Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

So stressed. We are moving to Florida in 2 1/2 weeks and it seems if something can wrong if has. First we can't find a place so we are moving in with my inlaws. Issues with selling the 2nd car for moving money. DH's boss just sent him a text message telling him that he doesn't need to come to work anymore. He was only there for another week. But his boss says that since business is slow and his replacement is already hired, they don't want to pay him anymore. Now we are out $1000!!! Which is our gas and moving truck!!!
Plus we have a roommate to help with bills but she has been MIA for the last 2 weeks so who knows if we are even going to get any money from her for the past month. Another $600 gone. And yes she is fine, working and staying at her boyfriends.
We spent a ton of money a few months back for DragonCon. We almost backed out and weren't going to go but decided to go ahead since it would be our last weekend here with friends. Have been scrambling to get costumes finished but now I don't even care.
On top of all that I now have to figure out how to feed us for the next 2 weeks!!!! (DH was a restaurant manager, so he ate 3 meals at work and always brought home dinner)
Really trying not to just break down and loose it. I need a drink!!!

Oh Canada!

So excited!! Not so much for my 345am wake up call, but LO and I are flying home to Canada to visit my parents! Its their birthdays this weekend and they have no clue we are coming!

My baby is a magical sleeping unicorn. She has had night terrors the past two weeks off and on, about an hour after she goes down. Tonight she screamed twice and put herself back to sleep by the time we got in there to soothe her. I've heard about these babies, but it was always a friend of a friend... Go ahead and hate me.

I don't know wtf was up with my child's sleep last night, but it sucked donkey balls. He slept great at the ILs' all day and then kept waking up overnight.
Doesn't he know mommy has a job, this is my busiest week all year, and I really need to be on my game?!? Maybe he does....
But now he's awake and talking and cooing to our skylights which is kind of adorable. Kind of.

The AF makes you take a resume writing class when you out process. I really only know nursing resumes. Me and DH argue over what should be on one a lot. What exactly do you do @aronie82‌ ?

@aronie82 that sucks! I lost my job a few years ago and had to write a resume from scratch, and I really focused more on the skills and accomplishments that would apply across a large section of the working world (teamwork, organization, innovation, etc). Good luck, and if you need someone to look at a resume, I'd be happy to help!

Just wanted to AW my scaredy cat, Seamus. He's the biggest chicken about everything that is loud and unpredictable (hmm, all babies?) and DH (and I to a small extent) have been working on trying to get him comfortable around Aiden, and this happened this morning. Aiden had a solid grip on his tail, and Seamus just ignored it for a good minute!

Ugh @mamrotu, sorry your DH is being a pain! I get petty when I'm angry too, so let the pettiness fly. It usually saves DH from getting completely blasted by an angry lady, instead of just getting sternly talked to. Is it time for a come-to-Jesus meeting? I did that with DH and cried through the last part of our chat, and I think that was the turning point for him.

Glad Indy is understanding though :-) A good dog kiss can make the crappy days so much easier.

The most annoying part is then we have to wait for the results.

Hugs @mamrotu73. I think a lot of husband's think because they are the provider that they work harder than us.

Although I'm feeling particularly inadequate lately because I have yet to really clean and organize the house. I just feel like I have no time because ds only takes half hour naps and when he is awake he is usually fussy, so even if I wear him I can only be in one place for a few seconds. I just don't know how to keep up. Plus, my semester starts soon, so I have no idea how to keep up with school work and housework plus the baby.

Totally agree. I'm just so spent when he goes down for a nap that it's hard to do anything other than basics (Yay, I washed the diapers!). Schoolwork? If I were taking more than one class, I'd be hosed.

@ tferr02 sarasota. DH is from there and we lived there for 3 years. Moving to it different stats is stressful when it goes right. Add in issues and a baby and omg, I never want to do this again.

Today I got both boys up, dressed, myself dressed for the gym, dropped the boys off at the Y free childcare and sat in front of the snack bar at the gym reading a People magazines for an entire hour. It was amazing.

I need to discuss the wedding shower invitation I just got... Inside is a note that says:
"We have purchased 12 place settings for the couple. Please circle what you would like to give them and send a check to (person hosting) for your total." Then it listed a place setting for $100, a pasta bowl for $55, and a couple of others.

What the actual fuck.

It says they will acknowledge the gifts given at the shower... So a list of who bought what?

Also, we are throwing her another shower. Eff these people and their assholeness.

@mamrotu73‌ , sorry your husband is being so icing ditzy. I do something similar with the petty cleaning when I'm angry. Anything DH leaves out goes in a box. Doesn't matter what room I found it in or what it is. Slim Jims? Box. Dirty socks? Box. Empty beer bottle? Box. It's about the only time I'm a total dick.

ETA: icing ditzy = inconsiderate. WTH.

I was invited to a shower once were the host sold pampered chef. The invite said to send her money and she would buy the bride something with it all. Ummmm, no. I'm not going to make you money, this is supposed to be about our friend.

My head is about to explode thinking about it. She is technically over me at work, so I'm throwing her a nice work shower but also feeling obligated to go to this. And buy an expensive place setting that I don't even want to buy... Not ok with this at all.

For those wondering about what constitutes a pasta plate, I think the idea is to help the bride and groom pay for the wedding meal - paying the price per head so the caterer is probably charging 55$ per pasta eater etc. This would put gifts to help with the price of the wedding.

Got our zippy today and put DS in it for his nap with a light blanket wrapped around him. Took him a bit to fall asleep and I had to go in to soothe, but he's asleep now. We will see how long it lasts. Anything is better than a tight swaddle right?

Lol thanks! He thinks he's pretty incredible too ;-) Also, I just looked at that photo again and holy crap does he look HUUUUGE next to Aiden - I think somebody needs a weight check and perhaps a diet... Our other cat is not going to approve.

Bride's mom called to tell her and she's mortified. I feel really bad for her because she is super sweet and would never do something like this...
It's actually a real pasta bowl, and real china place see My thing is-what if 13 guests purchase a place setting and they only bought 12? Who pockets the extra money and random checks they get? Also, you are totally taking away the bride being able to open gifts.

I will however use my china at her shower because I need every possible excuse to get it out and use it... I don't care if it was overpriced, it's amazing!
