Honeycrisp apples are the best. The seem to have gone out of season around me though
Me too, and they're my fave. And now @KatieGummow is making me crave some California artichokes, but I know we won't have a decent supply in season for a few more weeks at least. Then I will eat ALL THE ARTICHOKES!!!

Confession time. When people ask questions that make them sound like they have read nothing about labor or it is something I think they should know I get judgey. Then something happens to me and everything I have read leaves my mind and I get panicked. I think I am having BH for the first time tonight and I had to google how to know if it is real labor or not even though I have read the answer a million times. I don't know how calm I real be when the real thing happens. Am I going to forget everything and run around freaking out?
I don't think you'll forget everything, and I think when it's really happening, instincts will play a big role. But I'm a FTM so I could be wrong
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
My DH is so weird sometimes. He doesn't want to clean a Tupperware later so he puts his leftover spaghetti in a plastic bag he can throw out later. It's like he's buddy the elf.
Wait. So he reheats it and eats it out of the baggie?
DH brought home yummy Ben and Jerry's, and had a popscicle stashed for me in the freezer (turns out he just threw out the box..). All is forgiven. This time.
Ha! That is smart though, takes up less room in the fridge. I hate using Tupperware because every single time I stick it in the dishwasher a lid disappears. I don't know how.

There is a plastic bag of spaghetti in our freezer right now. It will never get eaten.

I got invited to the VIP "preview" event of the big car show this weekend. I was promised food, there was chips and salsa and a fruit tray. Two issues with that:
1. I was told there would be this huge spread so of course I went hungry. You can fill up on chips and salsa but not without looking like an oinker.
2. DH wasn't going to be home tonight so I was looking forward to not making dinner, and now I have to make something or I may starve.
Don't promise a pregnant woman food and not deliver. /:)
I ordered ten dresses online (maternity stores are scarce in my area) in the hopes that one wouldn't be awful for maternity photos this weekend. I tried them all on tonight and they are hideous. ALL OF THEM. Add to that I haven't gotten my hair highlighted in eight months and I just. Can't. Do. It. I'm canceling this photo session and will save it for one once baby arrives. I am confident LO will be more photogenic than his mother is. :-<
After reading the caboose questions list cause I'm nosy... How the fuck do so many of them not have stretch marks?!?!?
I'm almost 35 weeks and no stretch marks, itchy skin, or hemi's. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop - or maybe I won't get them because of the killer sciatic pain???
FFWC - I'm somewhat concerned that I might blow off contractions this time if I don't have back labor again. It was so intense and painful last time that I'm kind of "suck it up, buttercup" about anything shy of that.
I blew off my contractions with my first and ended up showing up at my 40 week appointment at 8 cm. I was at a birthing center and my midwife was like "ummm, yeah your definitely in labor and not going home". I was about 2 hours away form almost having a baby at home ">

The hospital bag thread is overwhelming. I just wasn't planning on bringing as much stuff at all.
Also, someone had a curling iron on their list. da fuq? Am I weird for thinking that's weird? I was going to throw my hair up and call it good.
Hah! We should have a "what didn't you use from your hospital bag" thread after we all have our LOs; for sure that will be on there.

We have the opposite problem. Somehow we far more Tupperware lids than containers.

I think most people really over-think what they think they will need...and never end up using half of what they bring. I pretty much pack comfy clothes, toiletries, phone, tablet, camera and chargers.

That's exactly what I was planning on. Plus baby outfit and some stuff for DH.
I'm one of those people who tries to plan for every possible scenario (camping/traveling with me is probably a nightmare, lmao), but I'm trying to remind myself that we only live about 10 minutes from the hospital I'll be delivering at, so if there's something I'm frantic for then maybe my MIL will be willing to go get it for us so DH can stay with me. XD

I just made the best egg salad for DH and I made extra so I could have a snack later. It didn't make it to snack time.... So happy now, so sad in 3 hours.
I've been excited to read about all the births that have been happening and especially glad that most of these early babies seem to be doing so well for being so early! But... is anyone else ridiculously excited to see the first labor buddy post? If it goes down how I'm thinking it will, I think it'll just be so exciting seeing a few teaser updates from the LB, and then we'll be anxiously awaiting for our fellow mommy's post to pop up with this amazing story and some cute pictures of their precious, squishy baby.... 8->

Of course if we say you don't need it, a special snowflake will chime in that they "don't feel human" or "can't be seen in public/photos" until they curl their hair.
Something tells me I'm not going to feel human after giving birth. A curling iron isn't going to help!
I don't have stretch marks yet but I'm only 32 weeks and I feel like I have just started growing faster so I might start getting some soon.
As far as hospital bags go, just knowing I have everything I could ever need makes me feel better and worry less so it's worth it to me to over pack even if we leave half the stuff in the car. I'm sure I will pack way less for my second kid because I will be less anxious since I will know what to expect.

Well break out the Haterade because I'm packing my mini-straightener. Whatever makes me not feel and look like a bag of mushed assholes after delivery is fine by me.
Edit - It's for my bangs...not going to actually sit there and coiffe my whole head of hair.
I've contemplated bringing my straightener because my hair (and bangs too) can dry in ridiculous directions. I use it every day though and will probably forget when it's go time. I just don't see the point in going all out and styling with a curling iron.
We aren't having guests at the hospital, so I am tempted to throw all fucks out the window and say to hell with anything beyond feeling comfortable. Cell phone charger, toiletries, clothes for kiddo and I to leave in. My hubs is under no illusions that I will do hair and makeup for him in recovery.
DH and I spent a good 2 hours at BRU tonight and bought a good amount of the stuff left on my registry. With the registry completion coupon combined with a bunch of other coupons, we saved almost $300!! We also picked up our travel system which makes me feel so much more better knowing that we will actually be able to bring LO home with us!
Now I'm eating Cadbury mini eggs... Today has been a good day!
Walked over to the new apartment (3 buildings over) and happened to meet a neighbor. She is lovely and assured us that the surrounding neighbors are wonderful too. So much joy!!! We also warned her that we are doing a home birth.
Our birth class instructor had her baby on Saturday! Can't wait to squish some beh-baies.

I'm just more sad that no one has any hemi's! I guess I'm kinda caboose due on the 23rd huh. I keep lying to myself on how much longer I have left.
I'm due te 24th so it's like almost caboose but not quite. But I have internal ones so I feel your pain
I don't love that you have hemis, but I also have only internal ones. I am a cabooser, and I definitely have stretch marks, but I haven't gotten around to answering the questions on the thread
