  • So I had a thought today. Idk when y'all found out you were pregnant but I caught it at like 3.5 weeks.

Anyway 4 weeks when I got confirmed and we did the sex scan at 16 weeks. So by the end of the year I'll have less time to wait for baby to be here than I had to wait to find out what we were having. It's equally terrifying and exciting to think about
  • @kynbar5 I just can't deal with how cute your boys are. Seriously.:love::love:

Damn I missed a lot! I don't always comment on the stupid stuff but those bed rest ladies piss me off! I'm praying so hard that i don't get put on bed rest- which as long as my cervix stays closed I can avoid. I don't want another preterm baby but I also don't want bed rest- I can't AFFORD bed rest. I do love being pregnant but it's not rainbows and unicorns for me every day. I suck it up and work.

I can totally understand the ones who medically NEED it, but the whiney mom's are in for a rude awakening when their baby comes out.

I'm just kinda like....I won't be able to do my job for much longer and I don't have maternity leave or the option to come back to it so I just had to put my notice in for an earlier date then I originally would have liked. I can't even fathom people who ask the doctors to lie so they can basically get paid disability since their employers won't be able to fire them. I seriously cannot fathom that mindset
And another part of my panic is if i have to have a c-section because i would be out 6 weeks short term disability caps out at $170 a week - not even half my paycheck! Now imagine trying to live off that for bed rest too - I would lose everything.

Unfortunately there are also doctors who don't care and will do it to screw the system. i encountered one and will never see that man again. Long story short about 10 years ago i needed a physical for dss to prove i was fit to work. The doctor mentioned im big on top and asked me if my boobs cause back ache (duh of course they do) but then he asked me if my back ache keeps me from working and i said no, he asked me 2more time if i was sure i could work, hinting at he could put me on diability if i wanted it. Since when was big boobs a disability!?

I also don't like the fact that pregnancy in this country is viewed as a temporary disability rather than maternity like most other countries. that's where all this "put me on bed rest" comes from. If the country forced paid maternity leave there wouldn't be a need to go to such great lengths to claim disability to get out of work.

I am pregnant, not HANDICAPPED. I have to tell people that EVERY DAY.

Ok guys, things are getting a little nutty over here for me.  Had a super tiresome day at work (tons more walking than normal, so lots of BH and discomfort).  I was squatting and petting the dog and got a sharp pain just about 10 minutes ago, and now I'm sitting on my sofa breathing through what I can only describe as labor pains.  Either that, or I'm about to have an intense stomach upset.  Freaking out over it.  I probably wouldn't worry this much (my stomach gets upset if someone in the next room sneezes) except that I can feel the muscles clenching along with each spike of pain that lasts for about 30 seconds and I'm having to breathe through them, and it's wrapping around to my back and tightening there.

Am I being stupid?  I feel stupid even typing that but lordy these have me slightly scared.  LO is kicking up a storm, though.  He seems to be protesting the whole thing.

I'm still nursing (dry nursing) my toddler, and of course my OB warned me about that at my appt on Wednesday, so now I'm paranoid.

ETA:  And things seem to be quiet again suddenly aside from some stabby back pain and lower abdominal tightening.

@smushi Only because I'm a weird Internet stranger that actually cares about quite a few of my bmb ladies ;) I'll just ask. Is there any way you can go to L&D just to be checked out? This is a better safe than sorry thing for me and honestly, if I were in your shoes I'd be nervous and at least calling to find out if I should come in.

Thanks @kynbar5 That was my only real option if they didn't stop soon (which they have for now).  But I'm still concerned at the strength of them.  With previous OB office/hospital we had a great on-call nurse option and easy access to L&D triage.  With my new hospital, there is no after hours on-call nurse, and the only L&D triage is through the world's slowest ER, which I have absolutely no intention of ever visiting because we've been there so often and wasted so much time there.  I'd be there all night long just waiting for a dr to see me.  So I'm on the fence at the moment and hoping they stay away for good.

Ugh :( well that's not good. However I am glad that they've stopped and I hope they stay away too! My thoughts and prayers will be with you tonight and I hope that you relax as much as physically possible and everything turns out just fine!

    I'm pregnant, not HANDICAPPED!!
He said it almost like I should be the one in the chair instead of him.
