I had brown spotting for 10 days during weeks 4 and 5. Stopped on the day I hit week 6, and I've had massive preggo symptoms since: sore boobs, massive nausea/puking, exhausted, etc. This is pregnancy #3, we have one biological child and one ended in miscarriage at 5 weeks. Ultra sound Monday morning hoping for a solid heartbeat and good news:) I do not want a d & c for Christmas!!!
I have my fingers crossed for those also experiencing bleeding. Mine seems to have slowed significantly, and I'm hoping this just means it was decidual bleeding. Those of you experiencing it, I know it is scary. Just remember - the majority of pregnant women who experience first trimester bleeding go on to have healthy babies. That's what I'm telling myself to keep my hope strong.

Thank you to everyone who has shared their story, and my sincere condolences to everyone who has received unfortunate news.
I spotted for a few days after my first positive test -- mostly brown, no cramping, but definitely some red blood for about two of the days. It stopped a week ago and nothing since. From what I've read, this can signify anything from absolutely nada all the way to ectopic pregnancy.
All I want is to get my HCG levels checked so I can at least gain more information on which direction things might be headed (or might have already gone), but I have hit a few roadblocks. I am new to a smallish town and the one OB office here wouldn't/couldn't schedule me for a "viability check" until Jan 5. (They said my other option was to go to the ER, but that seems wasteful to me since at the moment I'm "fine.") I also don't have a local physician currently because I recently moved and my insurance doesn't flip the switch on the change until the first of the month.
So I'm just kind of waiting around. I can't even POAS for answers because I know they can give false positives if you've recently miscarried and HCG is still in your system. (That hasn't stopped me from wasting money on them!) It's frustrating because I'd truly just like to know either way, especially before going home for the holidays.
Anyway, needless to say this thread has been such an important resource for me as I wait for Jan 5 and compulsively fondle my boobs to see if they feel sore. I completely sympathize with the uncertainty so many of you are also feeling right now. All my best wishes to everyone, and thanks again for contributing.
Morning! Wanted to share last week's scary experience. Thursday night I went to bed, but never fell into a deep sleep and kept waking up. Around two I got up feeling really hot. When I went to the bathroom I had some pink spotting. I was nervous, but Ok. I tried to go back to bed, but at 5 I just felt like something was wrong, and I got up again. I was heavily bleeding bright red blood. I freaked out, cried hysterically, and then about a half hour later had a very large bowel movement. Then the bleeding stopped. I have a history of ibs and constipation so I figured they were related, but we ran to the dr first thing, as soon as they opened. At 6weeks and 2 days we were able to see and hear the heartbeat, and the doctor told us everything was fine, however i do have a large blood clot. He said it is not affecting the baby and he doesn't expect it ever will. He also said the clot will be reabsorbed, or I will pass it....we go back on Friday to check it out. To make a long story short, the spotting/bleeding was not amy indication of a bad thing. It's normal to panic, but try your hardest to believe it will all be ok!
Thank you for sharing this. I'm 7.5 weeks and have been spotting and freaking out all weekend i have an apt at 1 today. And I'm hoping everything is fine! Stories like these are so helpful when all you can do is wait around and hope for the best....
Farewell everyone. My levels were tested this morning and I was 620. Fast forward to this after noon and I started heavy bleeding. Levels have dropped to 580 since then and no gestational sac is visable on the TV ultrasound. We are heartbroken. I wish you all sticky healthy fat little babies.
Had an ultrasound today and saw the little tiny heart beating after a weekend of bleeding. I have never felt such relief in my life. I was preparing for bad news all weekend. I guess this is a small taste the worries of parenting! Thank you all for sharing and being open about your joys and sorrows I learn so much from you!
I am 7 weeks today, had a stomach age and went to the bathroom and saw light pink on the TP. It is progressively getting heavier but still not enough to wear a pad. I have some slight cramping. I miscarried in May of 2013, had a healthy baby boy in April of 2014 and now I'm pretty sure I'm misscarrying this one. I go to the doctor tomorrow. I really hate that anyone has to go through this!!!
Ugh. I just went to the bathroom and found some pink on my underwear, and a little more when I wiped. I'm trying so hard to stay relaxed, and I'll call the office in the morning if this keeps up. Here's hoping it's nothing, but I'm nervous. Please don't let this be a bad sign.

