Re: Baby Names

  • I'm sure people won't believe me as the pregnancy continues, but I really feel like this baby won't have a name until he/she is born. They will get frustrated at not knowing our name choices. They seem to think we already have names set, but we are totally clueless.

Nothing wrong with this at all. I have know many people who can't make a decision until they meet their LO. Good luck!

I'm normally all for sharing, but holy cow! People are driving me nuts with suggestions. They ask if we have ideas and I'm honest, saying we're still thinking and struggling a little and they flood me with horrible names and act all offended if I say I'm not feeling it. Just stop already!

  • My hunnie wants to keep his name in the family for the boy.

What do you guys think of doing that? Wouldn't it be weird when you say their name and they both come running? Lol

My boy would be Joe Albert M. (The 3rd)

I am not fond of it, I'd rather do Joseph (Joe Albert M (the 3rd) still has it in the name lol

My girl name is very unique Malayla Annemarie

(pronounced mah-lay-lah, sounds like a Hawaiian flower almost)

I really don't like passing down the father's name. DH and his dad have the same name and it's super annoying. But it's such a tough spot because I would hate to insult the father saying you don't want to use his name. I agree Joseph is way better. Fingers crossed you have a girl and don't have to worry about it. Malayla (while pretty) is a bit of a tongue twister to me. My cousin's daughter is Maleia which is beloved in Hawaiian. I absolutely love her name.

  • I stressed about that for a while with people I know and worrying they might choose the same name as me.. But then I realized that even if they DO use the same name I had in mind.. I can still name my baby that name. Chances are you wont even run into to them much anyway. It's just a name. If you like it, you like it.
  • I think Viley is SO cute!! I absolutely love it. And I hope you end up using it! I thought the purpose of these message boards were to build people up.. Not diss their name...? Goes back to that old forgotten saying about saying nothing if you have nothing nice to say.
  • My boyfriend and I have two names we absolutely love ! For a boy Camdyn and for a girl Ryleigh ❤️
  • For a girl I chose Athena and for a boy we like Aries my husband is obsessed with Greek gods and always has been and I love uncommon names my first child's name is Keegan so those names kinda stuck
  • I need advice here... We found out we are having another girl! We have family names that we love- Giselle & Celia. My ds is Gabriella so it would be cool to have 2 G names but our last name is Hardesty. We are afraid of the teasing with a name like Gis Hardesty... Am I right or is it in my head? Or we could do Celia Giselle.... Any suggestions?
  • I agree with the two G names. Celia is nice but I prefer Cecilia and think it pairs better with Gabriella. Cecilia Giselle is lovely.

Giselle is a beautiful name but I ran it by my husband just now with that last name and, sure enough, he groaned very loudly. Probs gonna get flack about that one, we're guessing.

    This.
  • We finally agreed on Alexandria Rose for a girl and if it's a boy, Raymond Michael. It was so hard agreeing on a boys name but the girls name was so easy for us!
  • We thought we had our names all figured out until yesterday when I had an "aha" moment.

Our girl name is still decided, Adeline Susan (Addie or Addie Sue for short), named after my Grammy for the first name and my Mom for the middle name.

We were thinking Malachi Asher for a boy, which has no family significance (we just like it) but then I realized that Malachi August sounds good too and that would incorporate my Grandpa's name, which would be nice. The hubby is undecided, he likes both Asher and August for middle names, but I'm leaning toward August.

    Any thoughts?

I love passing on family names (when you actually like the name ;) )!
    I vote Malachi August!

  • Torgeir (tori) for a boy and Ingrid for a girl!
I'm curious as to how it's pronounced? And also how you came up with it?
  • Well, I was thinking Hazel Louise if it is a girl but now I'm loving the name Louisa.

Love the name Louisa! My middle name is Louise and I've always loved it :) Hazel's a pretty great name too, my husband nixed it for us though *sigh*

  • Anyone have any thoughts on Amelia Ann vs. Penny Lee? They are names we like + family names, just not sure which we like best.

penny lee reminds me of penny lane- although, i doubt there will be many beatles fans around as she grows up :)
  • We already have an Eli Brian and Noah Steven for number three we have either miles Kennedy or miles Christopher picked out for a boy and for girls we have 4 names in mind either Madison grace, Aubrey grace, Leah grace, or grace Elaine..... My husband only wanted grace for a girl but I am excited he is entertaining other names too :)
  • I need y'all's opinion. We're happy with our girl name, Quinn Elyse. We thought we were happy with out boy name too, but everyone's reactions have me second guessing.

What do y'all think about Coyer? I know now that it's really uncommon as a first name, but when my husband suggested it, it sounded really familiar and I liked it for a little boy. He wants to stick with it, but when everyone reacted poorly I wanted to change it. I don't want my kid to have to go through that every time he introduces himself.

Or we might find out in a few weeks that it's a girl and it won't matter at all.

I think Amelia Ann rolls off the tongue better.

I'm sorry, I don't like it. I think of the word "coy" and coyer makes me think more coy. Maybe something with a similar sound like Sawyer?

  • I was really set on the name Jordyn for a girl but me and S.O have decided on Amya for a girl and Aiden for a boy!

So far we like Daegan and Declan for a boy and Drew and Darby for a girl. Jean is a middle name in my family and George is a middle name in hubby's family. So probably choosing those for middle names!

Declan is my favorite boy name, but I'm afraid it won't go well with our last name (that includes Lan that sounds the same. :( )

  • We decided on Olivia for a girls name and Bradley for a boys name. Only 12 weeks so we have a ways to go! Can't wait to find out even though I'm 99% sure it's a boy ha
  • Love lorelai but can't get hubby on board. He does this thing with a name he gives me. Example lorelai. He will say what Laura lies. Lol he drives me nuts. But I love love love that name
  • We have known our girl's name for a while, Killian, because my name is Kelli with middle name Ann. The boys name was hard though. We finally agreed on Eivin! My family hates it but it is hard to find a boys name that we both like and that isn't too popular!
  • I think our girl name will either be Emery Louise or Leah Kate, and for a boy either Cole Austin or Grant Austin.

Louise was my moms name, she passed due to breast cancer 6 years ago. Austin, Tx is where my parents met and fell in love.
Our almost 2 year old is Noah Dean.
  • I had a ton of names I loved, but my husband is super picky. He's not into super unique names. For boy, we like Jameson Charles. And for girl, we like Harper Elizabeth. :)
  • Boy name: Curtis Ezra (Curtis is a family name, and I hate it, so we would call him Ezra)
    Girl name: Harper Kay

We also liked Elliott as a unisex name, Jamison or Norah for a girl
