The winds are blowing 35 mph and it is 0 degrees without wind chill factor. We had a blizzard yesterday and I feel like I need to get the f*&# out of here. I wish we had an attached garage, then I wouldn't need to worry about what kind of exposure my kids will get.
Yeah I could do with out the blizzards and sub zero weather. We really need to go grocery shopping but decided not to yesterday when we had planned as it was below zero and the white out conditions with lots of drifting snow making the roads around here so bad. Ugh! DH just went to the local gas station for milk, eggs and creamer and we are cleaning out the cupboards at this point!
We usually cook and prep a bunch of stuff on Sundays for the week so that we don't have to spend much time cooking on weeknights so now the whole week is thrown off.
I drove 5 miles towards work and turned around. The car was sliding around at 20 mph...I guess its a work from home day. With all the accidents I saw, I refuse to take the baby out, so I guess we are both staying home today.

Funeral got postponed due to snow and ice. Not sure what we will do now. But LO did great at visitation. Even gave his own tribute to his grandpa by squealing and talking at just the right time. Haha.
Yeah, its -2 and clear, but there is still a sheet of ice on the highways and given today's high of 10 degrees, I'm thinking they won't be getting better! Is it sad that I think I totally wasted a shower now? Lol

I am getting a Kindle Fire HDX and the sad thing is I am most excited about the possibility of reading books on it. For some reason I think that having access to reading on a tablet will make it so that I have more time to actually read lol!
Today DD's favorite toy is the baby Tylenol bottle. She freaks out whenever I take it away! Is it bad that I'm just letting her play with it? Lol
This is everyday in our house. I just leave it by all of her other toys now! Don't judge that my child is playing with a bottle of Tylenol, it makes her happy!

Same here! Hoping to get out tonight go grocery shop. I hate not having meals planned out for the week.
Also done with this weather. Groundhog promised an early spring. Any day now would be great, groundhog!
Our hot water pipes are frozen in the kitchen and laundry room. We're on day two of no hot water. I was running the kettle yesterday so I could do dishes and blew the breaker since we have extra heaters running in the kitchen. Then discovered that the bulb burnt out in our creepy basement. It's takeout and paper plates around here for a bit!
Just talked two nieces who are the their twenties into doing a weekend stay at our house with LO so DH and I can have a little getaway. Excited and nervous all at once. Glad I have a month to prepare myself.
I don't think I've ever counted down te hours of the day quite like this! I so want DH to come home and help with the kids so that I can rest. It sucks taking care of kids when you're sick!
Wow, this winter has been brutal for some of you! It's in the teens here and we're expecting snow tonight, but nothing like other parts so I'm not complaining.
LO has a cold and is constantly streaming snot. She's in good spirits but she had a coughing fit during this mornings nap and threw up in her crib. I'm holding her for this nap hoping she gets some decent sleep. Poor sweetie.
TTC #1 since 2011
Me: 36, anovulatory PCOS; DH: 34, fine
Sophia Juliet conceived through IVF and born April 15, 2014
Hot water is back on! In the kitchen at least. So excited to run the dishwasher!
Time for an army bath!
Amazingly, I actually accomplished work stuff today! Designed a flyer, updated our website and sent out an email blast. Hopefully no one at work realizes that this only took me 3 hours lol

Just put the baby down for a nap in her crib for the first time...usually we rock her to sleep in our arms but she was resistant this time.So far it doesn't seem to be working, I hear giggles, whining and babbling lol.

So we went to try a new restaurant in town for lunch (it's a chain). I'd heard rave reviews about the soup, and DH wanted to try something they had featured on their website.
We get there, and this restaurant serves neither thing we want. I can honestly say, there's nothing that pisses me off more in life than getting so set for something, and having it ripped away like that - foodwise. Same thing happened when Olive Garden stopped carrying Braised Beef and Tortellini (the only thing DH and I ever order there).
Needless to say, I will never go back to this restaurant, even if they have something else that might be amazing. Am I weird? Or bullheaded? We're both Tauruses, so I blame the stars.

I don't blame you. Being let down when you had your eye (or tastebuds) set on it sucks. I'm the same way. Plus, what kind of chain restaurant doesn't carry something featured on their website?
@Talltrees82 thanks for the well wishes! I'm starting to feel better. I used the TV as a babysitter quite a bit today.
@JWest07 - it can be so brutal being sick with kids! Today wasn't so bad - LO had a 2.5 hour nap in the afternoon which was helpful! DD and I just snuggled on the couch and watched some movies. I started feeling better in the afternoon, so not so bad. Not ideal though
Why do babies always refuse to sleep on days when you really need them to sleep?! And why do toddlers insist on waking babies up on days that you've worked the hardest to get them to sleep? Sigh.
Ugh I was lurking on the October BMB and there was a thread about what your baby's ethnicity is. This morning a woman posted that she was proud to have an all white baby. I'm surprised no one has jumped on her for that. When will people stop being so ignorant.

LO has diarrhea for the first time in her life.... Anything I should/can do?
My LO gets it for a couple days when she's teething. I just make sure to use diaper cream so she doesn't get a rash. As long as she is eating ok there is nothing to worry about. Hope your LO feels better soon.

Not worth risking it especially with baby! It wasn't as bad here today, just really cold.
