I have given my husband soooo many girl name options...harper, kinley, raegan, peyton, rylee, haylee, paisley, sydney, kameron...he has given me 2: Roxanne and liberty. I said no to Roxanne and told him I'd think about liberty...and I think no. Hopefully it'll be a boy!
Hehe, hate to say it but I just must: Liberty is cute! I haven't heard that one much at all. Your girl names are all pretty darn cute though

I don't know why I haven't posted here yet, but I'm in the mood tonight:)
We have two sons - Edward James, nn Eddie/Ed, and Howard Alan, nn Howie. Their middle names are their grandfathers' first names.
If we have a boy, he will be Franklin Christopher (my husband's first name), nn Frankie/Frank.
We are stuck on a girls name. We were set on Vivian, but we recently moved and there is a two year old Vivienne that we now see quite a bit who has such a BIG personality that we have fallen out of love with using it ourselves...it is her name, no one else's. I have a few that I like, but that's about it: Daphne, Millicent (Millie), Francesca (Frankie), Pheobe, Willa, Mabel, Ruby. Yeah, they all fall into a pretty distinct category;)
Our front runners at the moment are Luella Dale (Lulu)-Luella is dh's nana and Dale is my grandmothers mm Calvin Miles-miles is my grandmothers maiden name
Last night the H and I finally agreed on a girls name. So for a girl it is Mckalya Karen and for a boy it's Cameron Andrew. I haven't run the names by our parents yet to get their thoughts and I'm not sure if I will. I would like to know any of your thoughts or opinions on are names please.
We are still very much trying to come up with names to put on our lists.
I have two questions for you wonderful ladies:
1. Gut reactions to the name Elspeth.
Nicknames could be Ellie or Elle?
I can't tell if I love it or hate it.
2. Our son's name is Holden. We have been thinking of adding the name Grayson to our list of boy names. Are the names too...similar?
Thanks in advance!
I like Elspeth, but I feel like people that hear it out loud might always confuse it with Elizabeth. Holden and Grayson are pretty similar, I wouldn't mind, but if it would bug you then just do something different. All very cute names!

Love Frankie for a girl! You have a pretty good list going there!
Due Date: Feb. 24, 2016
Team--Pink (but our nursery is Orange, Blue, & Purple!)
Feb 2016 September Siggy Challenge: Things I Love About Fall--Pumpkins!
I have Regan Kimberly from my first marriage and he has Madison Nicole from a previous relationship. I think we should keep the president name "tradition" with this one. I LOVE Kennedy for a girl (he's vetoed). Lincoln for either a girl or boy (he says no). Monroe for a girl (again - no from him)....
Other than president names.... He likes Greyson for a boy and I think it's okay but not great. I like Wyatt for a girl or boy too. He doesn't. He doesn't like any girl names - the only agreement is that the middle name will be Danielle because that's his sisters middle name (and she set us up).
Basically he hates ALL the names. Ever. Lol
I suggest Grant! I'm biased because it's DS's name.
Last night the H and I finally agreed on a girls name. So for a girl it is Mckalya Karen and for a boy it's Cameron Andrew. I haven't run the names by our parents yet to get their thoughts and I'm not sure if I will.

Just my opinion, but be careful with the spelling of Mckayla. Since it's a variant on a pretty popular girls name (one of my nieces is Makayla) and she may go through life with correcting people on how to spell it. I have spent my life correcting people with my name's spelling and pronunciation and it gets very annoying.

I would spell it Michaela.
Thanks ladies! I didn't know how to spell the name so I just took a guess at it. Now I'm confused because I don't know what the most common spelling is. Wish this easier.

I've Michaela, Makayla, McKayla. I don't think there is a most common spelling.
Oh gosh! Having twins makes the whole name thing so much harder! We have several combos picked out depending on their sex, but right now the favorites are Cain, Felix, Oliver for boys and Aria, Hazel, Felicity for girls. My husband is a big Arrow fan and if it's boy/girl he wants to name them Oliver and Felicity. Gonna have to use my presidential veto on that combo.
I'm a huge fan of Arrow too and Oliver and Felicity are on our list as well. However, we won't use Oliver because close friends of ours who also live across the street have a 6mo named Oliver. We aren't having twins either though.
Tell your H that Oliver and Felicity (if you have a boy/girl) cannot be related. That's just icky

Based on what you posted I think my niece's spelling is the most common one, but there are a LOT of variants running around. When I hear Michaela, I think of a different pronunciation based on a friend I had growing up and it was closer to Michael. Have you tried Nameberry? It will usually take what you put in and show you variants of it and the most common one.

I've seen it spelled: Michaela, Mickayla, Makayla. McKayla. I honestly don't think there's a wrong way to spell it..
For girls we have Lily, Zoey, and Hazel (my dad's grandmother's name). And for the middle name - Dawn. It's my middle name as well.
For boys we have Ashton, Ethan, and Dean (as in Winchester ). With the middle name James. James is DH's name and is also a family name on my side of the family.
My vote is Ashton for a boy, and I can't pick between Zoey/Hazel for a girl!
Our DD is Emma Jane - Emma is a great grandmother's name on my side. And Jane is for my Mother and Grandmother.
My problem is that my family has a tradition of naming kids with the same first letter... For example, my mom's oldest sister named her six kids: Brandon, Beau, Blake, Brady, Brooke, and Benjamin.
So we're torn on whether or not we should go with another 'e' name or just pick a name we both really like. My family wouldn't care either way, we just don't know if we want to carry on the tradition.
I just started my name search kind of recently. I've made a list that I hope to expand, but for now, my favorites from my list are different from my H's favorites from my list. Which is fine. At least he's liking what I put on my list. He's made a suggestion or two to add to the list that I liked.
So my favorites:
Girls- Mercy, Jerra, Eden
Boys- Zion, Judah
His favorites:
Girls- Jade, Chloe
Boys- David, Elijah
At least they were my ideas first. Maybe we will agree on something...

Yay Winter! I love it and it has my husband's and mom's approval so I think we're settled... Not that we "need" my moms approval but we're really close and I'd hate if she hated the name I chose. We are thinking Winter with Violet as the middle name.
Winter Violet is a beautiful name! I am glad to not be the only one wanting to use Winter.
My cousin had a baby girl named Penelope (Penny) Winter and I love it--kinda wanna steal!

Michaela is the traditional spelling. Anything else is a variation of the original.
I am still very much in love with Reese for a girl. I'm sort of letting go of my boy name because even though DH seemed into it at first he hasn't mentioned it again since. He doesn't like Reese though either. I'm just gonna keep pushing it lol.
My husband is dutch, and for some reason in his family they all have 2 middle names. So he wanted the tradition continued. I think it's a bit much but...I'm picking my battles.
For a girl we chose -Sophia Jane Rose Jane after his grandfather Jan and Rose after my great-grandmother.
for a Boy we chose AlexanderJean David Jean after his grandfather and David after mine. I'm not sold on the first name yet, so still looking for options.

I like Reese for a girl too but of course H doesn't. He's making it difficult to name this baby! I like McKenna but he does like "mc" names ha. The only other names I have on my list are Kaley, madelyn, Levi (for boy). I like other names but already have family members with those names and I feel like it would be weird to use them again! Middle names we want to keep in the family but I'm having a hard time choosing who to name after..
If we have a boy it's kayden James and if it's a girl it's Audrey or Aubrey marie I'm having a more difficult time with a girls name because my boys name was picked during my first pregnancy
We settled oh Cohen for a boy. Our top girl names are Shae or Farrah right now. Sloane was our girl name until I got pregnant and now I am hot and cold on it but H still loves it.
