  • So I don't have much confidence in the girl I'm training to replace me. I'm going to bring this up with the family this evening. She doesn't seem like she's capable of retaining information from one day to the next. She can't measure a damn bottle like how simple is that the numbers are right there for you. She doesn't read any of the directions we give her. This is a very special needs child you can't just go giving him whatever in his food. She says she ha g tube experience and even though it's been a year since she's done it she acts like she's never done it before. Ugh ugh ugh it's stressing me out

So I just ugly cried at preschool drop off for my son. For some reason one of the little girls in his class waited until he sat down in front of everyone to call him a "baby" really loudly. Which was awful. He cried. I cried. I probably would have been able to keep it together except for the hormones. I think it's because he has a special rubber seat to sit on in circle time because he wiggles around a lot and it helps keep him calm and his hands to himself. Anyway, not the best drop off ever. Now I'm worried that he's being bullied all the time. Why are kids so mean?

Also, two of my chickens got into a fight this morning and one ended up with half her comb ripped off. Going to have to miss karate tonight to get her some meds.

This day is going to get better, right?!

ET: Sorry, I feel like all I'm doing is complaining all the time...I swear I'm usually a happy person!

  • Why does the meanness start so early?  I'm sorry.  It's hard to see our kids hurting.  And your chickens???  Owie!  I'd be threatening the instigator with a butcher's knife - that'll teach her!

  • @cmerribury I'm sorry! Poor little guy. And sorry about the chickens too but honestly every time you mention them I giggle a little. My friend has chickens and my little dachshund would chase them until she passed out.
  • I don't understand why the kids get mean so young :( {{hugs}} @cmerribury that would have made me ugly cry too, even without hormones. I'm sorry! <3

  • Anyone do Amazon subscribe and save? I am already and prime member and have been trying to compare things on it to walmart/Heb (the two shopping choices where I live) to see if they are a good deal or if it's more expensive. So far I found razor blades, paper towels, tp, overnight pullups, diapers, wipes, and shampoo to be a good deal. I am trying to make life easier when the baby comes and I it would be nice to just basically shop for food and not have to load the cart down with all the huge bulky items. If you use it do you like it and what all do you subscribe to?

I am super excited because my rocker is being delivered today finally after ordering it at the end of September!

SparkE82- That's exciting. We still haven't made a lot of progress on a name. Boy names are hard!!

  • Yeah, I am having twins, which explains why I am so big already. But I honestly didn't realize I would get so big so fast. I'm already miserable in a way I didn't expect till much closer to the end.
Thank you for the love everyone :)
@SarahFoley725 I actually don't care for most alcohol, wine included, guess that is a UO. And the more kids you have, the greater your chance of getting pregnant with multiples. Don't worry if they run on the man's side of the family, that won't affect you any, but if they run on your side, then for your sake, I hope you have happy, healthy, Singletons.

I keep hearing that about the more kids you have the greater chance for multiplies but I'm guessing (like most things) there's an exception to that rule. Twins also run on both sides (maternal and paternal) of my family.

  • @red3ye they're on my side! My dads mom is a twin. I've read that the reason they say it "skips" generations is because it's a gene for over ovulation which guys can't do obviously. I don't know how true or untrue that is, but when I read about it I was like oh man maybe that's why I skip periods maybe when I do ovulate I have extra eggs or something oh man oh no but just one baby this time.
  • I've been feeling the same way this week, @skruhmin. I tried to take another belly pic today because I feel like I've started to take on that "torpedo effect" already. (The pic didn't turn out.) Not sure if baby moved positions or if he's having a growth spurt. Either way, I'm uncomfortable and scared of how much worse it's going to get.

@cmerribury - So sorry about your son and your chickens. I'm with you on the feeling like a downer all the time. I realized today that I spend most of my days recently trying not to cry about stupid things. And counting down the minutes until I can sleep again . . .

Ah the torpedo effect.  Never get that - my belly just gets larger beach ball status.  I keep looking at all the HDBD pics with the skinny FTMs at the same stage I am and think - holy crap why are you so tiny?!?  Right now just counting down the time until bedtime.  So thankful for my Unisom still since I'm able to sleep - I'm dreading the day it doesn't work anymore.

I never get the "torpedo" effect either. I'm so glad I'm not the only one that was thinking that! Lol. Honestly I gained more (WAY more 60+ lbs) with my first than any of my others.

  • @Parker16772

I use subscribe on Amazon for a couple of things, but only if it is substantially cheaper than buying in a store or the items are difficult to find locally. More often I buy them on the subscribe option with 6 month delivery then cancel the subscription after I get the first delivery.

This just popped up in my FB feed.  There is a reason my midwives and birth class all recommended 2 weeks in bed for post partum care.  Just rest.  Just heal.  Just bond.  Don't worry about anything else (if you can possibly get by with it).

This is such great advice. I plan on 2 weeks MINIMUM. Last time labor was much easier than with my first, so I went home 8 hours after she was born. And even though I had plenty of help, I took on too much myself and paid for it. I think it's because I had a fairly easy time--I didn't even tear with either labor--so it's easy to forget that birth is still a traumatic experience for your body to go through, and you have a fairly massive open wound inside you where the placenta detaches from the uterus. That takes WEEKS to heal. So this time I'm really putting self - care at the absolute top of my list.
Although I will say by about 1 1/2 weeks I was going stir crazy being pent up in the house.  But the snuggle time was wonderful.  Recovery for DS2 was so much easier than DS1.

  • I love how she says that when she gets stir crazy she moves out to the couch. Party Time! Lol.

I get stir crazy too, which is probably why I was up and at em earlier than I should have been last time. But I'm going to force myself to deal with it and stay put. Life will be back to its usual frenzied pace early enough.

Just imagine how recovery time would be handled if our large, bleeding, open wound were external rather than hidden away deep inside of us. I think that lack of visual reminder that we're really recovering from something big leads us to push ourselves more, and others to expect more from us sooner than they otherwise would.

I think the only way you would be able to keep me in bed for even two days would be to cut off both my legs and not give me a wheelchair. I got way too much going on, way too many humans that depend on me and just straight up no time for none of that ridiculousness! ;)
