DH is finally stepping up a bit. He made supper (pizza from cost-co but still!!) poured me a glass of wine and said that he'd bottle feed Penny with what I pumped in the AM so I could relax and now he's hanging with her on the couch so I can enjoy a hot shower that lasts longer then 5 minutes! I might even shave my legs for the first time since giving birth but that might be pushing it. Lol
Almost ugly cried trying to leave the hospital. The nurse told me it was state law that the baby be carried out in his car seat. Uh we don't have an infant carrier, we have a convertible and I don't see how we would carry that through the hospital. She got all pissy and left the room. She came back a few minutes later saying that we had to be wheel chaired out then. Ok by me, but am I seriously the first person on the planet to not use an infant carrier?
Then, as we were leaving I asked about DS's birth certificate. The nurse looked at me like I was nuts and said they don't give those out, I need to contact the health department. Thanks for the info? How am I supposed to magically know these things?! Gah. Add those (minor) annoyances to the fact that DS fussed all day and when he wasn't fussing we had hospital staff coming in every 45 minutes, so I got about 10 minutes of sleep today plus 3 hours last night. I'm pretty effing delirious.
I want to TP your entire hospital after all the stuff you've mentioned about them. Crappy care like that gives hospital births a bad rap and it's sad. It's true that they don't handle birth certificates but both hospitals I delivered at brought me all the paperwork and explained it to me.

Tell me more about this cluster feeding you all speak of?
Cluster feeding: where your kid wants boob every hour or less for several hours nonstop. Mine are at 7:30 (30min) and by 8:30 was SCREAMING as though he had never been fed. Ate for 10!min, and I just had to put him back on the boob as he shrieked.

We went out to dinner tonight which was the first time we'd left the house with her other than to go to dr appts. It wasn't a disaster! In fact it went quite smoothly. Definitely building up my mom confidence!
I'm impressed with my ability to be patient with DS despite running on about 3 hours of sleep in 24 hours. It's got to be hard on him to suddenly be in a brand new place!! He just can't calm down. He's eaten 4 times in 4 hours and as soon as we set him down he goes bazerk. Poor kid.

Really wishing A-game would adjust to sleeping anywhere but on DH or I at night. Getting her to do so requires the sacrifice of prime virgin females to several spiteful gods, and even then it's a crapshoot. Looks like I'm in for another wakeful night because she's asleep in our bed on DH's chest and I'm too paranoid something will happen to her to be able to sleep. @-)
Edit: fixed a letter, stupid thumbs.

Hey guys, wow you have been really chatty recently! I have been AWOL due to lack of sleep over the last 2 days. Bascially I have been sleeping when she was sleeping and feeding when she was awake so no time to bump at all.
We have been having major issues getting her to settle at night but I think today I may have discovered why. Ever since we left the hospital we have had a hat on her - and I just found out that they aren't recommended unless its particularly cold because baby can overheat, and can also be a SIDS risk! We also think that we have been over dressing her and shes getting too hot at night, hence is fussing.
So today we removed the had and a layer of clothing etc, and she went down first time no fussing and slept for a couple of hours! It was amazing. I have also started swaddling her again - something we stopped because we thought she didn't like it.
I don't think this will be a miracle cure, but if I get more than 3 hrs sleep tonight I will be so happy!

I like that for the past 7ish months I haven't been allowed to sleep on my back and now it's the only position that doesn't hurt. C section problems.... Ugh.

Omg just got my first 3 hour stretch at night out of Penny. Got her to bed by midnight, she fussed at 1:30 for like 2 minutes and woke up at 3 for real. I hope she falls asleep at the boob after I change her so we can maybe get another stretch like that tonight.
It makes you feel like a genius/superwoman when you figure out something like that @avidkeo! Good job!
Miss E came back from the nursery to eat and I noticed they put a little pink bow on her head. I guess the navy blue and white Penn State sleeper was too boy-ish. But the white shirt, no pants, and generic footprint receding blanket were apparently shouting "girl". LOL!!!
So true! Just hope it wasn't a fluke! . Lol at the nursery staff! Cause they aren't a girl with some pink! Actually when we went to theatre for the c sect the staff appologised about the blue hat they had for her - it just happened to be the one in the warmer. I just laughed! We really didn't care! And we actually loved it cause it had rabbit ears!

