I want to eat all the foods today. I had 2 breakfasts and two lunches, plus snacks. I'm wishing I had something easy to eat for a pre-dinner snack right now. Of course I bought all the off limits super-carb foods for post-delivery and forgot to get snacks for these last few days.

I go back and forth- some days it's "EAT ALL THINGS!!!" Others it's "ugh I should eat..."

  • @Stace0616‌ you'll do great! My c-section was a total surprise, but trust me when I say your mind makes it out to be way worse than it really is. Besides, with the end result being your sweet baby, anything that gets you that is worth it!

  • So this morning I got an iced coffee, tried putting the lid on it and it exploded all OVER me. In my white shirt (I never wear white). Who starts bawling???! me-- I totally made a scene in the shop...aside from a huge coffee being spilled everywhere. Mind you, I go here like EVERY DAY. I am so embarrassed to go back. When I get back to work, I wash myself off in the bathroom and am soaked from my bra line to my skirt. Then sat through a meeting.

Not a good start to my day. Hope everyone else had a better Monday. :)

  • Anyone have a yonanas blender? My mom just bought us one, and I'm excited to use it! I just hope it works like it says.
I have one and I love it!  My DS also loves when I make "fruit ice cream"  My biggest problem is remembering to keep the freezer stocked with frozen bananas.

I've heard that a glass of milk helps ease heartburn- which is awesome but I'm super weird about milk and drinking it straight is something I can only do the first day or two the container is open. I use almond/coconut/soy milk in everything, but I can't drink that straight because it's too thick. I know, I'm weird, my gag reflex is insane. Today I made an iced chai with the almond milk, Oregon chai liquid, and lots of ice. I'm able to drink it AND It seems to be helping. :) Yayyyyyyy!!!!
For my heartburn I warm up some water in the kettle and mix that with some tepid water, honey and apple cider vinegar. It seems counterintuitive to add more acid to your stomach but it really works!

  • Please send good thoughts and prayers to my friend in Ukraine! She was due on the 8th and just sent me a message a few hours ago that her water broke. From what she's told me about the medical care there, it seems very sketchy... I know babies are delivered there all the time, but it would just make me nervous if I had to give birth there! They have to bring some of their own medical supplies like sutures, syringes, an IV system? And other things that would always be provided by the hospital here like sheets, dishes, and simple things like that. She won't know what kind of doctor and staff will be taking care of her until she gets there. So I'm just hoping and praying everything goes well for her and her son!

Good Luck @Dani+California!  I really hope this is it for you.

@thomas930, glad you got to bring him home with you.

  • T&P please for my SIL.  She is 16 weeks pregnant and started cramping and bleeding.  I spent the afternoon with her, my BIL and my MIL.  She has had a missed miscarriage.  Baby stopped developing at 12 weeks.  This is her second in a row.  She is in having a D&C right now.  I was hoping to visit the maternity wing at the hospital soon, but not for this.

So sorry. My most heartfelt T&Ps headed her way.
Thats so sad :( Prayers that she gets a take home baby soon.
  • Is anyone else having an issue with their dogs adjusting to having LO home? My chi has always been a marker but now he is peeing on absolutely everything. With little sleep and adjusting to LO I feel like I can't deal with him too. I don't know how to handle it. He is neutered and we put him out frequently. He will go outside and then come in and pee on the couch. I am constantly cleaning up pee! I feel like my house is disgusting.

Make sure he doesn't have a uti and that it's truly stress related.

Maybe some adaptil? It's doggy pheromones that are supposed to help calm them. I'm not sure it really works... The cat version I've seen more success with.

Make sure he has a place to escape from baby.

Can DH get him some extra attention and exercise?

Hopefully with some time he calms down and gets used to baby.

I just observed some teenage girl, 30 seconds ahead of me, take the last Blue Bell mint chocolate chip ice cream container out of the grocery store freezer. I shit you not, I have been to THREE grocery stores looking for this ice cream. I almost started crying. I can really only have a half a cup of ice cream at the end of the day with my GD if I'm behaving. Fairly certain I terrified the guy working in the freezer section when I insisted he go check in the back for more. No luck. Why are the frozen dairy gods mocking me??!! X_X
  • I hope these clouds clear up so I can see the blood moon later. [-O<

I heard we probably won't get to :(

The cramps the second time were so much worse for me too.

The first wasn't so bad for me, but I'm still waiting for another one...
  • A couple weeks ago, I made a joke that if my 2.5 yr old DS were going to get sick, he better do it this year since we're going to hit our out-of-pocket max anyway. . . He hasn't been sick since he was 3 months old and had an ear infection. DH told me not to say that. Lo and behold, I took him in to the doctor today for a penis infection (yep, lovely. Happens sometimes when you poop your pants every day.) which will be cured with a $70 prescription. I gotta stop joking about this stuff . . .

Anyway, at least my MIL will be here tomorrow night, so my friends who would otherwise watch DS while I have this baby don't have to medicate him.

  • Watching Love it or List it on HGTV and this woman is giving pregnant woman everywhere a bad name. She's such a brat. I mean I get your uncomfortable but that doesn't give you a get out of jail free card to be a witch....I better not have been like that!

  • I just read that an old Aztec myth says if you watch an eclipse while you're pregnant your baby will have a birth defect. Something to do with the moon taking a bite out of your baby! To protect against it you can pin a safety pin to your shirt over your belly button. Obviously a myth but i thought it was kind of interesting.

Now I need to dig out a safety pin!  ;)

  • Warning tmi ...I hate the fact that I feel wet down there and that I might have a chance of not knowing if my water broke. I'm sure a gush I would feel but what about the other kind of which it just trickles down... I have felt nothing other than pressure and is such a mind fuck... Ugh

  • Thanks @KendraColeslaw‌. I ended up in the very predicament that I was trying to avoid. Went into L&D only to find out it was a false alarm.

It's better that you went and it was a false alarm than to be home when everything goes down. Don't worry about showing up at L&D when you think something is up. That being said, I'm sorry it wasn't the real deal. I wanna see your cute cute baby!!
That's ok. I made sure not to get my hopes up. I can't wait to see him either.
  • Today everything hurts. My feet are swollen. I can't get relief from this heavy little girl sitting, standing, or lying down. I'm trying to get the nursery organized and things put away, plus things packed for DH and I, and feel like my body is fighting me at every turn. I'm exhausted but sleep hurts my back more than being up right now. Just had a self-pity cry, and I feel like a huge waddling pile of yuck.
