  • @SarahFoley725 I think of you're comfortable doing something for NYE go for it! Just be careful and safe! :) Also, yes, the weather is crazy. It's suppose to be mid 70's here today also and I'm just like, umm it's almost Christmas. I know I live in the south but last year we had our first round of snow before Thanksgiving even got here so can I at least turn my heat on?! Lol

  • @srahfoley725i tend to be a homebody, but it sounds like you may regret not getting out. if you feel up to it then have a blast! even if you just get dressed up and go out to dinner, maybe you will feel like you did *SOMEthing* :)
it is 66F here right now and supposed to be around 71F later. the low was 52F. but then last week (and earlier this week), it was right around freezing and below for the lows! i just want the weather to make up it's mind. it is frustrating sending the kid to school in a shirt and sweatshirt and coat, and then him getting off the bus later in the day sweating, asking for shorts, and having forgotten his coat (which he will need again in the morn for another wild weather swing). he doesn't really understand that he can remove layers on his own, and if he did, i am sure i would never see half his wardrobe again, or he would get in trouble for stripping at an inappropriate time and location at school LOL

Totally the cranky mom this morning.  Snapped at my 4-year old about everything.  And then we got in the car and he started practicing the Christmas songs he's going up on stage to sing with his class at church on Sunday and totally brought things into perspective - his voice is so sweet and so innocent.  I love love love my kids unconditionally - please do not get me wrong.  I'm feeling like this right now.

I think last night was the first time I've ever heard Dominic the Donkey.  I was in the car with my boys and we stopped at a house that took over your radio and the lights played to the music.  That song came on and we all cracked up.  Now officially our new favorite Christmas song.

  • @skruhmin I'm sorry, I've had a lot of mornings like that lately. I'm always amazed at how quickly they can bounce back from an argument. I always worry about what feeling he has when he thinks of me...happy, supportive, loving...or angry, short-tempered, grumpy. I hope it's the former. My son is currently obsessed with the dreidel song.

  • @oceanchild I actually just do it out of habit here because I wanted to be up front about when I changed things. Also, I don't know how quickly people see things, and I always feel like maybe they'll see my original post, then see the updated one later and be confused or think I'm trying to pull one over on them. Anyway, I don't do it on FB because there I'm usually fixing a spelling or grammatical error. Here I'm usually adding an entirely new thought.

  • Happy Friday ladies! Enjoy all that warm weather, I've got 3 inches of snow on the ground, so I'm a happy camper (: only slept for 6 hours so that's a bummer but woohoo Friday and woohoo for hitting 26 weeks!

@SarahFoley725 you go girl! 30 weeks and still wanting to get out of the house late at night? You're a rock star! I can hardly stay awake past 10 d:
  • @2goofykids haha I just don't want to miss the last festive event as just the two of us. My birthday is January 24th and then there's Valentines but I anticipate being a lump of blah at that point
  • @ocenachild- I ended up signing up for subscribe and save for paper towels, toliet paper, diapers, wipes, overnight pullups, razor blades and aveno bath stuff and lotion for DS1 and the baby. I figured if I can have all that delivered for the same price or less than why not? Diapers and wipes were a really good deal.

@Sarahfoley725- I am close to Austin at it's in the 70's here today! What the crap happened to winter! So ready for it to be cold again. I have almost no warm weather maternity close. All I have bought it sweaters and long sleeve shirts! Sorry you have to train someone else. I would have left the check on the door too to avoid an awkward situation. I had to fire our cleaning lady here at our office a few months ago and it was super awkward. I was glad I was gone to lunch when she came to pick up her stuff and leave her key! She was supposed to come at night and would come super late and then leave the alarm off. The last straw was when she came at 2:00 am (I went back and reviewed our cameras) and then left the front door unlocked and the alarm off. Seriously!?

@charley15- I am really trying to enjoy this pregnancy too since I am not sure if its our last baby or not. I am so ready for him to be here (In march of course) so I am kind of glad it is going by fast but at the same time I want to cherish each moment!

  • @Parker16772 I don't mind training someone new. My LO has lots of special needs so I want the perfect person from him. I wanted to avoid the awk situation because I'm the only one who has been around this girl SO the recommendation that she may not be the right fit came from me and she has to know that. Oh well

Austin isn't far lets baby party
  • @JessKo08 and @kitteh81 I am Norwegian and living in Norway and have never eaten lutefisk(!), on the other hand give me all the lefse!

Good grief. We've got a new "ask my doctor to put me on bedrest" woman in the 2nd tri board.
But she only wants answers, not a discussion lmao. Yea, good luck with that!

20 weeks boy is she going to have a tough time.
  • @Synnovus believe me you are not missing anything. I think lutefisk is more of a Norwegian tradition stateside, especially with the older Scandinavian Lutherans in Minnesota. I know my great-grandparents enjoy it. I think I heard some where that more lutefisk is consumed in the US than Norway or Sweeden. It's honestly gross, gelatinous, rotten fish that stinks up the whole house. But on the plus side our lefse turned out great this morning. Yum!

My thoughts exactly! I was like seriously? Most women go about their everyday life up until they go into labor and she's only halfway through. Whew. Gonna be a looooong ride.

I just don't get the thought process. I'm in pain but my doctor isn't worried so how can I ask them to essentially lie which goes against their code of ethics SO I can dupe my employer into paying me for not working?
  • She's essentially asking to be put on bedrest half way through her pregnancy because of round ligament pain?! Oh Geeze.

But it hurts really, really bad (In my 3 year old voice)! Random thought, what is she going to think when the real life laboring contractions hit?! Yikes!

  • DS1's pregnancy I went through almost disabling RLP - like enough to go to L&D.  I was scared to death they'd put me on bedrest.  I had no idea what RLP was.  Then they told me about it and it was a normal thing.  And you know what - the debilitating RLP went away after a few weeks and I survived.  And definitely nothing like labor.

  • I'm all for taking it easy when in pain (and RLP can be pretty bad) but asking a medical professional to lie about your condition is ridiculous. Unless you work in an environment that requires you to lift heavy objects all day long, asking for special dispensation is so entitled first world brat.

Yes! Having been on bed rest and hospital bed rest with DS1 (luckilyonly for a little over 3 weeks) I would never want to jinx myself and hope for bed rest. It's an insult to all of the women who have to be on it for months! I really feel for women who have to do it there whole pregnancy.

  • I just can't even with that one. Seriously? Apparently like flowerpower said she is the only woman that has ever been in pain during pregnancy and no one could possibly understand..right.

  • I can't believe she threw a fit like that. She's not even 34 weeks
  • There are certain times that I wish people would use the report function a little less frequently. That was a very swift thread shut down.

  • I must be immune from my little guy at work. His diet is entirely liquid and he loves to help by sticking his hand in his diaper AND rolling through it. No kid could ever be as gross as him