@ColleenSwerb exact same thing happened to us in the hospital. Jack cried for hours because of gas and didn't eat anything for 12 hours I hope Eliza latches soon and she feels better ASAP!
Still pregnant! Crampy, but I'm guessing that's from my first cervical check yesterday? Little guy is still riding really high. I expect him to remain a squatter throughout the weekend. Haha!
So for the first time ever Jessica has eaten in less than an hr and has already dropped off. I can't decide if I should just put her down or wake her up to have the other side. I already checked her nsppy but its clean and dry and that didn't wake her up.
Eta:haha never mind. I put her down, and she had a massive shart which woke her up and she decided she was still hungry! Problem solved!

Ditto. Had a date with DH last night. Walked the mall, had dinner and saw The Other Woman-- super funny! It was nice to get out and not think about when this baby is coming.

Been lurking so much on RTT with very little to contribute. Congrats to those who need it, sending prayers to those who need them, and awww to all the babes.
I've had two huge zits on my face that I've picked into giant scabs. So last night after every feeding, I started dabbing breast milk onto them. They feel soooo much better. They don't look a whole lot better, but at least it will stop me from picking at them.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
I do what Colleen does. I shove him on it and we're golden. The whole screaming at my boobs thing happens when he's dozed off and it falls out of his mouth so he gets frustrated while trying to relatch half asleep. He's got a temper on him
My boobs are officially too big for any of my bras at home and too leaky to not wear a bra. So I'm taking a chance and busting out of the house alone for the first time (even though I'm technically not supposed to drive for another two weeks) and going wireless bra shopping! Then, it'll be a stop at Starbucks, and to the fancy grocery store to pick up some sushi and champagne. The meal I thought I'd have immediately after giving birth, I've been waiting three weeks for this!
The weather is pretty nice, so I may be driving with the sunroof open and music blaring while I sip my frappucino. I need to feel like my old self again for a hot minute.

Why do you have to wait so long to drive? I was cleared after 2 weeks. Are you still on all your pain meds?
My discharge papers said three weeks after finishing the Percocet, which I finished exactly one week ago. I'm only taking Motrin IB now, so his nurse told me that she can't recommend driving at this point, but that she was driving a week after going off the narcotics after her own C-section. Plus, I can bend and twist without it being painful anymore and I feel like I could slam on the brake if I had to without busting any stitches open. Soooo I think I'm good to go. This is my trial run before driving baby for the first time next week!
I can't believe it's been almost 4 weeks since I had a baby. I am going to start tracking on myfitnesspal. Anyone else started yet? Not going to go crazy, just try to get the scale to budge since BFing isn't working as well on its own like last time.
I'm waiting until 6 weeks and then i'll be using MFP again.
Piney, be careful you aren't too whiney, or surely you will end up the topic of conversation again between two RTTers on Facebook.
Oh good Lord. Don't come around here once a month with these weak attempts at shit stirring. Get a new hobby.
Well, they know who they are, and they should at least have the decency to talk about someone in a private message as opposed to their wall. Screenshots don't lie.
Well, let's see how things go in the next couple of days. This is your warning to stop being so idiotic and rude. If I see more, screenshots will be provided. Names blacked out, of course. I am not *that* much of a slimy snail.
I am on the RTT Facebook and don't remember seeing anything posted negative about another RTTer. I'm not in the chat though. I think snail is just shit stirring.

Oh wait, there was that one day when everybody was all like "where the eff is Piney? Has she had her baby? I hope she's OK. Nobody has heard from her, etc." Totes shitty.

My issue was latching onto a full extra large breast with flat nipples... LC helped me and things have gone much better since.
