Our son is Charles Alexander and we call him Charlie. He was named for my Granddad and I didn't even look to see how popular the name was.
So far for our girl we have Olivia Faye. Still not sure how I feel about a super popular name but it's the only one we've agreed on and grinned like idiots about.
We have known our girl's name for a while, Killian, because my name is Kelli with middle name Ann. The boys name was hard though. We finally agreed on Eivin! My family hates it but it is hard to find a boys name that we both like and that isn't too popular!
Does that boys name sound like Ivan? Wouldn't it be easier (especially for the kid not having to correct people all the time) to use that spelling instead?
I've been throwing around boy names in my head for weeks, but we just found out we're having a girl and I can't think of girl names at all, much less ones we would agree on. Hubby is stuck on Mildred, because he had a grandma Millie - her real name was Camille- so no I'm not sticking a child with the name Mildred right now.

Camille is beautiful! And Millie is a super cute nickname. Why doesn't he want to use that straight up? Mildred, no thanks.
Anyone have any thoughts on Amelia Ann vs. Penny Lee? They are names we like + family names, just not sure which we like best.
I like the flow of Amelia Ann better. Penny Lee makes me think of penny lane but that's not a bad thing. I don't care for them both having a long e sound on the end though.
I love that so many people are considering Knox. I have a brother named Knox who is 21, my parents thought they were being really original at the time. Now it seems since Brad and Angelina used it it's hit the big time! Great name :-)
@wisco29 that is the most awesome baby-name book ever. I had no idea they'd upgraded the genre to comedy!
Haha there are a bunch of sections, I'll see if h will send me a pic of the cover of the book from the living room. I'm in bed and that's super far away! I-)
My friend did that. I'd always said I wanted Kiera and she called her daughter that. It's bugged me but luckily that was 12 years ago and now I no longer like it!
After months of not agreeing on anything we finally have some top picks.. Who knows if they'll stick till February though. Athena Katherine for a girl Jasper Brian for a boy My parents are deceased so we agreed a while ago to use their names for middle names.
@bigred226 I love Imogen for a girl, but I put it on a list to show my husband and he was unfamiliar with it and thought it was pronounced like "emoji" so that crossed it off the list for me
I'm sure people won't believe me as the pregnancy continues, but I really feel like this baby won't have a name until he/she is born. They will get frustrated at not knowing our name choices. They seem to think we already have names set, but we are totally clueless.
Nothing wrong with this at all. I have know many people who can't make a decision until they meet their LO. Good luck!
I'm normally all for sharing, but holy cow! People are driving me nuts with suggestions. They ask if we have ideas and I'm honest, saying we're still thinking and struggling a little and they flood me with horrible names and act all offended if I say I'm not feeling it. Just stop already!
With DD I just told everyone I was naming her Bradgelina(sp?) because I was tired of my MIL suggesting names and trying to guess the names we had chosen. @camusoh2011 we had 2 names going into the delivery room and I chose when I first held my little girl. But no one believed me
Hubby and I are having a hard time coming up with a boy name! Our LO is a girl, so we are really hoping for a boy, so we've just started working on boy names. We like Blake, but can't seem to find a good middle name. I like John Luke but he doesn't. We both like Jackson Blake too, but not sure. For a girl, I like Jade and he likes Bella. A couple days ago he said we should just wait till we find out gender before we work on it anymore. Kinda dissapointed that he doesn't even want to think about names.
@baya5 I was just asking DH last night if he had thought of any other names. He flat out said "if you keep asking me I'm not going to give you any until the delivery room". He said it with a big grin on his face, but I seriously just feel like that is where this is going this time.
I'm impressed that so many people have their names picked out already! I have a super long list going and we've read it together one time but otherwise I have no idea. I'm afraid of getting my names scooped by any friends that are due before me so I don't want to commit!
ETA: not scooped as in they would steal them because we aren't going to share, but just scooped through coincidence. Our friends already picked my husband's top girl name so it feels like it could happen!
My husband's name is Brian and my son's names are Ashton and Chase. We would love to go a little further down the albhabelt this time..lol...we have decided a girls name of Paisley Grace but I have changed my mind on the boys name. We wanted Hudson but as a school teacher the school year just started and I have a child on my class named Hudson and after all his bad behavior this year and repeating his name over and over I have decided its a no go...I am lost on a boy name and so is the hubby...yikes
We haven't really picked out any names yet, but we will have time as I'm only 13w (tomorrow). Currently I'm liking Lauren Alexis, Eleanor or Nora for a girl and Elijah (Eli for short) for a boy. I also like Caden and Colton as well. Currently no matter what if we have a boy their middle name will be Matthew (hubby's first name). We are team green for the time being so we will have time for discussion. Right he doesn't mind my boys names, but we can't seem to agree on a girls name.
Nothing finalized but I feel like we are closer! We are team green so I don't feel a rush to pick names just yet (like with DD) but for a boy, DH got on board with Caleb! (Yippie) For a girl, my short list is Sadie, Vada, Lucy/Lucie, or Lydia! What I learned with naming DD is that you can have your list, but if you and SO don't agree... The end name could be something you never even considered... But both happily agreed on!
Married: 2012 --- BFP: 2013 - Little Miss arrived: 2014 --- BFP #2: 2015 - EDD: 2/2016 (Team Green)
We decided on Audrey Rose right after we found out but we could not agree on a boys name and decided to just wait till the 20 week ultrasound when we find out the gender before spending too much time thinking about it.
For a boy I like Sebastian and for a girl I like Violet. If is a girl i get to pick the name but if is a boy I have to agree on one with my husband and he likes his name -_- it's a Hispanic thing to name your first boy or one of your boys after your name. I don't like it so much lol Does anyone else have that tradition in their family?
The name my SO and I picked out for a girl is Sarai Dawn Amor Moreno. Sarai is biblical and means "my princess" in Hebrew. I had originally liked Saphire (I know it's usually spelt with two p's but I really like it with one sorry..) but I also wanted a biblical name and Sapphira in the bible wasn't a very pleasant women so my SO found Sarai and we both loved it. Amor we both just really like cuz it means love in Spanish (simple). Dawn didn't start out with meaning. I was looking at girl names for another girl before one of my twins didn't make it and I wanted Dawn to be baby B's middle name, which just so happens to also be SO mom's middle name (I had no idea). But when baby B passed away we added it onto Sarai's so we still had a peice of the twin.
FYI -- For those who are considering the name Addison/ Addie and such;
as you probably saw on the news, FDA just approved some female sex enhancement drug (think Viagra for women) and they are going to be marketing it under the name "Addyi" (pronounced Add-ee). If this drug gets as big as viagra or Cialis, the name Addie/ Addison, may be similar to having a boy named "Viagra"...
Re: Baby Names
So far for our girl we have Olivia Faye. Still not sure how I feel about a super popular name but it's the only one we've agreed on and grinned like idiots about.
And that's a shame.
