My 6 year old asked to feed Emma. My heart exploded when he kissed her forehead and said i'll always save you. :x I should mention the kid thinks he's batman, but it was still cute.

Omg I love it! Thinking he's batman makes it even better!!
Stomach flu is taking over our house. Sick toddler + sick husband = all the wine for Mama. Sooooo exhausted, but I don't want to go to bed because it just means I have to wake up and do it again tomorrow.
My grandpa was honored as a WWII veteran today and was flown to Washington, D.C. To visit monuments for the day with about 25 other veterans. He was so incredibly overwhelmed with love from everyone they saw! If anyone was in DC today & saw the vet group or were at BWI airport today thank you! He was so adorable tears were streaming down his face when he saw us in the lobby of the airport. I ugly cried when we hugged and he gave me his rose! He's 92 ah what an amazing country we have:)
I'm so proud of DH- he bought a bike and I told him he had to ride it home from REI (5 1/2 miles). He was nervous to do it , and he's very out of shape, but he did it!!!

My little buddy has been sleeping for the past 5+ hours. Too bad I haven't taken advantage of any of that time by sleeping! I have eaten a delicious s'more though. That counts for something.

This is us too. DS2 goes down around 8:00 - 8:30 and I still stay up until 12-1ish. I always feel pretty dumb in the morning, but I can't bring myself to go to bed so early.

This exactly! I feel stupid when I feel tired in the morning because I stayed up until 1:00, but it is the only time I have with just DH, or to myself.

Just when I get to thinking there is a scientist out there who can prove that I have objectively the cutest children of all time I see all the other A14 babies and realize that DD and DS might have some competition!

DD normally sleeps for 3 hours at a time if I'm lucky. We're visiting my mom overnight and she just slept 5 hours. Not sure what the difference is but I would sure like to make this the new normal.
Also, she just managed to pee around her changing pad onto me and the bed so now I am sleeping pantsless. Thanks, honey.
Fuck me. I got 4.5 hours of sleep last night, and when I could sleep this AM I was to exhausted, and DH's idea of watching Aiden was to put him in the swing and watch TV and hope he would fuss himself to sleep. On top of that, any time I asked him to get the baby last night he responded by storming out of the room (even though he swears it wasn't directed at me). Thanks a lot jackass.
Edit: I forgot that he decided 5:30 in the AM was a great time to get handsy, after I'd already been awake for an hour and trying to go back to sleep...
Also, I apparently have a true UO, and I don't want to forget it. I really have absolutely zero cares if I start my period. I don't understand why it's such a big deal unless you have horrendous cramps/headaches and/or other symptoms.

I wanted my kids close together so I actually couldn't wait for mine to start last time. It took until 8 months pp. My BFF who wants no more kids got hers at 2 months pp, even though she was EBF. We were both pissed.
Apparently dd is like her mama and hates thunderstorms. She would wail last night like no other every time it thundered. Which last for almost two hours.
Funny thing is this wasn't her first storm. She was fine all the other times...

I don't want my period again yet because I haven't had one since may and its been so long I feel like I'm 11 again and trying to figure out how it all works again so I dot end up leaking through my pants in public or some shit like that. It's just that one extra thing to take care of while I'm learning all this new parenting stuff
Edit to add may of last year
That makes sense I guess. Maybe I'll end up eating my words once mine starts. We shall see!

This is going to sound really stupid but in the last few days, something has 'clicked' with me. We have a pretty solid routine going, I feel more confident in my parenting abilities and Quinn has been great. I can honestly say now that I feel that bond with him...took long enough! I feel happy and relieved.
Hope everyone had a faboosh weekend!
I saw this in your posts and I wanted to say something but didn't want to come off stalkery. You were talking about how you wish they could bottle baby smells because you couldn't stop sniffing his head, and then about how you didn't want to get up becuase of the baby snuggles you were getting. I'm so glad things have clicked for you, you're a great mom and now you can enjoy it. /end creepy internet stalker hugs

So hoping for the "click" My little man slept in bed with me from 5-930am. Amazingly rested mama right here. I shall reward him by eating donuts... Maybe my milk will taste like sprinkles!

I had a very similar post typed up and then thought it might be weird lol.
I've been pretty busy the past week or so covering shifts at the farm, visiting friends and my parents, and then a wedding last night. I was supposed to have a shift at the farm today and one of the sons texted me saying "I'll take this one today, you spend some time with your baby"
So so so so happy to just have a day with her on the couch or playmat where I don't have to hand her off to people or leave her with a babysitter.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
Ever since Josie turned six weeks we've had nights of 5-6 hour sleeps. One night was back to normal ie short naps but the last two nights she's skipped two feeds and only been up for the 3-4am feeding, then again at 9-11. Magic? I'm gonna give it more time before I celebrate, but please oh please let this be the start of a new sleep trend! No more than 3 hours at a time since birth wears on a body.
Question for EBF moms: when you LO starts sleeping longer (if they have) how did you deal with all the extra milk at night? I slept with the pump next to me last night so I could pump the other side right after she nursed so my boob didn't explode. Does skipping feedings in favor of sleep hurt your supply during the day? Just trying to figure out if I need to wake to pump. Please say no!

@BiggerinRealLife I nurse O around 6:30-7:00 and then pump when DH gives him his bedtime bottle around 8-8:30. I pump one more time before I go to bed around 11:00. He wakes up to eat off one side around 4-5 and from the other side around 7. So far no issues, but I did start out with a large oversupply, which still exists.
@snmetz7 and @Mamamonzo you ladies are astute! You noticed and I didn't. Haha...something tells me you're the kind of moms who will know what your kids are up to from 3 rooms away.
I can hear Sullivan pooping from three rooms away, does that count? I think several of us came to that happy conclusion for you, Dani. It's a lovely thing to see!
My parents are coming to get DS1 in a few hours. I just ugly cried about it, even though he'll be back on Wednesday. He's pretty cool for a little dude.

Besides my period starting, my pump is only working on one side. Medela has ruined my day and it's only 5am...