Thank you. My doctor had me go in today. The sack is getting bigger but still no heart beat : ( the bleeding has kinda stopped, just praying that everything goes good. The doctor had my blood drawn and I have to go back in tomorrow & back on Friday. Never felt so scared and anxious.
I'm so sorry they are giving you the run around @BrassyClarinet. Huge hugs.

Just thought I'd share my past week: I had about 2-3 days of light pink and then brown spotting, started out light then got slightly heavier. Tried to reassure myself that it was normal but was worried. Friday it turned bright red but was still very light, no need for a panty liner so still thought it was somewhat normal and told myself to be worried. On sat eve it got heavier and slightly darker, this is when DH and I started freaking out. We called around but no one would see us as it was too late, ER wasnt an option as we're Canadians in the US waiting on insurance. Sunday the blood turned dark red with clots coming through, we thought this was most likely that I was miscarrying. Spent half the day on the phone but no one would see me and mostly everywhere was closed in our little town as it was Sunday. Got a clinic appt and u/s scheduled for Monday at least. Monday morning started passing larger clots, the biggest at the end was half the size of my fist. I also had period like cramping and waves of pain. At this point we thought it was all over and it was a mc for sure. We almost didn't want to do the u/s by this point as we were positive they wouldn't find anything.
Imagine our shock and excitement when there it is measuring 6w1d with a super strong heartbeat of 156 bpm.
I just wanted to write this out to let everyone know it's not always bad! It's important to get checked out but don't lose hope right away like I did.
After the half a fist sized clot came out, most of the bleeding has subsided and I'm feeling much better. They couldn't find anything wrong so I was told that the tissue needed to pass and my body was likely cleaning up my uterus for the growing baby
Yesterday I noticed some bright red blood in the toilet after a BM. No more spotting until later that night when I had some brown spotting after another BM. Brown spotting again this morning after a BM. Nothing since then, but it seems to only come out when I have a BM. Wondering if it's an irritatable cervix. I called my doctor yesterday after the red spotting and they ordered betas. Yesterday at 4w4d my HcG was 348 and progesterone was 12. I go in for a second draw on Friday.
My bf and I had sex last more and afterwards he noticed blood on him. I ran to the bathroom and No doubt I was bleeding. It wasn't much n I called my Ob. They said I should b fine but I'm a serious wreck after already having 2 prior miscarriages. What do y'all think?
Hi, I am now 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Earlier this year in June I had a m/c. So every little thing that happens worries me. I have been spotting since last Monday.. Very light and dark brown. No cramping but just spotting... Anyone thing this is normal? I've advised my doctor already and he said it's common to spot since the uterus is expanding.. My US isn't due until mid jabuary.. This wait feels forever!!
I started to spot today. Lightly, but red/pink. Haven't had any different or bad cramps. Just trying to stay busy as my doctor isn't in the office until New Years

I had some very light brown spotting only when wiping once the day I had my ultrasound but it never happened again. I chalked it up to irritation from the ultrasound and didn't worry about it. Well it happened again today after having some aching in my lower abdomen. Again, it only happened once today, but still freaked me out a little bit since the ultrasound was 5 days ago and nothing else has happened in the last few days to cause irritation. Then, this evening after using the restroom I had a very small brown clump of something (tissue of some sort I am guessing). What in the world? No red or pink blood, just very light brown, almost tan even. Is there ever a reason that passing a small clump of something would be normal? Kind of freaking out here, but I don't really think it's something to bother my doctor with on Christmas Eve since there's no real bleeding or cramping.
