FWIW, I had vey heavy bleeding with my pregnancy with my daughter. Clots, tissue, for around a week. I was positive I'd miscarried. The doc in emerg told me I had miscarried. I actually had been pregnant with twins and only miscarried one of them. This is a relatively common occurrence, but many women aren't as closely observed early on as I was (clomid pregnancy) so they often never know about the vanished twin.

Decidual bleeding is also not terribly uncommon. Essentially, if your hormone levels are fairly low you may shed parts of the endometrium because you don't have enough of a signal to prevent that shedding. With decidual bleeding, you don't shed parts the baby is attached to, obviously. I had it at 4 and 8 weeks with my son. It usually happens around when you would get your period.

Knowing this stuff helps me feel better. Of course any bleeding needs to be reported to your HCP, and it can be very worrisome, but there's plenty of possibility for a good outcome too.

I actually just had some implantation bleeding that was about 4 days of extremely light (brownish pink discharge) accompanied with cramps that were exactly like period cramps and I ended up being pregnant. I was sure I wasn't and that my period was coming but it never did. Don't take a test too early though nc I got a negative and got discouraged for nothing bc I actually was.

I really appreciate this thread and every post... well except for @Halitzuanoss‌ pic.
This is an XP from yesterday on my BMB F14:

I went to the Christmas party at the Boys and Girls Club last night as planned. I helped set up, did crafts with the kids and helped get the gifts ready. I was on my feet maybe 3 hours and was feeling tired and thirsty. I got some water and called DH to check on the kids. Then I felt a gush. I went to the bathroom and I had bright red blood everywhere. Not spotting, it felt like when my water broke with LO1. I left right away and called the OB. I had an ultrasound this morning and LO2 looks good!! It turns out I'm only measuring 6 weeks instead of almost 9. Most likely I ovulated late because BF. We even saw a flicker of a heart beat! That little flicker of light was the best present I could receive this year. LO1 was my rainbow baby. I pray we don't have to go through that heart ache ever again. I have all the feels today. :x

Glad everything is okay tessi! I had spotting last night and woke up this morning soaked in blood. Went to the er and they said it was to early to tell what was going on. According to lmp I'm 5 weeks 6 days. They even said a pregnancy urine test came back negative but had a low blood hcg. Still holding onto hope until my follow up the next few days.

I am 6w4d and have heavy bleeding after intercourse but went to the ob and I have a blood vessel on my cervix, she said nothing to worry about. Was able to see babies hb. Never had this problem with my 1st. Always call your ob! Since I am RH negative she had me get a rhogam shot now to be safe since the dad is positive. Also something to consider when bleeding. Hi everyone, I have been spotting since the 12/10/14 about 2 days after i found I was pregnant off and on 2 times it became bleeding and cramps like AF ones! I had my 1st U/S the lady said the GS was compressed and there was fluid outside somewhere not so close to the GS. I went to a Doc that prescribed me buscopan I freaked didn't take it and went straight to a gyn. He did another U/S and says GS looks ok put me on progestone injections etc. Was in the clinic and started bleed win a few days later! Dark blood!!! Which was only when I peed. I did another U/S doc said the sac was still intact couldn't say much more. Fast forward the Saturday after I was to b discharged from clinic we did another U/S at this point by my lmp I should be like 6wk 5 days! The sonographer said he could see a perfect gestational sac, and a small yolk sac which wasn't there the Monday before. They want me to come in tomorrow for another U/S. The only symptoms I have my breAst still slightly sore and a funny taste in the mouth. I am really hoping and praying with everyone as I am still spotting but not cramping at all.

I had a tiny tiny amount of spotting first thing yesterday morning, and some more this morning. It's red, and I'm freaking out. No cramping. I'm just praying hard it's from spending 8 hours cooking dinner. Ah.

I had a very small amount of spotting this morning. My doctor is closed today. I called a nurse hotline, and they told me to go to the ER. I am now at the ER with 75 other people waiting to be seen....

We lost our last baby in August at 21 weeks. Hoping this is nothing.

I am 6w2d and have really been bleeding for two days straight. A little cramping but not alot. Tonight though there was a black mass that came out. Am heading to the ER in the morning. Sigh.......

I am 8 weeks 2 days and I spotted 2 weeks ago for about a day and a half.. Then nothing. Then Christmas eve I spotted light pink when I wipe twice and now I had a few red drips into the toilet and darker red when I wiped. My first appt is Monday and I had a Mc in Sept. I have been telling myself that the first time was implantation bleeding and the one on Xmas eve was bc I held my 2yr old for the entire mass and had to carry her diaper bag and gifts and her and walk about 10 mins to the car. Not sure what I can say about todays spotting. Trying to stay positive:/

Update on my spotting: as of yesterday it has stopped! I had a second draw today and my betas are increasing nicely. Ultrasound scheduled for next Friday at 6w1d.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone dealing with spotting/bleeding!

