sneeze and gag. It is awesome. If I feel the sneeze coming on I can clench and then I don't.
  • Another random (because this is the place), anyone else feel like they are drooling like a basset hound lately?! Where is all of this saliva coming from?

Hmmm...clenching...will have to try that next time! Lol.

No drool for me - just the opposite - dry mouth, I think due to the cold dry weather. I find myself constantly drinking a lot of water at night and then having to get up to pee all the time. Bleh.
  • I drool and pee myself. Is there a club for that? Maybe like club of excessive fluids exiting your body wherever they can?

Also I'm seriously thinking about investing in a squatty potty. These pooping issues are no joke.

Ah I have been thinking this same thing for months! Just so you know, one day I got adventurous and used a stool my brother had in his bathroom. It worked like a charm!
  • @msuzannah seriously worth the investment. They're so great, especially now that I'm... having difficulties.

  • I've just texted my husband about it and he thought it was funny until I went caps lock on him and told him "hemorrhoids are no f***ing joke". I think I made my point :) I will be using your testimonies to plead my case when he gets home!
  • @msuzannah Won't get too graphic, but seriously get one! Potty time is ridiculously nicer...
  • GUYS. DD had a check up today for weight and height and we gained weight and inches! So glad. The dr isn't worried about her weight. She's a really active child so she burns a lot but MIL has made me really self-conscious/critical about her weight. Happy dance.
@TattoosandLace that's awesome! DD was a big baby and bigger than all her peers up until 6 months, then they all surpassed her and her growth slowed way down. She gained less than 1lb from 6 months to 15 months, although she was growing on a slightly slowed but normal trajectory for height and head circumference. She also looked healthy, was eating fine, and was always happy, but her weight percentile plummeted. I was pretty concerned but my doctor contacted a pediatrician who wasn't overly concerned, with all things considered. He said if she hadn't gained any weight by 18 months we would do further tests at that point. I was SO excited at her 18 month appointment to find out she'd gained weight, so I know the feeling! Woohoo for weight gain!
  • I went to get a refill of my Diclectin today, opted for just 2 weeks worth being hopeful that morning sickness will end soon. Last time I got 2 weeks worth and it cost me $27 (I live in Canada and DH also has extra coverage through his work)

Today's bill? $100.07!!!!!! For two weeks. I forgot it's January and our deductible resets. Normally the only prescription med I take is birth control, so the deductible usually doesn't hit me quite as hard, but apparently this med is pricey. The pharmacist said he thinks I've reached my deductible now but I'll need to get DH to double check so I can prepare myself if I need another refill. I was so annoyed but I'm trying to reminded myself to be grateful that this is probably the only pregnancy related medical bill I'll get, as I know some of our American ladies on here will be getting a lot more/bigger bills than that through the course of their pregnancies. Damn I feel for you all.
  • @DobbysSock 100 dollars for only two weeks work?! Holy moly that's rediculous!

  • @DobbysSock $100? Sheesh....I can't get anything for that price around here. Even my dog has insurance and he had to be on a steroid for two weeks, and it was over $100!

My friend in Germany and I were pregnant at the same time during my last pregnancy. She had a vaginal ultrasound and then a abdominal ultrasound two weeks later. Her cost.....nothing. I had a vaginal ultrasound and the machine batteries died, so I was sent for a abdominal ultrasound a week later to finish up their measurements (this was in 2011). With my "good" insurance plan, I still forked over $500+ for the vaginal, and over $600 for the abdominal, and then two $25 copays, and a $585 premium....in a two weeks span. She about died when I told her!

The dr keeps saying she's a perfect little girl, proportionate, and VERY active. Thinking she got DH's metabolism. Our dr's nurse graduated HS with DH and she keeps reminding me that he is tall and lanky and didn't "fill out" until college. Dr literally said that MIL can shove it. I'm just so glad she's gaining. She follows a curve, but it's a low percentile one. I mean, maybe I just make small babies! There's nothing wrong with that. She's healthy!
I'm glad your little one started gaining when she needed to! Always makes a momma feel good!

I never got a reply for my appeal either. I'm told if you only have the one warning that it will drop off in six months and reset. Hopefully yours gets repealed. Would hate to lose you!

  • I know cramps are normal, but at what point do you become concerned? I woke up last night in really bad pain. I had cramps and back aches. I was laying in the fetal position almost in tears. There is no blood and I know it's not tummy issues because those cramps feel different. I messaged my doc but it sucks cuz I can't feel baby and don't have a Doppler. I'm irrationally worried.
  • @juliagulia38 - I would call for sure.
  • I woke up at 5:30 and Murphy (my 18 mo old) is still sleeping and it is now 8:30. Wtf! Why can't I sleep too!

@PhoebeJune1984 I'll shut up now, haha. I also get free ultrasounds and all other tests my doctor decides to order. Good reminder to quit my bitching and be grateful for the majority of my pregnancy medical appointments being free!

I got a message back. They said increase my fluid intake and take some Tylenol. If it doesn't get better or I start spotting to call. I've always had severe cramps while on my period, and this was worse. :( hopefully it goes away soon.
  • @juliagulia38 I always start getting BH really early. Drink tons of water. Take a magnesium supplement. Epsom salt baths. Hopefully that will calm your uterus.

Thanks! I get BH early too. I just wasn't expecting the cramps and back pain to be this painful. This is my third, and I've never had them be this painful before. I just took some Tylenol and in going to lay down and see if they go away.
  • @ButterMyBiscuit and for anyone else that is interested. Sorry this took so long!! this is the article with the exercises that should help with strengthening your core after the baby is born:

  • Last night I had a dream about the Sunday brunch at a restaurant in town. Or specifically, all the seafood. Now even though I'm too sick to want to do anything... I really want to go get crab legs...
  • My OB told me that my IBS would be amplified by pregnancy and she really wasn't kidding. I am in a world of stomach pain at the moment and am getting really tired of being in the bathroom. I should be thankful since I hadn't gone in days, but this is way more painful than the constipation!!!
  • @ButterMyBiscuit I never got a reply for my appeal either. I wish I could write an appeal for you because that is dumb they did anything about that crazy lady!
  • BioTeach84 look into the Low FODMAP diet. It's the only medically approved diet to help sufferers of IBS. It's extremely limiting, but worth it to not be in pain.
  • @juliagulia38 I remember getting like severely debilitating cramps last pregnancy that felt like menstral cramps. This happened to me on a couple occasions, usually lasting a couple hours. I remember curling up into the fetal position and trying warm baths. At one point I had an ultrasound convinced I was having a miscarriage. Apparently all was okay and it sounds quite similar so FX for you.
