My doctor said to sit in the hottest water I can stand for 15 minutes to help healing. I was too lazy to get that low in the tub so I just did a sitz bath 2x a day. So wonderful.
But so funny that every doctor told something different. I feel like it's old school vs new school practices. Sometimes doctors just do things because that's they way it's always been done, instead of evidence based.

My left boob is much smaller than my right. When drained of milk, it fits in my hand, which makes it smaller than it was pre pregnancy. Whats up with that?
I know a lot of you have talked about the brand Aden and anais. They have some stuff on zulilly right now. I am not sure if they are good deals but since everyone talks about this brand I thought I would mention it.
when LO was getting circumcised yesterday the doctor said "your husband will be happy to know he has a larger than average penis" like.. uhmm.. okay? ill admit that i laughed internally because when he was first born, the first thing my sister said was "whoa hes packing heat" )
They spelled her middle name "Sphia" instead of "Sophia", they used my married name where my maiden name should be, and added an extra U in my last name.
Maybe a dumb question... But did you have to mail something in to get the birth certificate? Or did it just come in the mail? If I'm supposed to mail something in, then I'm seriously slacking.

We filled out and turned in the paperwork in the hospital and they sent the (awfully incorrect) birth certificate to us. We didn't mail anything in

We had to mail something in. A little form that the hospital gave us when we were discharged. The social security card came on its own.
@Sjeff0816 I love Bamboobies nighttime pads. They're much softer than cotton ones, absorb more and don't stick to my nipples. If I remember right, they're not cheap but worth it. I threw my cotton ones out, I hated them enough.
I got the bamboobies today! So far so good. They're definitely prettier than my cotton pads Thanks!
In other news - tomorrow the sh!t gets real. DH goes back on duty and it will only be me and LO for 48 hours +. Please, gods, let us make it thru these first 2 days alone without too much drama. Please, I'm not asking for it to always be roses when DH is on duty, but ease me into it, will you? [-O<
Yeah, no to this. He has cried ALL day long other than an hour this morning after breakfast and after crying all day he has fallen into a fitful doze just now. Ugh. I've had two meals whilst listening to a screaming kid, have been bouncing and walking and bringing in packages from the porch with a screaming kid... He will calm down if I bounce on the exercise ball, but even if he fell asleep as you bounced as soon as you stopped he woke and started crying again. My back is killing me from holding him and holding the posture necessary to gold him while bouncing the ball. He's been inconsolable, good gods. 8-}
My DH told me yesterday you look skinny, it was the first time I had wore jeans in forever because it's summer and it was really sweet. He is counting down hours to my pp apt poor guy.

We have to pick up our birth certificate at the county office.

We had to fill out a form and mail it in (or we could pick up from city hall). I'm sure it varies by state and city though. SS card came automatically - don't forget to put your LOs name on the mailbox! The USPS cannot leave a SS card unless the name on the mailbox matches. We heard this from our hospital, and my coworker had this issue so I can verify it's a real thing (unless you are tight with your mailperson I suppose!)
Hey ladies! Car dealership got me out of there in an hour-fifteen, so not bad. Even though out repairs were free, I don't think they wanted a screaming baby scaring customers away.
That being said, they did show me the "quiet room" if I wanted it, but LO was good. A bit fussy but we hung out in the bathroom a bunch - she spit up and needed a full outfit and diaper change, her first one I've done in a "public" restroom! And then I somehow got her into the k'tan and we walked around forever as she whined but kept it together. She had the decency to wait until the car ride home to start screaming, so only I got that joy.
The only downside was that she was fussy the whole afternoon when we got back but not sure it was related - just made for a LONG day overall.
RE: medical bills, mine was "only" $24k, and I am currently fighting paying $3k since the whole thing should be covered by insurance. I guess I am on the hook if I got a private versus shared recovery room, but since I didn't "choose" the room, insurance is fighting it out with the hospital so I'm not too worried.
@mellymar thinking of you... When DH even just works late, I cry.
@hoodoll82, glad it didn't take long. Also, warranty work should be just as much of a priority as paid work, they don't make quite as much, but the manufacturer pays the dealership for warranty work, so whoever helped you as well as the technician, still gets there commission. I used to work in the service department of a dealership and they would actually make us call customers and schedule warranty work so they could make the money

