@HayesRN13 when did you transition your baby to the crib? We also have a tummy sleeper but she's 6 weeks and a few days old. She's still in the rock n play at night but naps in crib during day (trying flat on back during day but doesn't last long- tummy is her style!)
Thanks in advance!
About 6 weeks , and of course sleep with video monitor next to us
LO slept on top of me in the recliner from 9 until 3. I meant to transfer her to the bassinet but fell asleep and didn't. Now she's passed out again and I'm wide awake bc my body is all "6 hours is a full night of sleep now, at best, especially when it's 6 uninterrupted hours." Boo. If I could just make this happen when I'm actually in my bed sometime, I'd be beside myself with glee. This falling asleep in the recliner thing isn't new...I can't even remember the last time i actually slept in my bed for more than 20 minutes at a time..
Bah. Waiting for that mythical night LO sleeps longer than 2-3 hours. Sometimes he makes it to 3 1/2. The *only* time I've seen 4 was after the last feeding of night, DH had left, and I laid down in bed with him in my arms - co sleeping. He does GREAT co-sleeping. I, however, do not do great co-sleeping. I'm always afraid I'm going to crush or smother him. Sigh... :-<
Good news - his newfound increased appetite makes him super drowsy once he puts down 3-4oz of formula. It only took a little while of singing and rocking for him to be ready to go back in the pack n play. (Downside to this - more liquid means feedings take longer. Bah)
No matter what time first night feeding is, she LOVES the 5:00 hour
Mine too. And by hour I mean HOUR. Alllll the way through to 6:00 at least. Meanwhile her brothers wake up at 7;00 and my last possible window of sleep is shrinking and shrinking.
So this is the opposite problem, LO slept from 10p-5a, then 5:30a-9a. She woke to eat both times but should I be concerned or take the magical unicorn 9 hours of sleep I got and move on? (She usually sleeps 7 hours total not 11). I don't mean this as a brag I am worried about her being lethargic or sick. I guess you never stop worrying (

My 8 week old (wednesday) has been sleeping from 8/9 pm until 5/6 am the last week. She also goes back to sleep after eating for a few more hours so I think your lo is fine! Hope she keeps it up!
Since we got up this morning (admittedly, late this morning) LO has not really napped much at all today. Just a few 10-20 min stretches here and there and been wanting to eat constantly. I finally got him to 'nap' - tho it might be more accurate to say I'm beginning the nighttime routine in the living room - and just finished my first real meal of the day. Now I'm trying to finish my beer so I can eat some ice cream for dessert
@mellymar pretty sure our babies were born around same time- June 25? Mine wouldn't nap at all today either...5 mins down then crying...but she wouldn't eat for long as well. Wonder if it's a funky 6 1/2 week old thing?

this is my LO all day for the past week. theres like no food in the house because i havent had the chance to get some due to constantly nursing LO and DH is too useless to bring some home from work (he works in a grocery store. across the street from where we live)
@slr1229 yes! 6/24. I'm thinking they must be having a growth spurt or one of these leaps people talk about. Yesterday was very similar, but I had DH with me to break up the burden.
LO has been incredibly frustrating tonight. She's usually a pretty good napper and sleeper, but today has been difficult. She wouldn't nap from 3:30 -8:00. She usually takes a nap every 3 hours. Ugh. We put her to bed and were pleasantly surprised that she went down without much trouble. Just hope she stays down.
I never thought I would be this person. Got LO to nap / sleep around 8pm. Its now almost 11. I've spent the past 3 hours eating and just getting some chill time, sure he would wake up at 2 or 3 hours to eat, and I'd feed him and we'd go to bed. Well, I've moved our supplies and us to the bedroom, and he is not stirring. The dilemma - do I wake the baby to feed him, or not? I'm going with not. I'm sure he is going to wake up within an hour or so (he has never slept longer than 4 hours), and if he doesn't, then maybe its the beginning of longer sleeps altogether.
However. Had I known this at 8pm when he first fell asleep, I would've scarfed those taquitos and then went straight to bed. Damnit.
Here I am pumping this clogged duct eating gushers like a fatty when I could be sleeping !!! Ugh I hate pumping so much!!! I'm sure right when I'm done pumping and lay down baby girl will wake ...see you all soon
It just took an hour and a half to get LO to sleep. Why do you fight it? You've only napped once all day! Here's hoping she'll sleep for a good six hour stretch. [-O<
Dilemma: LO is sleeping, but not soundly enough to successfully execute a transfer to the bassinet. I am exhausted but still cannot get comfortable enough in this effing recliner to sleep at all. What to do? Not sleep tonight myself, knowing that LO didn't nap at all yesterday, and probably won't nap today, so I'll want to die all day, or move to the bedroom where I'll sleep maybe 20 minutes before she wakes up enraged that she's no longer on top of me, and start the feed/sleep cycle over again?
She has got to start accepting either the bassinet or the crib. I go back to work 9/14 and I need to be sleeping in my bed by then so I don't get fired for being worthless all day. I really don't want to wind up in an involuntary bed sharing situation but that's definitely where this is headed.

