I seriously need to get a new mobile. I love the one we had for DS1, but it's wind up and only plays for 3ish minutes. So far DS2 also loves it. I swear every time DS1 would almost be asleep, the music would stop and he would start screaming until I ran into his room and re-wound the thing. I need to invest in one of those battery powered remote control ones.
Mommy level up: Going to the bathroom while baby wearing.
I still remember the first time I used a grocery store restroom with DS1 after he was big enough to sit in the cart (5 or 6 months). You obviously can't take the grocery cart into the bathroom like you do a stroller, so you literally have to do the whole pants down, pee, wipe, pants up thing one-handed while holding baby since they can't stand up yet. I'm pretty sure I stood by the toilet dumbfounded trying to figure out what I was supposed to do.

Im so glad you two posted this. I'm sure that's something I'll do one day and it won't have occurred to me to have a game plan going in.

My friend's sons were ring bearers in a wedding today. The three year old has no butt, and right as he got to the front his pants fell down. Walked the rest of the way bare butt, pants around ankles, full dangle. Photographer caught it all. Mom level freaking up.

@kendracoleslaw I wonder the same thing. The other night Dylan literally screamed in his sleep. I prettying flew to the pack and play and he was still asleep.
I'm so exhausted right now. Completely exhausted. I can't handle the two kids alone anymore, I need DH. Single moms are amazing. 12 more weeks, I think I deserve a spa week
P has an umbilical hernia ;( doc says it will fix itself. Doesn't hurt him but still makes me sad to know his gas was so bad he had to push so hard he got that.

My DD has one too. Supposedly they do self-repair by the time the child is four or five.

@mrscrcalli - DS1's was gone by the time he turned 1. There's hope it'll go away faster!
This is true! 4-5 years is just the time they want to see it closed by before they start talking about surgery. Basically it just means hope for the best, but you don't have to worry if he's 2 or 3 and still has it. DD is 2 and while hers isn't closed up completely yet (as far as I can tell), it's very small so I feel like it's gradually heading in that direction.

Since we are always talking about children being able to see ghosts, I share with you this Reddit thread that I was addicted to one sleepless night awhile back (in the olden days, when we were still pregnant)... Some of it is just parents sharing funny, albeit creepy things their children have said, but a lot of it is parents sharing stories of their children supposedly seeing ghosts and things. Very creepy! I slept with the hallway light on that night. Link below, if you dare.

I think you are amazing! I have been without DH 1 week and have 1 week to go.... Can't imagine doing this alone. ( oh AND my mom is here). You deserve a spa month

Lucas is totally into his fingers and hands now. I love watching him try to figure then out. His eyes get so big. I was just rocking him to sleep and he had his hands on my lips and he would squeeze then let go then pat my lips. So silly but so sweet.
DH has been out of town since Thursday and comes home tomorrow. He misses us and can't wait to come home. Really.... Things haven't been that different with his being gone. He works and coaches soccer so I'm on my own most of the time. It will be nice to have him home though.
It's been raining here for a few hours, and my vag of a dog doesn't want to go out in it to pee. He's just sitting on the covered porch, pouting.

I'm doing skin-to-skin for the first time since the hospital. DD is 5wks old. I feel like a bad mom We cuddle all the time but I recently realized it's never actually skin-to-skin, she always has at least a onsie on. How important is it after the first 'golden hr'? I feel like I've been short-changing my kid

I did that in a show home 2 weeks pp! Lol
This post came right after 2 or 3 about the 3 year old walking around with his pants around his ankles, so for a brief second, I was like, you did WHAT?
DD won't sleep in the crib or pnp. DH is determined to get her to. Probably because he isn't the one who has to get up with her in the motn. I'm happy to let her sleep in the swing. I'm probably setting myself up for trouble down the road but right now sleep is a bigger deal for me.
I've been trying to avoid letting DS comfort nurse lately that way if he's home alone with his dad he's never freaking out especially since he doesn't like pacifiers. Tonight he's being a clingy dictator and since my bf is of no help tonight you best believe in comfort nursing the shit out of this little dude. Still no wifi.
uhhh... So, I just realized "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" is not a Harry Potter shoot-off musical as I had assumed when I heard the title. My sister just laughed at me saying "Did you think NPH was a trashy Hermione?!" No, I didn't get past the title ever. Clearly, she pays more attention to theater than I do.
That's hilarious! Hedwig is one of my favorite movies of all time as I can't wait to see the show. I had a huge fag-haggy crush on John Cameron Mitchell, and my roommate in college and I went to see Stephen Trask perform live at Ameoba in SF and he wouldn't stop talking for a year about how Trask flirted with him. (He totally did not.) If you're into edgy rock musicals you should Netflix it!
