  • DH and I went to see 'Non-Stop' and I snarfed a whole bag of popcorn and a medium pop...okay and a Kit-Kat...all to myself.

Now I have gut-rot, but it really was delicious! Haha...aw. :-\"

Hahahahahaha I did this exact same thing (movie included) on saturday... Except the kit Kat. It was m&ms for me. Did you like the movie?

  • Regarding the tdap shot, my first one a few years ago was so painful and the stiffness/pain lasted for about 5 days.  The one I got for this pregnancy was not nearly as painful and it only last about 2 days.  Maybe it gets less painful each time?

@sisimama I'm glad that your contractions have slowed and you can go home.  I hope the rest of your pregnancy can be easier on you!

  • I wanted pickles so bad on my burger with dinner tonight (I know pregnancy cliche but it had to happen) so DH bought me a jar...but he bought bread and butter chips rather than hamburger dill chips and they don't taste like pickles at all. I am irrationally sad :-( I can't blame him, because he thought he was getting the right thing (he hates pickles) but it doesn't put pickles in my belly!

good thought, but too high up and too fast! That's why I think its just gas. Not worried but it just feels really strange!!!

  • Picked up Zoloft today and asked about safety during pregnancy.

I know med free is the safest but I'm not gonna make it.

Pharmacist is like its not recommended and seemed a little uncomfortable giving it to me. Now I'm a little freaked out about it.

I'm having awful images in my head though, like I used to get before I started Prozac.

    On a "good" note...
DH and I finally talked... And he admitted that he was overwhelmed. I just turned into a teary mess.

He promised that he'd just tell me when he's feeling overwhelmed from now on ( instead of calling me selfish and getting pissed at me ) but that it was going to take him a long time to get used to not feeling like my depression is his fault...

Hopefully the Zoloft helps, I've never tried it before. PPD terrifies me. I'd never forgive myself if something happened to my baby.

    Thanks for listening.

Safest is a healthy, happy mama! Zoloft is the antidepressant of choice in pregnancy. And most of the risks with psych meds are first trimester things. The pharmacist isn't trained in OB or psych, don't let his reaction mess with your head! The doc who prescribed it knows what they're doing.

I hope it helps and you feel better!
The packaging says "can cause harm to fetus in last 3 months of pregnancy."

I freaked out and puked my guts out. My primary care dr and midwife said it was the safest but my anxiety is getting to me... Ironically?

I've always heard it was safest everywhere I've read.

Thanks for the support everyone. 3rd trimester is rough.
  • Nesting sucks when you have nothing to clean..... almost gave my furbaby a bath for a second time in a week just to have something to do!!!

See, I was actually starting to wonder if they hurt more during pregnancy or something, from all these responses! I got mine a year ago and the nurse said "this is gonna burn," and it hardly hurt at all. I didn't have any soreness, either. So I'm wondering if I'll react differently when I get again it in a week.
I received tdap some-odd years ago. I didn't know it was recommended to get again. I wish I had asked my doctor about this today especially because I'm 36 weeks tomorrow.

  • @mamamonzo I think can be pretty normal for BF babies to lose weight, at least that's what our ped said when DD lost weight at her first appointment. Don't feel defeated, you're doing all you can.

It is normal but he lost 10% of his body weight which is the edge of danger zone. Plus he's had time to gain back and he isn't. It's just overall not a normal situation.

@mamamonzo - also, have you had Lucas checked for a tongue or lip tie?

Wouldn't they mention that at his appt today or in the hospital? No one has mentioned it to me? Is it something I could see myself?

    Edit: spelling is hard

  • I'm a total baby about anything related to needles after someone went through my vein once. I can handle any other pain just fine. For some reason the tdap didn't hurt afterwards and I completely forgot about it until I saw the bandaid the next morning.

My LO gets hiccups 3-4x a day and they can last anywhere from 5 mins to 45 give or take. It annoys the crap out of me lol. How long have they been going?

About 20-25 mins and they were pretty strong. They stopped finally but have never lasted more than 3 mins before. If they start up again I'm going to be an overprotective psycho mom and call the after hours line.

  • Yeah I remember how painful a Brazillian was BEFORE I got pregnant. Now the very thought of it makes me want to cry. I didn't think the TDAP was too bad, but then, it was also right before they drew a vial of blood for my GTT. So I think it was more that I knew something worse was coming? ;)

Now, this anal swab? That is NOT something I'm looking forward to. I don't think I've had a doctor anywhere NEAR there since I was a baby. Eeeek!

I do! I haven't watched tonight's episode because I fell asleep on the couch around 7 tonight.... I really like the show, but it definitely freaks me out!! The preview for tonight's episode looked crazy!

  • What's this about anal swabs? I thought we were only getting cervical swabs? I'm out. Every time DH accidentally knocks on the back door, I freak!

It's a very quick swab. Less invasive and painful/uncomfortable than a pap

If I remember correctly (it's been 3 years) it is a quick swab on the outside.  Nothing to worry about.

I dunno but it bugs. He loves me unless DH is home, then he wants nothing to do with me...oh well I guess

Only love-titting that because my cat is the same way.  She used to either ignore or hide from my DH and was my baby all the time, and now whenever he's home she's a total daddy's girl.  Traitorous bitch. XD

    Traitorous indeed!

    Edit: First post didn't work.

  • I was lurking around on the March BMB and reading a thread about visitors coming over to the new mom's houses once they were out of the hospital and it stressed me out. I don't like having visitors over very often. My house is my escape and the idea of a ton of people in an out sounds awful. I am going to have to get tough about saying no and not feeling bad about it!

I have issues about people coming over as well. I know that it is a time of joy and that special people want to be part of it, but it can be overwhelming.
I told the in laws that they can visit at the hospital but to give me sometime to get use to the baby. MIL was a bit sad but agreed. My mother didn't mind either.

Don't feel bad about it. They have to consider your wishes and understand you.
    Good Luck!

Its to test for group b strep. Had I known how freaking simple it was, I would have told them to hand me the swab and id do it myself. Literally took 2 seconds and was completely painless.

  • I'm meeting our pediatrician tomorrow morning. I don't know why, but I'm super nervous. I just don't feel 'grown up' enough to be meeting my baby's pediatrician. Am I the only one who feels like this?
I felt like this the first time we took DS to see his pediatrician.  Didn't help that the doctor was my pediatrician from the time I was a baby.  Unfortunately he is now retired.