Just go to bed pretending that he won't wake you until early morning.. It might happen!! I'll have fingers crossed for you.. We are in the same position (sort of), I usually do a "dream feed" but LO isn't stirring at all.. Think we will just let it go
LO has been sleeping 4-5/hr stretches lately but we only got a 3 hr stretch to start the night. She'll be 9 weeks this Friday and has been super difficult to put down for the last couple of nights.
I feel like she just went through a leap. Is there another one around this time?

Ugh a magic ball to tell you how much sleep you're going to get would be fantastic. I'd be much more accepting of a 4 hour stretch if I knew it going in. But being awake when LO is not? Horrific.

Agree.. It's like... Ok I'll get stuff done while LO takes this "little nap ".. Then it's 4 hours and it's damn it.. Should have slept I could have got 4 hours! Then when you sleep.. Los up within an hour... Sigh
@katyqv It is such a relief to know someone else is going through the same thing! My LO will be 9 weeks Friday as well and for the past couple of nights has only slept in about 3 hour increments (usually does 4-5). I have been freaking out thinking maybe my milk production is down since I EBF. Tonight I decided to nurse him at 9pm and then give him a bottle to make sure he was good and full and he ate 5 1/2 oz! Such a piglet! He slept until now (4am which makes for a 7 hour stretch!) which mean he must be hungry and thus waking up more frequently before. I did some research and they are going through a leap from 6-8 weeks so I guess our LO's are just a little late starting their growth spurt/leap. Should only last a few days and our milk supply will adjust as well! Good luck!
I was up nursing lo when I heard DS get up. We all climbed into his bed to snuggle. Got him down, now finishing this feed so I can finally get some sleep. So freaking tired.
@dancegurl1118 my 8 week old had a day last week where she literally slept all day and only woke to eat every few hours and would go right back down. She still slept at night too. But the next day she was back to normal so i didn't worry. I think they need sleep catch up days too work growth spurts. (Especially since she had taken to not napping longer than 20 min increments dieting the day).
Thanks @swiebe and @millsape! LO woke up at 2:30 and then again at 5:30 this morning. Both times inhaling her bottle (EP). She's still sleeping now but I'm up pumping. Boo.

LO is 7 weeks and has been doing this the past 1.5. She'll go 3-4 days only napping in 20 minute stretches, getting 8-9 hours (broken into 2-3 stretches) at night. And then she'll have about 36 hours where all she does is eat and sleep to catch up. I love the sleep days. So so much.
I can never get back to sleep easy after the 5 am feed damn it!!!!
I usually do this feed side lying in bed. It can yield us two more hours of sleep usually.
YES. I change at 8-9 feed, dream feed at 10-11 & wake up side lying in bed until 5 - I have to get up for work then, but the side feeding has helped so much with me & LO getting back to sleep quicker.
Actually got LO tp take 3 legit naps today...so now she has refused to go down for the night at a reasonable hour. I cannot win with this kid.
In the past 24 hours, I have spent 16 in the effing nursery recliner. I'm so tired of it right now. I want my bed.
It occurred to me today that LOs refusal to sleep in the bassinet started right around the time we stopped using probiotic drops. That is also when she started barfing a lot. Could be coincidence...could be that the drops were helping her digestion and the bassinet issue is that her reflux acts up when she lays flat on her back so she won't accept it now. Will be calling the doctor tomorrow to see whats up. Anyone else using probiotics for reflux?
Ugh we are trying the bassinet and she just wiggles around way too much and ends up waking herself up. Then she keeps us up because she's in our room. We have this stupid one bedroom duplex so we're stuck with her in our room or in the living room which leaves us not being able to be social after her bedtime. However she hasn't been falling asleep until 9/930 most nights Any advice on this bassinet issue?? Ugh

Edit: want to add I wish I could go back to sleep now but morning pumps are my best production. I miss my bed already