A big difference exists between descriptive writing and a visual which cannot be unseen. Now that you know people thought it was gross, can you please edit your post to remove the picture?

@Halitzuanoss‌ Before you posted, did you take a look at this thread? And did you see any other pictures posted? No. A description of spotting and a picture of nasty bloody toilet paper are two totally different things.

I was spotting for four days in a row during my 4th week right around my AF, always peach or pink off and on, then it stopped no spotting since. Keep your head up ladies and try and think positive my fingers are crossed for all of you. First ultrasound on Monday, hope I see our sticky bean..

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. My levels have gone from 289 to 255 to 162. Seems to be a miscarriage but they couldn't find the implantation during the US so i go back monday for more bloodwork & US to make sure it's not an ectopic pregnancy. Good luck to everyone else!!

I haven't peeked in this thread, so this may have been covered- but since I wasn't spotting until now, I haven't read anything. I apologize if it's a repeat.

Is spotting just a wait and see thing? I've been spotting off and on since I woke. It's red. I have a little cramping, but I kinda always do.. and assume it's my uterus kinda stretching and doing it's thing? I don't know the difference between that or worse cramps, really? My midwife office isn't open weekends. You can certainly call the on call one, but it seems pointless since they likely wouldn't do anything... correct? So just wait and see what happens and hope it stops?

@JMB32‌ and @MarathonHiker‌ , I had spotting for 3 weeks from 5w2d until 8w3d. Sometimes I still have tinges of blood. It scared the crud out of me and I'm still not out of the woods. I've had two U/S, the first one showed a HB of only 80 at 6w and the second at 7w looked more on target. My doctor has no answer for the bleeding and right now, it is a wait and see game. Fingers crossed for all of us. I called the oncall OB the night I started spotting, they were kind to me, gave me a few options because I needed to fly out of town, and I do not regret discussing the situation with them.

Ok, maybe I'll ring them up - I guess it doesn't hurt, even so they're aware. It helps to hear stories! I know in my heart spotting CAN be normal and absolutely nothing. But I know it can be something. So it's unsettling, especially since it's the first time. But trying not to freak out and hope it's the normal kind

Bah. Spotting started again. No heavy bleeding, but one-sided pain and combined with the low hCG numbers, ectopic is a considerable concern. As my OB's nurse instructed when I last talked to her, I'm in emerg now. I feel ridiculous being back here because I was here on the 18th when I passed out at work and because of my asthma I've been here a lot. I hate feeling like I'm wasting their time, but I can't ignore that an ectopic pregnancy is quite possible with what I've been experiencing.

My first mc was at 12 weeks, never had any bleeding whatsoever. Second was a chemical and that was a crap ton on heavy beyond belief bleeding. This is my third time being pregnant and I started spotting earlier today and now light bleeding, but bright red. I'm trying not to get worried, but since I've never made it all the way through a pregnancy I really don't know what to think right now. I called my OB office but they said since my appointment isn't until jan 12 and I haven't had an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy (cause urine/blood isn't good enough) they can't do anything. Is that normal or should I be looking for a new dr before I even see this one?

Thanks @ShellyR‌ . It's just awkward because I want to work there in a few years, so I hate being an annoyance. Anyway, had another beta run, numbers are still low for where I have to be (there's literally no possible way I'm earlier than 5w today) but are doubling. The low beta can mean ectopic is more likely. So ultrasound tomorrow, repeat in a week, plus more blood work. yay.

I started spotting a week ago and it was brown and relatively light. On Christmas Eve, I woke up with red blood and went to the ER since my OB was closed for the holiday. According to my LMP, I should have been 6w5d but the TV ultrasound showed only a gestational sac and I was told I was likely about 5 weeks. I was charting (but not temping) so I know when I ovulated according to the OPK (11/21) and got a positive test 12/5, so I really don't think my dates are too far off. I went to my OB on Friday after heavy bleeding with small clots that started Christmas Day and another TV ultrasound still showed the sac but nothing else. After all the blood I was pretty sure i had MC'd. He wasn't too concerned with the bleeding as it's not uncommon and I go back 1/6 to see if there have been any changes. I've had no cramping at all. It's hard to stay positive now that I'm bleeding regularly but I'm really hoping that my dates are just somehow off. My thoughts are with all of your who are spotting/bleeding, it's such a scary thing!

Edited to add: hcg 12/22 - 1,494 and 12/24, 2,040. OB said after 1,400, it takes 72-96 hrs to double so he thought these numbers were ok even though they are on the lower end.

I did call my midwife yesterday and she called back- but as I assumed, it's watch and wait. She said spotting can be normal or it can be abnormal. She said if I'm still spotting over the whole weekend (and I am, ugh) to call Monday AM and she'll set up an ultrasound appointment for tomorrow to check things.
