I wonder how many "giant baby" posts we'll see over the next 2 months?

To add, since when is 10 lbs considered "giant" ? They used to be, sure, but it's so common now.
DD was 7 lbs when she was born and DH's family STILL talk about how HUGE she was...

My sister was the largest of us 4 kids at 7 lbs 6 oz and my mom always points out how big she was and how it is crazy she is the smallest of the 4 now.
My sister was also the only one who made it to her due date... figures she was bigger, she had more time to grow.

That is crazy that she is the smallest now. My sisters and I were all 8 lbs and most of everyone I know had an 8-9 pound baby so I thought DD was tiny when she was born.

I need to get a random thought off my chest so I don't bitchy reply to someone.

I posted a while back about my sisters dog trying to pounce on my cat at Christmas then refusing to kennel the dog. As well as refusing to keep our dogs seperated and refusing to ever put her dog in the kennel so mine can can have a turn out.

DH and I do not want that dog near baby. But my sister has bipolar d/o and depression and is sensitive and really takes things personally so I wasn't sure how to word it.

Well I did it. I was as diplomatic as I could be. Said we will be asking friends and family not to bring their pets when visiting us because my dog has had several bad experiences including being bitten and needing a drain and stitches. I mentioned two other dogs and not her dog specifically even though her dog is always pinning my dog...because she'd get pissy if I said anything bad about her dog.

I threw my dog under the bus and said he's learnt to be on the offense from these encounters and I need to retrain him one on one and that requires my full attention and I can't do that with an infant.

She said yeah, he has changed.

No apology for her dog being part of the problem especially at Christmas. I have to kennel my dog when her dog is over because she thinks it's mean to have her dog in the kennel.

But I'm going to leave it. If it means she'll leave her dog at home and I don't have to worry about pulling her dog off mine again while learning to take care of my newborn.

It's really hard not to say anything.

So thanks for letting me vent!

    Carry on :)

I don't blame you at all. She can get over it.

Went on a store run and pretty much bought everything to satisfy the cravings I've been having. This included a bakers dozen, two different kids of chips, salsa, queso and popcorn. This pregnant woman is happy. :)

  • Blowdrying my hair is the biggest chore there is!!! Soooooo hot!!
Yessssss....fuck it. No more blowdrying, I don't have anymore fucks to give.
I watch Netflix on my laptop on closed captions. It's the only way I can dry my hair. I'm too bored and ADD to just blow dry my hair without doing something else more entertaining.
It's not that I'm bored, I just start pouring sweat and I'm over it.
P.S. Full of the snarks tonight. Sorry.

@Mamamonzo We just got home! Oh my gosh, sorry about the salt shower and the phone stealing! She's a sweet girl, but she's definitely in a "let me experiment with my environment" stage. ;) I think we adults end up on the wrong side of that mess. We both had fun! She passed right out in the car!

@mrscrcalli I had an amazing food moment today. I put whipped cream on top of the Icelandic yogurt (skyr.) Seriously, it was a life changing moment. I highly recommend it.

And you can totally get skyr in the US!! We searched for it after our Iceland trip this summer. The brand is Siggi's and you can find it at Whole Foods.
    I eat it every morning!

Yea!! I hope he's ok!! We had this happen once to one of our retrievers (my parents have retrievers) and it turned out he had pulled a muscle really bad in his back leg. He wasn't limping, but, I guess it made him feel like poo. Poor guy! I hope he perks up soon!

She's 9, border collie mix. She isn't one to get into things generally, although I wouldn't put it past my 4 year old to have shared something with her (the kid had a bagel for breakfast and mac & cheese for lunch.) I'm hoping it's just gas or boredom or something. Taking her to the ILs to play with their older less active dog; it always perks her up if she's ultimately fine, so it's a good litmus test for her. ETA - no other symptoms, and she let me feel/apply pressure to anywhere I wanted.
    Here's hoping! let us know!

She could have a bit of a belly ache from the Mac n cheese if she got some, or like another poster said maybe she's sore ( a pulled muscle or some arthritis)

Hopefully with some rest she perks up.

If her gums are pale or any other symptoms pop up I'd call your vet :)