I miss sleeping and cuddling with DH, I don't want to sleep with a baby anymore .... Does anyone else just miss their time with DH? This is the part that is hardest
@HayesRN13 Yes. DH is good at making it feel great to switch to morning family snuggles instead of sexy time. But I definitely miss our chemistry. We said last night that LO is going to start napping in the living room so we can have the bedroom.
Dear Diary,
We have less than a week left in Germany after living here 13 months. We love it here and will realllllyyyyy miss it. But I'm also super excited to introduce LO to my 96 year old grandmother and to my father and FIL and all our friends. But we will be in limbo for the next 5 months, moving between NYC, the Midwest, and eventually back to Europe. My employer doesn't feel the need to give me a timeline yet, though. So my maternity leave hasn't been fully defined yet.
All. The. Feels. Limbo limbo limbo. I am just trying to focus on and enjoy the moments as they come. And take lots of deep breaths.
Thanks for letting me vent, and apologies in advance for the venting that is probably yet to come!
@mellymar you poor thing!!!! The struggle is real. Mine leaves for a night in the morning and then leaves for 4 days next week to go to Illinois. I am dreading it like no other.......my sanity is going to be tested.

4 days! :-S Probably because I only ever conceptualized 3 days, I feel like 4 days is just 1 day over my ability to handle sh!t. I'm sorry in advance. Be sure to use your local resources (your fam and ILs).
Hey, the bonus to the kid fussing all day was that once we went to bed (admittedly, I started the bed process late - we finished about midnight) he slept thru 3 hours instead of 2. And because I started so late this is my last feeding this morning and i should (hopefully) get another 3 hour stretch out of it
@mellymar someone ate my last two cookies and I hope it was my MIL because the fiber will give her the poos ^#(^
What happened with @Westypet?? I missed it. I hope everything is ok.
I had my 6 week check up and all was well but I was enjoying not having to shave my Virginia...I don't want to have sex because I'm too tired to prepare for it.
I'm convinced the worst part of a OB's job is the 6 week check up. Think about it...Virginias that haven't seen the light of day in 6 weeks and are all busted up? And the crotch rot? No, ma'am.

Lol! I totally agree. My OB has relocated so I had to see a new one. I instantly apologized. I felt bad she didn't get to do the "fun" parts of my pregnancy and was stuck with the aftermath. Bleck X_X
I read something about how somewhere between 6-9 weeks LOs go through a super fussy, super gassy stage. I read that their digestive tract goes through one of its final stages of development, hence the gas. I noticed starting at 8 weeks that LO is gassy 99% of the day. She constantly grunts and struggles and strains, farts a lot, has no problem getting burps out, and gripe water, burping, bicycles, gas drops, and her Zantac are all useless. She's fussy and gassy no matter what. She doesn't really scream a ton, just struggling constantly. I feel so bad and I plan to ask at her 2 month appointment on Monday, but has anyone else experienced this yet? It's been 4 days now and I feel so bad that I can't help.
Anyone here watch HIMYM? We just reenacted the confetti episode. 1 super full diaper, followed by a blowout 10 min later which required a bath, then she pooped in the tub. This would be funny if it wasn't me.
last night one of my boobs soaked a big section the blaket on our bed (like a foot long, couple inches wide) stupid boobs. but i guess its my fault for sleeping without a shirt/bra on.
also when i take LO off the boob cause he fell asleep, he will often keep sucking. makes me laugh everytime
@mellymar Yeah the 3 days last time was just enough...... 4 might kill me. I just have my in laws. All my family lives in Kansas. Honestly thinking of driving 2 hours to my grandparents to have help..... Pathetic?! Lol

My SO is in the Marine reserves.. whenever he leaves for a weekend I go to my parents - it's too hard to be alone! He actually had to go for 2 weeks when LO was only a week and a half old - I would NOT have made it on my own!

LO isn't really fussy but he's gassy and has been grunting a lot. That's interesting. I guess I'll see if it continues.
they aren't as cheap as others but they really do last and save you money in the end. $14.99 for 2 sets of pads that last the entire breastfeeding period versus paying $10 for a box of disposables that get tossed....great investment!!!
@kkdb14 my LO is 9 weeks today and I would agree that this could be very true. Up allllll night the last few nights just grunting. Well, he was sound asleep, we were up! I was blaming myself for eating too much tomato sauce/ tomatoes but this could be it!
